The 58s are a great choice and they can take a beating. Also look at the slightly.less expensive SM 48. I see you are starting.. just want to be sure you are aware the mics are XLR and NOT USB. Which means you are going to need something to connect them to record.

If you have iPhone or flagship Samsung or Pixel you already have great mic. If you recording in non treated room better yo use dynamic mic. I use SM48 and I absolutely love it but people prefer SM58 for unknown to me reasons (it seems to look better on graph but thats it as my voice sounds absolutely neat with SM48), I bought used and have no regrets.

Bro you can be like everyone else and buy SM58 go for it lol Im staying with SM48. I like its frequency response, it fits me better.

Hey, audio engineer here, I’ve worked with a lot of microphones! A shure SM48 is a great option if you have an audio interface, but if not, you’re gonna need to spend a little more on a mic if you need it to be usb and not be sitting on your desk. Honestly a new gaming headset might be more affordable for now if you get one with a mic, it might not provide the sound quality you want but there are plenty of options that will get the job done

I used a SM48 for my latest song, ‘Baraby’ and it sounds great. Not only to my ears, but to a legend in the recording industry and a professional who mastered it. I loved answering the question, “What mic did you use to record this song,” and the face I got when I told them a SM48. Cheap mic but sounds great for guitar and vocal.
