"A good robovac is a life changer. Even a $350 basic S8. It is a great place to start. ... I promise you that you will not be disappointed by a basic S8. It will change your life even if it can't fit under every piece of furniture you own. ... My two S8s just finished vacuuming our entire house in about 46 minutes. ... While my floors were being cleaned, I sat comfortably on our patio in the cool shade with a slight breeze and composed my far too long response to you while sipping a diet soda and relaxing. ... I will have to spend about four minutes maintaining my two S8s. This will be my entire contribution to my home floor cleaning effort for today. Four minutes!"
"I got the Q5 Pro for $139. ... costs $450 less than what I paid for the S6 ... it is the best value option out there imo."
"Like 500$ these robots are currently the steal of the century ... You can get a mova p10 pro ultra (cannot remove its mops), equivalent to the l40/x40 for 500$ after a discount code"

"Oh, and the battery lasts days even when exercising a lot (weeks without excercise)."
"insane battery ... in the morning it's still not drained - and this is on a 6 year old set with worn out batteries. ... The case only needs charged once, maybe twice a month"
"Battery good enough to withstand long run in winter (AW tended to have problems in 30+ km runs in cold, not Garmin) ... Forerunner asks me if to go to power saving mode, when there are "just two days left" :)"

"It gives up quickly and does not map well. ... For example, first time out, it was unable to leave the kitchen. ... So it mapped the kitchen and a space outside the kitchen that it could see was called a room. But it was only able to see 30% of the actual room. ... It did not update the map as the dreame would each run. ... Sent out for a remap. Got the center room and failed to get the hallway that did not have a threshold to cross, got 20% of another room it could't get in and didn't place a wall where there was a wall."
"lost of navigation. ... When come out from the dock station, it somehow lost direction. ... Had to reset it and remap again. ... Almost do it 3 time a weeks. ... lost of connection"
"the bot frequently and randomly loses the map so you have to babysit it as you help it remap, and you have to redraw all the virtual boundaries."

"my Coros doesn't seem to understand that kick sets exist."
"It also gets confused on sculling and some drills."
"it does not record drills correctly so I do not use it for that."
Hi ! I'm surprised to see the Vertix 2S on your list. I got it, and honestly it's really outdated: interface not smooth, few new features, and a price too high for what it offers today. And even for autonomy, it no longer really has any advantage. For less money, the Suunto Vertical 2 does much better: top screen, fluid interface, very comfortable cardio sensor, and 65 hours of battery life in precision mode. Quick comparison: Vertix 2S: – Slow interface – No AMOLED screen – Too expensive – Actual autonomy ~50–60 h in dual frequency – 62 g (nylon) / 88 g (silicone) Vertical 2: – Autonomy ~65 h in precision – Very readable screen – Fluid and modern – 74 g (titanium) / 86 g (steel) ➡️ Similar or lighter weight depending on the version, and not annoying thanks to the flat cardio sensor. Conclusion : At the same or lower price, the Vertical 2 is clearly a much better choice than the Vertix 2S today.
COROS Vertix 2s ; Garmin Enduro 3; or Suunto Pace 2?? Running first 100mi. My Garmin 945 lasted 16.5hrs in Grindstone 100k last fall but running the Eastern States 100mi in Aug and starting to shop for a watch to handle HR and GPS . Coros Vertix wins battery life game but being self supported I want to ensure both that and mapping. Thoughts?
I recently cross shopped some of these(March of 2025h. Depends on your budget. For me- the fenix 8 is too much money. The fenix 7 was already a few years old. That left me with the Og vertical, vertix 2s and the Enduro 3. I wanted long battery life and a beefy build for durability. I ended up with the vertix for the following reasons: 1) insane real world battery. I have found that all systems on (the middle ground satellite setting) has been more than suitable for my hiking and running so it still sips battery 2) I don’t care about updates. I’m either buying the watch with the features I want or perhaps it isn’t the watch for me 3) vertix 2s is already expensive and it was my price ceiling. So that made the enduro 3 boater how much I wanted it, simply no longer an option. If money wasn’t an issue, I think I would be rocking an enduro 3. Summary- if you can swing it, I’d probably go enduro 3. Unless you climb and dive, the fenix seems overkill plus it’s regularly over $1000 in the US. Enduro is a bit cheaper though not inexpensive. Vertical 2 gives amazing competition to this field and has it been released I would have maybe bought one. But i went with the vertix 2s. It does nearly everything I need (misses a few sport profiles for things like basketball and yoga, but you can custom build activities so it’s moot). It is a bit bulky but despite regular workouts and using regular gps (only needed all systems a few times in rocky spots) I still charge once every 24-28 days
Switched from Garmin (FR955) to the Vertix 2S earlier this year. Have now run around 2,500 miles with it including a few ultras and road races. Made the switch because my old watch needed to be charged for multi-day stuff. The good: - battery life is as described. 100 mile races and beyond are no issue - app is good and a ton of stuff just works. Intervals, data screens, maps, etc are just simpler and work every time - navigation and uploading courses is easier and the distance to next aid is automatically part of nav screens. Garmin drove me nuts with this one - sleep and nap detection is better - the Velcro strap is better and allows for easy adjustment - changing bands is easier and doesn’t require tools - snap on and off The bad: - screen on the Garmin is superior for sure - no doubt some of the battery improvement comes from the simple tech - the crown rotation takes some getting used to and doesn’t always work perfectly - Garmin has a ClimbPro feature that’s pretty awesome. Shows you distance and vert to the top of each climb. Coros shows you to the distance and vert to next aid…but I miss ClimbPro sometimes as it gives you great bite sized goals to work on. I don’t think you can go wrong either way, but I wouldn’t hesitate to get a Coros. As someone said, you may be at the end of the design cycle of the Vertix. They occasionally have open box sales on their website and you can save a few hundred bucks that way too.
I have the Coros vertix 2s and love it! But I havnt owned any other sport watches so nothing to compare with. Battery life is insane
Coros Vertix 2S or Apex 2 Pro. both are sapphire glass, reasonable price, great battery life, and have maps. Made to compete with the Garmin watches without blowing the back out of your bank account. They also have some nice climbing/mountaineering specific activity settings.
Love my Coros Vertix. Can go 30 hours activity tracking and still have 65-70 % battery left. Charges super quick too.
Some modern watches can do 100 hours or even more of GPS recording on a single battery charge, and recharging them with a battery pack is far quicker because they have relatively small batteries that are typically about 500 mAh. People do record 200 mile ultramarathons in a single continuous activity on a single charge. For that you need a watch like Coros Vertix or Suunto Vertical Solar, or Garmin Enduro. But since you can recharge every night, pretty much any modern watch will handle it with ease. Edit: when I said pretty much any modern watch above, I meant pretty much any dedicated GPS fitness watch from one of the following 4 brands - Garmin, Suunto, Coros, and Polar.
I've had a Coros Vertix for about 5 years and it is fantastic. Always news features being added. The battery life is great and it charges very quickly. I've done entire 4 day backpacking trips on a single charge.
Its about as good as you are going to get. Apple does lock certain features to apple watch only - so an apple watch ultra 2 is an alternative option you can look at - as does include recreational diving features - but not as much as the fenix 8, and you can cover the gaps the F8 misses via 3rd party apps - but does leave out the cohesive eco system garmin provides - and considering that you barely mention any smart features would then say you are looking at the right watch (definitely from fitness tracking and progress tracking point of view). Fishing - actually it does - you can log your catch and log the spots where you catch..... [https://www8.garmin.com/manuals/webhelp/GUID-EECCAC99-90D6-4AB1-9A3A-EC433D3365E2/EN-US/GUID-A6881EE1-DB08-4922-925F-C7526EFAE8A2.html](https://www8.garmin.com/manuals/webhelp/GUID-EECCAC99-90D6-4AB1-9A3A-EC433D3365E2/EN-US/GUID-A6881EE1-DB08-4922-925F-C7526EFAE8A2.html) and then you can used those saved location spots to navigate back to them at any point (can be very useful for fishing holes whether out on the water or fishing from bank/beach). All garmin have a built in coach for running - think C25K but does up to half marathon distance, then F8 incldues a Daily suggested workout option which you can then add a race event to it, to get the DSW to try and get you to peak for your event - so if you want a hassel free experience and a watch to build your training programme - hard to beat what garmin offers. Hiking- get offline maps and offline navigation (think satnav from car on watch) - so can create routes and get tbt directions on watch and via audio. Plus love the climbpro feature. Maps will work with all outdoor activity so can use for paddling as well as running / hiking etc (have a couple of paddle routes for when on canals / rivers especially canals in towns - great way of seeing parts of a town via water). So yes there isn't really anything else that comes close to matching it. Nearest alternative options would be apple watch ultra 2 (and losts of 3rd party apps); polar grit/vantage and coros pace pro /apex pro / vertix all include built in training systems and with training metrics and analytics like garmin to track progress; suunto at this stage is training metrics and analytics - though their suunto ocean is a full dive watch (garmin equivalent is the descent mk3 which is basically a fenix with full dive capability);
