Based on 1 year's data from Feb 25, 2026 How it works
Now we need this to happen with the Ace Pro. I have the original Ace Pro and a DJI Mic 1 and I hate taking the door off and using the mod to get audio in from the Mic receiver. Straight USB-C would be so much better.
No mic input what are they nuts? Staying with V1
I had 2 pairs of DJI mics (1rx 2tx) combos and the output jack of the receiver wore out on both, the cable wasn’t able to be held in fully seated after 2 years of heavy usage for 2 years. DJI fixed them both honouring the warranty, but it’s a thing to keep in mind to treat them well. Now I moved back to Rode (the very expensive Wireless Pro). Also Hollyland is very worth the price, their gen 1 stuff was so better than the rest of the pack at the time.
i have in the studio 2 set of Rose Wireless pro and now a 4-channel set of DJI Mic 3. I also had 2 sets of DJI Mic 1, sold them because their capsules are so crap compared to rode’s, even the mic 3s produce a worse result audio-wise, on the rodes the actor can scream in the microphone and they don’t clip, the djis start distorting as soon as somebody laughs
I use the DJI wireless mic (first generstion). If you wanna go low budget, the DJI Mic Mini is tiny and on sale for like $99 rn on Amazon
Yep - just general audio cleanup and leveling corrections in post. Overall the output is really clean. There are a ton of accessories to use them with (mic handles, mounts, etc) to attach them to just about anything. One note to consider: The newer models (Mic 2 and Mic 3) have 32 bit float, but the OG model and the Mini do not.
I use the Gen 1 DJI wireless lavs and I'm guilty of this as well, but I at least wear a collared shirt and try to hide it a bit. Slapping it on a t-shirt is just pure laziness.
I have the 3, the 2 and the 1st gen. Love the 3, sure the 3.5jack is whack, but 32bit internal dual recording saved me a lot of headaches.
Cheapest way to do this in a small room is a DJI or Rode lapel mic kit as these will connect to the PC via USB-C or 3.5mm (I prefer DJI) and feed audio that way. For bigger rooms wireless will be a challenge but for small DJI is a rock solid solution.
They likely have data that indicated a minority of users actually use them with lavalier mics. Unfortunate, since I also use my original DJI Mics with lavaliers but admittedly not often.
Just ordered from BH in the US. I currently have the originals and while I HATE that these are not backwards compatible, I skipped the Mic 2 for this reason, I wanted the smaller size and the direct connection to my other devices.
I’m glad I just got Mic Mini for 119€ and Mic 1 for 80€ 👍💪
Me neither, it was like "Why is there a warning label on a lapel mic with a cable..". I initially bought the standard version but when I saw all the benifits of the Pro I've upgraded my set. In NL there was also a special offer that when you bought it you'd get a free interview adapter with foam head (so you can click one of the receivers on it and now you have an interview mic). Check if they have any special deal in your region too OP.
I have creator combo mic. Works brilliantly, but was quite surprised with the internal mic as well. I use it for documenting family holidays etc, where I can’t mic up the kids, but the internal recording is surprisingly capable. But it is a lot more work, so the convience of the mic is unbeatable
