r/TwitchCheap XLR mic and boom arm for a beginner?

With the Scarlett, your possibilites are endless. If your budget isn't rock bottom, go for a broadcast-style dynamic mic with internal shock mount. The reasonable ones start around the SE DCM-3 and the Rode Podmic. For a while, I had the mic boomed from a shelf next to my desk which was perfect for not carrying any noise from the desk itself. Currently on a Rode PSA1+ which contrary to popular belief is just as conductive as the cheap scissor arms, so my handheld-style mic is in a spider-style shock mount for now.

Look at the SE Electronics Dynacaster. It has fantastic sound, with a switchable preamp and 2 EQ switches. Also looks cool too! I use it with a Rodecaster Pro 2 and absolutely love it.
