Yes we tested it out. See the YT video above. Works fine.

I now have the definite answer: yes it can. We tested it with my son just now: [https://youtu.be/YhwNmoPq4XI?si=btR9VvSRB-3-\_V53](https://youtu.be/YhwNmoPq4XI?si=btR9VvSRB-3-_V53)

If anyone wondered, it can work without the receiver and without being connected to anything. With my son we recorded a short video as a proof: [https://youtu.be/YhwNmoPq4XI?si=btR9VvSRB-3-\_V53](https://youtu.be/YhwNmoPq4XI?si=btR9VvSRB-3-_V53)

DJI Mic 3 didn't work with my X5 through USB C either. I'm hoping they just need to add compatibility since it's a new device.

DJI mic 3 also allows for 4 transmitters to one receiver and does 32bit float.

Especially since they already had a smaller footprint than most of the competition.

There’s some cool things, but I hate the no aux input. Objectively poor decision.

I would get the mic 3, it’s so much more convenient and lighter. it works better straight out the box too.

For a little less money, you can get a pair of sE Electronics sE7 Small-diaphragm Condenser Microphones. I see them now on sale for $200. I have this same pair that I purchases for recording piano. Last time I recorded, though, I did not use them. Instead I put a DJI Mic3 inside (just stick it on the cast iron) and it sounded very adequate. Anyhow, here's a link to the sE mics: [https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/sE7P--se-electronics-se7-matched-pair](https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/sE7P--se-electronics-se7-matched-pair)

No, only up to 2 using the internal receiver as that was the limit when the Dji Mic 2 was released. The Mic 3's receiver can support up to 4 Mic 3 transmitters, but you'd need to plug it into the Pocket 3's USB port.

I see makes sense! I do alot of run & gun content and the 3's are perfect for me. Still hope they might bring out an 3.5 adapter so more people can enjoy the upgrades of the 3.

I have the 3, the 2 and the 1st gen. Love the 3, sure the 3.5jack is whack, but 32bit internal dual recording saved me a lot of headaches.

Just ordered from BH in the US. I currently have the originals and while I HATE that these are not backwards compatible, I skipped the Mic 2 for this reason, I wanted the smaller size and the direct connection to my other devices.

Get the DJI Mic3 and 2 additional transmitters. 4channel simultaneous recording into 1 single receiver. Used just recently to interview the headliner band of a festival. 32bit float saved the recording as the interview happened just behind the stage while another act was performing. Highly recommend. Worth the price.

This is a really sweet idea! A few thoughts come to mind: Zoom: Potential for greater storage capacity – pretty sure you can throw just about any micro SD card in there, but perhaps not quite as easy to transfer to a mobile phone? Additionally, if you're out biking it might be difficult to find a secure way to mount it to a bike so that it wouldn't fall off etc. For storytime, If you wanted very clear audio with minimal background noise, you'd want to connect a lavalier mic to the Zoom. Dji: Easy to securely clip on your clothes close to your mouth for clear audio, and it syncs right up with your phone. Personally, I prefer some form of onboard recording so if you have the budget I might spring for the DJI Mic 2 or 3. That way you wouldn't have to worry about getting the phone set up etc.

That's my perspective – I think a DJI Mic is a great fit for either application. Note that the DJI mics would require a USB C cable to transfer the files to your computer though, since they don't record to an SD but rather an internal storage device.

Honestly if you don't need internal recording or 32 bit float the mini seems to be fine. I'm just debating paying £55 for 1tx & rx or paying £99 for an extra tx and the charging case.

Depends on the range you're shooting from but I really like the Rode Mic Pro+ a lot and it's usable for voiceovers as well as long as you're directing it towards yourself. The quality is great and has been proven for years. I also use the DJI wireless mics and they're great as well, but more for close range audio.

Yes there are receivers that you connect to your camera and will receive the audio from the microphone, check for example the DJI mic, it has a receiver that you can connect to your camera so that the video you are recording gets the audio from the microphone and you don't have to sync anything

The Dji mics are literally the ones to get if you are using the pocket….they easily sync and have the high quality audio without the receiver necessary.

I used to have the Rode Wireless Mic Go 2 and switched to the DJI Mics and then the DJI Mic 2 because they were much more user-friendly. What bothered me most was that with the Rode Wireless Mic Go 2 you needed the PC program or a phone app to change settings and to transfer or convert audio files to the PC, whereas with DJI you get ready-to-use files and can make all the settings on the receiver. I don't know if they improved that point on the Wireless pro. I didn't notice any major difference in the audio quality straight away, but I only use the devices every now and then. I mainly used the devices when I was at events in my village or community, taking photos or videos for clubs, or occasionally recording church services. There I also often used the Sony UX570 voice recorder and connected it to their mixer or microphones if available, and often used the audio track and the DJI Mics as an alternative. I personally don't currently plan on switching to the DJI Mics 3. While I find it interesting that you can use up to four microphones, it's a bit silly for me because I also like to connect lavalier or directional microphones and use a 3.5mm jack input. When I've used the DJI Mics, I usually record the audio into the microphones and then synchronize it with DaVinci Resolve afterward, just to have a bit more flexibility in the sound quality, especially when using musical instruments that push the volume to the limit. I don't do this professionally, but more as a hobby. I use a DJI Pocket 2, Pocket 3, Sony A6500, and occasionally a DJI Action 5, and I usually just film from multiple angles and then edit them together afterwards.

i would either try something like a Zoom h2n/h3n on the table or would go for a dji mic/mic mini per person and then record in the device and sync in post.

You could get 3 DJI mics, pair two to the camera and the third mic to like an iPhone/Android, record your podcast on both the camera and iPhone/Droid, then combine the audio in post production.

The DJI mics can record locally or can transmit back to a receiver plugged into a camera. We use them as lapel mics in our corporate studio, and they work very well for talking. I can't vouch for how well they will work with loud exhaust noises.

WARNING im not a audio pro. this is just my expierence i use a rode podmic with a Behringer UMC202HD and never have any issues. would recommend voice meter and maybe a different audio interface. if you want a different mic the shure sm7b is pretty good also pretty comon. idk what your plans are with the mic but if you want more of a remote option the DJI mic is good.

You could use something like the Hollyland LARK or DJI Mic and leave the receive inactive, just trigger the local recording on each transmitter as you put them on the speakers. It might be a bit of a hassle to sync up all of those recordings in post but it would work. They'll still be trying to transmit, there would just be nothing at the other end to receive. If the venue techs will worried about that, then I'd look into carrying a small bag of something like the Tascam DR-10L recorders - on-body recorders with no transmission capability. They'll be a bit bigger and have no remote monitoring option but have no antennas or chance of causing interference.

On the go I use the DJI Mics, they're convenient and sound ok. At the desk, depends how lazy I am...sometimes I just grab the DJI ones, sometimes I use my Yamaha audio interface and will plug in one of my live sound mics - I have SM58's, Beta58's, Beta57's, SM57's, Beta87's, SEv7's, SEv3's, Audix OM11, and obviously a bunch of instrument mics that don't make sense for vocals :) Personally I like the sound of my voice on the Beta87.

Honestly it comes down to what sound quality you like best. To my ears the DJI mic sounded a bit more pleasing than the Rode (others will say the opposite, and I couldn't argue because I'm far from an audiophile), and the smaller form factor of the DJI transmitter was better for my uses. In terms of working with the camera I don't believe there's much of a difference between the two. My DJI mic works the same with any device, simply plug it in, make sure the transmitter and receiver are paired, and you're good to go. I apologize for not giving a more definitive answer, and my best advice would be to (1) watch a few YouTube comparisons between Rode/DJI/Others and pick what sounds best to you, and (2) think about your use cases and choose based on the form factor. Both Rode and DJI are great options and either should suit most users needs. As a side note I also looked into buying the Hollyland Lark M2 due to it being a bit cheaper, but decided just to go with one of the larger brands because there were so many more users reviews and I knew they were tried and true. If you need to save some money that looks like a great option, and I'm sure it would have fit my needs just as well as the DJI.

Rode wireless pro, I believe DJi mic, tentacle sync e are all similar sized and I believe they all have 32bit float. Tentacle sync provides time code along with on board recording; rode and DJi are both consumer wireless audio systems with onboard recording capabilities.
