i just received the air mic. i updated firmware for both mic and my new x5 and the x5 doesn’t see it
r/Insta360 • X5 external mic support? ->fixed the problem, i had to turn on the mic and then enter pairing mode by clicking the button twice.. I was holding the bottom for 6 seconds until blue light flashed but after many attempts it didnt work.
r/Insta360 • X5 external mic support? ->Get the insta360 mic air, native high quality audio and quite cheap. No brainer!
r/Insta360 • X5’s USB-C can be used directly as mic input! ->Just set up mine 2 days ago and the new firmware mentioned external mic and bluetooth. It spins when connecting the Mic Air but when clicking back will say connected and show a microphone icon. 3 recordings so far haven't captured the Mic Air and after one minute passes the camera says 'Mic Disconnected'. Any suggestions, because it seems like it still isn't ready for prime time.
r/Insta360 • Insta360 Go Ultra not compatible with Insta360 Mic Air? Seriously? ->The Mini Boya wireless is good. The receiver fits into the USB and is small enough to not show up in the stitching, sounds good, and the price is very good. It's nice cause it doesn't require extra pieces to hold the receiver like we had to do with previous cameras. I also got the Mic Air from Insta360. Personally, I prefer the Mic Air. (I got just the mic, no receiver.) I like that it's Bluetooth. No open compartments, so it stays sealed against rain, dirt, etc. Just turn it on and go. But the biggest thing, which I would have never thought about, is that the mic sits on your lapel facing out, like a coin. I have used lapel Mics, but often, if I'm moving, eventually, they'll rub up against clothes and make that awful loud scratching sound. I swear, no matter how I attach it, a lapel will eventually do that if I'm moving. The Mic Air sits facing outward and so there is almost no way for it to brush against clothing. And, it does sound really good and works really well. Hit the button and it's connected. Doesn't get much better than that. Something to consider. 🤗
r/Insta360 • External Mic Compatibility with X5 ->Main mic I have is hte mic air, acts as aremote control, and able to use Noise canceling, not a fan of a round mic or that rubber mic muff holder , never know the right side of that on/off button lol
r/Insta360 • What mic do you use for your insta360? ->Ok yes. Technically I missed the Comica Boo Max (cheap Chinese knockoff that’s not actually cheap) and the Insta360 Wireless Remote/Mic (proprietary to Insta360) but otherwise that’s it I’m pretty sure that’s all. Note that I’m saying “Wireless 32bit float lav mics” so that rules out all the wireless jokes of a mic that only have 24bit or lack recording whatsoever as well as the 32bit lavs/recorders by the likes of Zoom and Deity that lack wireless audio capabilities.
r/dji • I tested EVERY 32bit float wireless lav mic so you don’t have to… ->I film youtube videos ... like as in I make them professionally full time. **EDIT - it is the wind screen. The wind screen RUINS the audio quality as evidenced in my testing here** [**https://www.reddit.com/r/Insta360/comments/1o5ze6p/mic\_air\_is\_garbage\_unless\_you\_do\_this\_video/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web3x&utm\_name=web3xcss&utm\_term=1&utm\_content=share\_button**](https://www.reddit.com/r/Insta360/comments/1o5ze6p/mic_air_is_garbage_unless_you_do_this_video/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) My shoots are always on the Las Vegas Strip. I use a DJI Mic Mini or Mic 2 (Mic 2 when filming with the Pocket 3) a Boya Magic Mic as well, and yesterday after FINALLY using the Mic Air for an entire shoot, I can tell you it is a poor mic. The sound lacks fullness, it is tinny and it picks up a TON of low hum frequency. This does not happen when I use the USB-C receiver DJI Mic Mini or the Boya magic mic. I am not certain if I can use these with the Go Ultra, considering that it is a detachable camera. If I cannot, I cannot say for certain I want to keep the Go Ultra. I have never had to process audio this much in years. Adding in low pass filters, bass boosters... it is just not necessary with other mics that I use on Insta360 products. Most of you won't care about the sound, but just take my word that it is an issue.
r/Insta360 • Just going to say it - The Mic Air is a really bad mic. ->If you are using it wirelessly this is just now third party bluetooth microphones sound on Insta360 cameras. It wouldn't matter which camera you connect it to, you get that FM radio sounding result. If you use a USB-C connection they are fine. Just a warning, they recently updated the X5 and now NO third party mics work on it with a USB-C connection. Get the Mic Air, you can get one for $49. It is made just for Insta360 and it will sound 10x better.
r/Insta360 • Mic mini on go ultra ->Between the built-in mic of the x5 and the mic air, the mic air is way better. I sometimes use the mic air during my ride to work and i could say for the price its decent. Its not great, only decent. Better than nothing.
r/Insta360 • Just going to say it - The Mic Air is a really bad mic. ->I tried the mic mini with the X5 and it works great! I also have the Insta Mic Air and I think the sound is not good at all, it has a underlying hiss sound to me, stick with the Mic Mini
r/Insta360 • Insta360 Mic Air ->I don't think the Mic Air is that bad, been using it a few weeks now with an X4
