XL_Sausage 1.0No....just no. It's not the same mdc as the 4040 and above, it's shrill and has a terrible low mid boom. Now, OP, the Line Audio Cm1. The Octava MK012. AKG p120. EV nd76a. Studio Projects B1 ect (all same design) MXL V69M. SM57/58.
Few_Panda_7103 0.0MyDream Mic is the Neumann $4000 but even the MXL condenser I have had for like 10 years works well.
Those are great for shows/touring. But for vocals, you definitely want a condenser. I used the MXL for years, and then I got a VERY good deal on Amazon on a Neumann.
stickman393 0.0I recommend a cheap condenser (I have an MXL) because it really makes a lot of difference, and the quality of the signal that you have to work downstream begins with a) a good treated recording space and b) a decent microphone.
