"It is NOT the watch for tracking. ... while not working out, it barely tracks ANY of my steps around the house. Literally off by 1000-2000+ in the evening."
"Don’t get this if you want a good health-tracking watch because it’s nowhere close to that. ... Sometimes, it won’t even record my runs—it shows that tracking has started, but when I check later, it’s still at zero. ... Even when it does record, the exercise time only appears in one widget on the app’s home screen, while the activity ring stays empty. ... I haven’t used my watch in over a month because it’s just not worth wearing if the tracking is so inaccurate."
"the fitness tracking is pretty bad ... the heartrate monitoring is terrible ... they dropped the ball with the fitness tracking"

"It's getting close to a year now and it still feels just as unfinished and useless as it did at launch. ... The product page and what they advertise is so misleading and feels so far away from the reality of the experience with it over the past 8 months, I feel kinda cheated, maybe even scammed at this point with how little effort and urgency has been put towards actually fixing an unfinished and dysfunctional product."
"If you accidentally start the wrong activity, you can’t delete it—you have to reset the entire watch."
"Updates are also painfully slow—we haven’t received anything since November 2024, and that update didn’t fix anything. ... The community has been asking for fixes, like the music widget showing a random ugly blue cover, but nothing has been done."

"The watch faces are another disappointment. ... CMF promised 100+ watch faces, but most of them are boring and uninspired. ... If find a good-looking one, it lacks info; if it has useful info, looks ugly. ... Customization is also extremely limited-you barely get any options to tweak the design or information shown. ... And the worst part-you can't even save more than one custom watch face on the app. Every time you want a new one, you have to delete the old one and start over, which is just ridiculous."
"Instead of fixing real issues, CMF decided to add an AI watch face generator, which nobody asked for. ... It just spits out random dull images of hills or skies, completely missing what the community actually wants."
"The only hope left for this watch is the Watch Face SDK, which a guy named Rapidzapper has been working on since February 2024. But even that has been slow, with no updates for over a year."

"Notifications are also useless—you’ll get an alert, but it just says something vague like “2 notifications from WhatsApp.” Even if you manage to read a message, it cuts off halfway."
Just got a watch pro 2 and It is NOT the watch for tracking. When I start a workout, it seems to track steps alright but while not working out, it barely tracks ANY of my steps around the house. Literally off by 1000-2000+ in the evening. I also have a Fitbit Charge 6 and that is much more accurate when it comes to just about everything. Decent battery life too.
Hi, I have been using the CMF Watch Pro 2 for about 5 months so I think I can answer your question. 1) It does have standalone GPS, and the tracking is pretty good for a casual user for me, not sure about the overall accuracy 2) You can comfortably use the watch while it's raining, I've personally done things like washing my hands and showering while wearing the watch (no hate please), and water contact is not a problem unless you wanna submerge it into water completely 3) Outdoor screen visibility and peak brightness is really good, clearly visible under bright sunlight, OLED display makes the screen experience so much better 4) I have AOD, Wake to Wrist, 24/7 Vitals Monitoring ON, and track one workout of 1 hour or so everyday, and I get a battery life of about 1.5 days on average, if put on power saving, it disables all the features so power mode is pretty much useless if you still wanna use features like tracking. Not really sure about accurate GPS and workout tracking but hope your doubts about battery and display are clear...
Cmf is pretty good as a general smartwatch for the price, but not accurate for fitness tracking. The galaxy fit 3 should track much more consistently.
I'm using an Active 2 with an Honor V3 so if you have any specific questions feel free to ask. I had the Honor Watch 4 (buggy with notifications), ditched that for a CMF Watch Pro 2 (terrible, dropped its connection often) then switched to the Active 2 (flawless).
The watch pro 2 is a huge disappointment. Probably the worst purchasing decision I've made it the last 6 years or so. I should have returned it while I had the chance, I made the mistake of assuming the issues it had at launch would be patched and it would be improved upon through some updates in a reasonable amount of time. It's getting close to a year now and it still feels just as unfinished and useless as it did at launch. The product page and what they advertise is so misleading and feels so far away from the reality of the experience with it over the past 8 months, I feel kinda cheated, maybe even scammed at this point with how little effort and urgency has been put towards actually fixing an unfinished and dysfunctional product.
This is the review I've been looking for. I have the 2 and was hesitant on the 3. I really wanted the 3 just cause its bigger, but if it's that much nicer than the 2, I'll have to upgrade. Now I just have to wait for the orange to restock Thanks
You did the right choice man. I have the watch 2 pro and it just keeps having problems. I recommend you the Amazfit Bip 6, I made my father buy it and he loves it. Same price of the watch pro 2 and it has three times the functions of the watch pro 2.
Stay with the Amazfit man, I envy my father because he has the Bip 6 and I have the watch pro 2. Literally three times the functions for the same price.
Don’t get this if you want a good health-tracking watch because it’s nowhere close to that. The design, display, and UI are buttery smooth, and it looks great, but the app is a complete mess. Sometimes, it won’t even record my runs—it shows that tracking has started, but when I check later, it’s still at zero. Even when it does record, the exercise time only appears in one widget on the app’s home screen, while the activity ring stays empty. If you accidentally start the wrong activity, you can’t delete it—you have to reset the entire watch. There are plenty of other software issues, but I haven’t used my watch in over a month because it’s just not worth wearing if the tracking is so inaccurate. Updates are also painfully slow—we haven’t received anything since November 2024, and that update didn’t fix anything. The community has been asking for fixes, like the music widget showing a random ugly blue cover, but nothing has been done. Notifications are also useless—you’ll get an alert, but it just says something vague like “2 notifications from WhatsApp.” Even if you manage to read a message, it cuts off halfway. The watch faces are another disappointment. CMF promised 100+ watch faces, but most of them are boring and uninspired. If find a good-looking one, it lacks info; if it has useful info, looks ugly. Customization is also extremely limited-you barely get any options to tweak the design or information shown. And the worst part-you can't even save more than one custom watch face on the app. Every time you want a new one, you have to delete the old one and start over, which is just ridiculous. Instead of fixing real issues, CMF decided to add an AI watch face generator, which nobody asked for. It just spits out random dull images of hills or skies, completely missing what the community actually wants. At this point, they’re living up to their name: CMF – "Cheap Mother Fuckers." The only hope left for this watch is the Watch Face SDK, which a guy named Rapidzapper has been working on since February 2024. But even that has been slow, with no updates for over a year. So, if you're wondering whether to buy this watch or not, my answer is DON’T. Get a Mi Band or save up for a proper smartwatch that actually works.
For quite a while, I had the CMF Watch Pro 2. You can't do nearly as many things as most smartwatches, but it shows notifications and does health tracking, AND the battery easily lasted over a week, so I loved that. Eventually I wanted something a little more elegant looking, and NFC, so went back to Pixel Watch.
Great looking watch, amazing battery life, simple but elegant OS, BUT the fitness tracking is pretty bad, i don't know if its a software issue or just an inferior sensor, but the heartrate monitoring is terrible, its a shame, its one of the best looking smart watches in the budget price range but they dropped the ball with the fitness tracking. Also, it's a bit touch and go with the connectivity to the phone it's paired to. I give it a 3 out of 5. I really do hope they keep this general design, improve the software/fitness tracking and keep it sub $100 USD. it would easily be a 4.5/5 experience for me.
