Amazfit - GTR

I gifted this to my mum, battery life is so-so considering my amazfit GTR needs charge once in a few weeks.

I feel like this is a great point. I have the Amazfit GTR and it was good, but I don’t like the app. Some of the data seemed questionable and I would pair it against other devices and fine the results to be very different.

I have had the original Amazfit GTR. Ceramic bezel, OLED, at 150€ knock-off price shortly after its release. It had great watch faces to choose from. It looked like a watch. I could track my runs and casual biking. At the time, there was no way to do any structured training with Amazfit supported by the watch (you can always plan using pen and paper). But what made me buy (then) a Vivoactive 4 was when I saw my wife's VA3 pick up GPS within 10 seconds, while the GTR needed a minute every time and close to the last known position. And it frequently lost GPS even with light shadow by roadside trees. According to DC Rainmaker, Amazfit needed until recently to cobble together a more useful, but still quite inferior Watch, Look for Suunto or Coros as an alternative to Garmin. Maybe even the pioneer of heart rate tracking - Polar. DC Rainmaker, DesFit they do in deep reviews of watches you can trust upon.
