I bought one in December of last year and I really like it. I wanted something simple and it was a nice upgrade from my Inspire 2. I like how I can track specific workouts from the watch and the modes it has. It just works with my lifestyle.

I'm here to ask the age old question, has anyone found a fitness tracker that is reliable with reading your heart rate through tattoos? I had a fitbit inspire 2, it worked most of the time but not always (particularly it would never read my heart rate accurately when on the stairmaster). Now I have an ultrahuman ring, thinking it wouldn't be an issue on my finger since I only have a single letter on it. I always make sure the sensor is on the opposite side when I'm working out, but the tracker is all over the place and overall, very inaccurate. At this point I'd love to add something that I could wear even just for workouts, but I'm tattooed on both wrists, all my fingers, my stomach.. I'd love to know if you've found anything that works. TIA!

Yeah, i love my fitbit inspire 2. People go on about smart watches and im sure theyre great, but…those are very expensive. you can grab a fitbit for $50-60 and it does almost everything the smart watch does. Especially if you’re just starting out.

I have a FitBit Inspire 2, I've had it for two years now, and it's been great. I am pretty sure it is not accurate for calories etc, but it is a useful measure on the medium/long term as you can see the evolutions of your heart rate etc. You can select horse riding in your activities. Also it is fun to be able to see the evolutions of your heart rate while doing jumps and stuff like that - I once was able to pin point exactly the time I fell from my horse because he refused a jump as my heart rate just shot up :p Main advantages - it was dirt cheap, no subscription needed; surprisingly sturdy (goes under water, survives shocks quite well); works alright if you don't want medical-level of accuracy (for which you need an actual medical device anyway). When I replace it I'll probably take another FitBit, either one with a few more functionalities, or just an Inspire 3.

If you want something that’s fairly accurate, you should opt for a tracker that tracks heart rate. I use a FitBit Inspire 2, mainly for tracking steps, but it does also track heart rate so when you record a workout, it should be pretty accurate in calculating calories burned. I can also go at least 2 weeks without needing to charge it even thought I wear it all day, everyday. And it integrates well with MFP. It’s also small and does not have a big fancy screen. I think the price is right too and think I paid about $85 on Amazon for mine. Garmin is another reliable brand that should integrate well with MFP. You can look on Amazon or online for other fitness trackers too, just make sure to double check on MFP if it’s one you can link (under settings and then Apps & Devices) and that it tracks heart rate for accurate calories burned.

You’re welcome! All you’ll have to do is connect to it in MFP and workouts/steps tracked should upload. Sometimes, you might have to go into the FitBit app first to refresh it if it’s not showing up accurately in MFP. Steps track on a FitBit automatically but for workouts, you’ll have to initiate a workout on your FitBit for it to track it. Mine has the option to track running, biking, swimming, treadmill, weights, and interval workout. The Inspire 2 is also a bit dated so if you got the Inspire 3 (or even a Charge 6 as these two are both smaller but still track heart rate), there might be more workout options. On FitBit’s website, it seems like the Charge 6 is geared more for optimizing workouts but you’re giving up some battery life. It still shows the average charge should last 7 days so not bad.

A cheap Fitbit (Inspire 2) + Strava will do the job perfectly.

I have a fit bit inspire 2. Certainly not the latest and greatest you can get, but works well enough for me. Tracks steps, heartbeat, sleep, syncs to a decent app. My health insurance gave it to me with their diet/exercise program I signed up for. I also use Fitbit’s nutrition tracking function, and that helps keep me on track too.

I like mine too. It’s smaller so easier to wear but the best part is the battery life vs other fitbits. I can get a full week pretty easily. Fitbits are consumables and need to be replaced every couple years, because of this I like the price of the inspire as well. When I need to replace it won’t break the bank!

I have had mine going on three years now. I have really no complaints. No fitness tracker is perfect, but this one comes close for me. Yes, there are the occasional blips in the app and nights when no data get tracked and so on, but the trends are there and it has helped me improve my sleep, increase my activity level and track food calories. It does seem to overestimate calories burned though.

It will overestimate what you burn. This is the opposite, I think, over what you " will take". Most research suggests about 25% off. YMMV.

The reason I stick with Fitbit is the Inspire. I had the 2 and now I have the 3. I hate big clunky watch things and I’m not interested in something you have to charge every day or 2. The Inspire is small and sleek and the battery lasts at least a week, I’ve gotten close to 10 days. When Google destroys Fitbit for good, I’m headed towards the Oura ring. A bit more pricey than the Fitbit but really good ratings and the battery lasts at least a few days.

Still really salty about it personally :( I love my Inspire but recent updates have been so buggy.

Whoop I think is the best for CrossFit and not just running. The strain Metric is best for lifting workouts. Journaling features really helped me see what types of behaviors have positive and negative effects. The price point is what made me quit using it. It was fine for running also, but you never got miles or steps, just a strain score. I use a FITBIT inspire now. It was the cheapest, lightest, and longest lasting wearable on the market. The steps feature was more useful for me in regards to overall activity outside of the gym. It does sleep, heart rate, and distance well. It even has a "daily readiness" score similar to Whoops recovery score.

I’m not positive if it has EVERYTHING off, I think it has Bluetooth to offload data to the phone, but I’m pretty sure the Fitbit Inspire doesn’t do any smartwatch features. If you don’t have your phone in the building it should t be capable of anything.
