The Røde Lavalier Go is not a good microphone for ambient sound. If looking at RØDE Lav products only the RødeLink Lav and the Røde Lavalier II are suited for your purposes IMO. I prefer the profile of the RødeLink Lav but the Lavalier II is usually better value as it includes wind protection. I will however recommend the Clippy's (or other Primo EM272 based mics). Get the furs - Bubblebee's are very good if a little pricey - I use the Rycote furs that was sold on Micboosters website when I bought my Clippys - they are fine too. Clip them onto something on either side of your head - it gives good stereo separation. I prefer the straps of my backpack or collar. You can also put them on a hat/cap sunglasses - but if placed ON the head the sound image will be affected every time you turn your head just a little. I turn my body less than my head so body placement is better for me.
I guess it depends on what you shoot and what you value the most. And what breaking the bank means to you. I got a Rode Wireless Pro kit from Amazon Warehouse for 165€ in perfect condition. For my budget and my use case, this was as much value for money as I could get. Aside from 32 bit internal recording in case of drop outs and integrated mics, it also comes with a pair of Rode Lavallier II and all the accessories (from windmuffs to magnetic clips, etc). It can transmit to the camera or a phone, with separate channels, merged or with timecode. In case I want to upgrade the mics or be more flexible with options, I can (and I have, I've used the Sennheiser ME4 and now I have an MKE2, but I've also used them to transmit audio from a boomed shotgun). But in my case I shoot mostly one person interview. And TBH while it's practical, I can also use a field recorder or an audio interface if in the studio, get better quality and just use the camera/phone audio for sync purposes. No wireless transmitters actually needed. It's just practical sometimes, especially outdoors. btw, I've shot videos where the lav is visible and where the lav is concealed, but not with the transmitter visible. I find it ugly, big/clunky, even if you're just vlogging or something. But I understand for many people, particularly for a solo vlogger that just want's simplicity, this might be the way to go.
Im a very occasional gimbal user. Rare that I'll use it for a full day. 9 times out of ten I'll be handheld, tripod or monopod. My manfrotto monopod was the best bit of gear I've ever brought. I did just buy RODE wireless pros. Like some elements. I prefer the look of my older RODE lavs to the ones that came with. Idk the ones that come with it seem harder to lock into the tx than my older mics (maybe that was just me) and the mic clip is a bit loose and plasticky.
Rode nt1 signature, rode lavalier, and I’m using godox lavalier mics if yall want pics let me know
Rode also make a lavalier that plugs into your phone. Way cheaper than a wireless system and would work well in a car attached to your clothing with a clip.
Rode dyo some pretty good mics, on a budget try and get some used Rode wireless ME mics with two Rode Lav mics. Then I would recommend that with the rest of the budget get a used DJI osmo phone gimbal and a cheap light/s, Neewer do some decent cheap lights on Amazon. Hope this helps.
I started out with a blue yeti and switched to a rode lav later on. I personally prefer the lav, both are around a hundred bucks.
rode with a wired lav attached. I only ever use the built in mic in an emergency (lav broke and forgot to pack extras) or on a stick. The hollyland stuff is good too, and if you want to skip the lav part that’s what I would go with.
Cheapest way to do this in a small room is a DJI or Rode lapel mic kit as these will connect to the PC via USB-C or 3.5mm (I prefer DJI) and feed audio that way. For bigger rooms wireless will be a challenge but for small DJI is a rock solid solution.
I have the DJI Mic and Mic 2 but I have Rode lapel mics to plug into them. They’re both great companies and both systems do what they are supposed to. You won’t be unhappy with the Rode. Excellent mistake!
