r/CorosApex 4 is a disappointment

I was hoping for a better battery. I have an OG Apex 42mm that I use for daily wear and for hiking, running, and skiing. Yes, the Apex 4 has some feature improvements, but my current Apex 42mm (which has lost some battery capacity) still gives me battery life that seems to be about as good as the Apex 4. It's fine if the watch only has small improvements to its features, but the battery in the Apex 2 and 4 seems to be a downgrade from the OG Apex. The battery is the only consumable part, so it seems like these newer watches might a shorter usable lifespan than the one I already have.

Fenix 6X Pro. Bought a used one in good condition from FB marketplace a few months ago and super happy I did. Switched from the Coros Apex.

This is not the point. It was mentioned here that coros does "no Feature lock" if the hardware can support the feature. And this is not true. Touring mode is another example. Bouldering as well. And yes some people want to do touring or bouldering with a pace, why not!? But again the point is that Coros is doing feature lock. Personally I do not miss the fishing mode on my Apex.

r/GarminWatchesMy new Garmin Forerunner 255 is here!!

Congratulations! I had Forerunner 255 and it was my first Garmin. I love that watch and miss it from time to time. High value, have all the features you need, it has gpx navigation in breadcrumb line form, great battery life, and it's very light on the wrist. I have never experienced inaccurate HR, no cadence lock, and it keeps up with the HR changes. You might try to wear it higher on your wrist and tighten the strap. I also had Coros Apex, that one was all over the place. Often cadence lock, and often late to keep up with HR changes.

Yep, my Coros Apex does everything I need. Wear a Pixel 2 for a daily though.

I switched from Coros Apex to Suunto Race Titanium, while the Suunto is beautiful and has good gps functionality and battery life the HR is bad even for wrist based. Really disappointing the customization options and interface of the Suunto is way worse. If I had it to do over I would go Coros or Garmin.

r/CorosCoros Apex 4 for Running ?

It's a great watch and will likely do everything you need it to do. I'm a runner and am contemplating an upgrade from my Pace 3 to the Apex, mainly for the longer battery life and topo maps (I'm doing some very long trail races). What sort of runs are you going to use it for? If budget is a consideration then the Pace 4 is an excellent choice, with almost identical features except battery life and mapping. Edit: The Pace Pro is also worth looking at - it feels more premium than the Pace 4 and is slightly cheaper than the Apex. My main reason for considering the Apex instead is that I have tiny wrists and the Pace Pro is pretty big.

I am not as data heavy in my training but it's nice to know all the info - it's very customizable to you and your thresholds. The data ( elevation and distance) I find to be much more accurate than my old Garmin watch. I tested the apex for a few weeks and found it to be too much watch for my needs.

r/CorosPace pro or Coros Nomad/Apex 4

People are being a bit mean, but basically if you are not having battery life issues with your Pace Pro, then there is ZERO reason to switch to the Nomad or Apex. They are likely all using the same processor. They will all have the latest features (basically the more detailed maps) that are missing on models with older processors. And they are all likely using the same GPS, and heartrate hardware. If you don't need multi-day gps tracking between charges (i.e. hiking, or ultra running) then you would likely find the Nomad or Apex a downgrade. The screens are lower resolution, less bright, and have much less vivid colors when compared to the Pace Pro.

r/smartwatchAndroid smartwatch with long battery life and offline music playback via connected bluetooth earbuds?

only garmin, wear os watches and apple watches offer offline spotify. I think that huawei has a 3rd party spotify app - but everything I have heard about it suggests its completely useless. Garmin cheapest options are vivoactive 5 or 6 and Forerunner 165 music - but any garmin that offers music will be able to install and use spotify. Note that these models all have at least 4GB (some have up to 32GB). They can also all do your own MP3 too. They can also do other subs services - amazon, youtube music and deezer (plus some very country specific ones). There are also 3rd party podcast apps too. Note that the more expensive models not only tend to offer more GB, but also tend to offer way longer battery life. GPS and music is heavy on battery and together they are a massive drain and a watch that can offer up to 10 days or up to 20hrs of continous gps tracking will only offer up to 7hrs of gps + music. This means a model like the ones I mentioned will probably need charging every 3-5 days assuming 1hr of gps + music every day. Coros - apex, pace and vertix series offer mp3 ; Amazfit balance, T-rex 3 pro? and some of the active (but memory issues) ; Huawei - think the fit and GT series do - well at least the latest models ; Polar Grit does (not sure which other polar models) and suunto run and pretty sure the race 2 does. These are all MP3 only. longest battery life for this is the Garmin Fenix/Enduro sereis - the 51mm models which offer up to 18hrs of cntinuous gps tracking with offline music. Even with 1hr of offline music + gps you will still easily get +7 days per charge.
