Avoid Fitbit - I have the Luxe and it has always been wildly inaccurate on calculating calories, the few times I've used it. I mainly bought it for the sleep-tracker. Now that the Meta Move app has been unceremoniously discontinued without any good explanation, I honestly don't know what I'll do for counting calories I burn while working out on the Quest 2. Anyone know of any free basic VR apps that are a replacement for Move?

I adore my Charge 6 and I bought it last year knowing Google is trying to phase them out. (Couldn't resist the sale price!) In the past I've had some of the original Fitbit trackers: I had the original Classic, a Fitbit One, a Luxe, the Versa, and Versa 2. I enjoyed all of them, especially the Versas and for some reason the One. So the Charge 6 to me is like a happy medium: it's a basic tracker in a wristband, not a smart watch. So it doesn't do everything, but it's got a pretty sleek form factor and it does the basics quite well. I use mine the way it was intended: an activity tracker! I can log my walks and runs, connect it like a heart rate monitor to gym equipment and fitness apps, and... That's pretty much it for me. I like hitting 10k steps and seeing the little animation. I like hopping on a spin bike and seeing my heart rate. I like going for a run and seeing what zone I'm in. It's super basic and that's what I enjoy. The only thing I miss is that my Versas had a C25K app that I liked a lot, but I knew when I bought the Charge 6 that it wouldn't have this functionality... Although I do think it's a missed opportunity.

My seventh Fitbit died last week (from Luxe to Versa to Charge 5 and 6, this was my second in-warranty replacement), white line on the screen to no screen at all within 24 hours. So with some Target credit I decided to go with a Garmin Instinct for $200. The GPS is much, much more accurate (even when not paired with my phone), the app tracks a lot more information than the Fitbit app did and takes up a third of the space on my phone. I miss the constant step updates; the Garmin just updates every minute. That's about the only drawback.

Fitbit user for 10 years and like others say (I'm not a Google hater though) it's definitely not what it once was.  I've bought the Blaze, an Ace and currently using a Luxe.  Will not be buying anymore and will be looking for a replacement in the near future.  I'm not a super user, but there's just too many resets, re-syncs, and other random glitches that you have to mess with in the last couple years, it's really not worth it to me. I want something that I can use to help me track sleep, alarms, track exercise and give me notifications.   Cons: -The app on Android isn't supported on older model phones (Android 11 or higher only) -they keep rearranging the GUI on updates so its less user friendly and less intuitive -unable to set alarms from the app now -no real user support. You have to trouble shoot everything using online forums. The support team is essentially non existent (in fact just today received a bounced back email from the email listed on google play support, saying it's not monitored anymore)  -cant customize watchface (Luxe model) -battery life inconsistent (sometimes lasts a week between charges sometimes just 3 days) -doesnt always recharge reliably (I've set it on the charger 12 hoursat a time after ensuring a connection andstill won't be charged. I think the connectors are overly sensitive) Pros -smaller devices than other brands -Not too many features if you're trying to keep it simple -affordable

I used the FitBit app and 2 watches over the course of my fitness journey. I actually liked the 2nd one (Luxe) but idk how accurate it actually was. The app worked for me but that was before Google acquired them. I ended up upgrading to a Samsung watch for non-fitness smart watch uses and moved to MyFitnessPal for food logging. I chose MFP because it will automatically sync to Samsung Health to record my activity, sleep, etc in one place.

I am pretty sure fitbit intentionally make their products break immediately after the warranty runs out. My wife’s Luxe died like 2 weeks after the warranty expired, my second Luxe too. Luckily my first Luxe died like 1 week before the warranty ran out so they had to replace it

A FitBit Luxe, golden watch sides, that's several years old. I've thought about upgrading to a Garmin, but I like how small the FitBit is (slim wrists), and I feel like I don't run enough to justify the Garmin. I wear the FitBit all the time unless it's charging or I'm in the shower. I always have my phone on me when I'm out, so the no in device GPS doesn't bother me that much.

I wear a Fitbit Luxe. It's dainty and kind of looks like jewelry. I literally could not go without it, it's like a vital part of my body at this point lol.

I have a Fitbit Luxe. Have used it for 5 years to track sleep, hr, steps, etc. Will the garmin give me that same functionality?

A year ago I test drove an Apple Watch SE and ultimately went with a Fitbit Charge 6 over cost, battery life, and feeling that keeping it charged while also getting sleep tracking was going to be a challenge (previously I used sleep tracking on a Fitbit Luxe and quite liked it— the Luxe's screen died after just under two years). That said, having now had the Fitbit for a year, I will probably go Apple Watch the next time. The deciding factors are: * Build quality. The Charge 6's screen is increasingly unresponsive and internet research backs up a significant population who seem to have them die around the 18mo mark, which I consider unacceptable. * I'm not tracking my sleep as much these days. Between that and how the band shreds the skin on my wrist, switching to a usage model where I take it off at night would be fine. * Native "find my". Being able to reliably locate my iPhone from my wrist is a feature I really liked during my trial and I've had a number of instances over the year where I've wished the Fitbit could do that (its find-phone feature is far more limited and depends on the app having been recently open on the phone). * Rich notifications. That Apple Watch can stream through anything the phone shows is great, especially with smart reply. * Media control, maps. Technically Fitbit has these too, but they suck— the media control is YouTube Music only and walking directions on maps are barebones and sometimes don't work at all.

I have a Fitbit luxe and while I haven't hated it enough to replace it before it actually dies, I will not be buying another Fitbit when that happens. It tracks my sleep as any time I am physically somewhat still, even nights with hours of insomnia and rustling around reading. It has never one time in three years told me my blood oxygen content. The app changes from time to time and gets more useless. There is now a metric called "cardio load" in addition to "daily readiness," and the two absolutely never agree. I get messages every single day either telling me I am overtraining and at risk of backpedaling my heart health, or else telling me I've been way too sedentary and at risk of backpedaling. And the app has tons of places where you can click for support or more info, which take you to a browser page which never loads.

I've tried fitbit luxe and garmin lily. My opinion is that fitbit was better at tracking movement/exercise and easier to navigate the menstrual tracking. Everything was very intuitive about the fitbit. The menstrual tracking part did glitch on me bc i didnt log consistently. I would have bought another fitbit but they discontinued the one I liked... they have a slim fitbit that basically just has a screen for stats, so while there is a screen it isn't overwhelming. The garmin lily watch and app is not as intuitive to me. I didn't know garmin had a menstrual tracking section/cant find the section. Garmin also doesn't track climbing well at this price point. It barely registers climbing, swimming,or yoga as an exercise automatically. The fitbit was better at realizing exercise is happening. I currently use my garmin more as a watch than a fitness tracker 😔 What's important to me was: 1) not bulky, aesthetically pleasing 2) reasonable low price, bc my fitbit got smashed up while climbing and im expecting my garmin to get smashed up. 3) silicone band so it doesn't catch on anything climbing and break my hand or somethin 4) tracks heartrate 5) waterproof Tldr; dont recommend garmin lily, fitbit might be a good budget option if you want to try out a fitness watch. Neither are good at tracking climbing specifically, I've only really used the heartrate/activity tracker for both.

I've had fitbit products for almost 9 years. My luxe just died and I'm looking at options. I have a few issues with Garmin, they're ugly and huge, they donate heavily Republican, and support Trump. I'm debating a Charge 6 or a Samsung at this point.

Have had a Fitbit since 2012. The last 2 years I've also had an Oura Ring. Honestly, the only reason I still use it is: 1. Vibration alarm 2. Watch face 3. Small size - I've always loved the thin little trackers, smaller than an eraser. I didn't enjoy the Versa. I'm using a Luxe currently. Will have to find something to replace those functions soon it seems.

Have tried the Oura and Ultrahuman, but the RingConn was much better for me as it is invisible when worn. None of them are particularly accurate, however, and the tech is still in its infancy. The Fitbit Luxe is small on the other wrist, but is not perfect. Sadly an Apple Watch or Garmin are way better, but double writing is tricky.

I still love my Fitbit. I currently have the Luxe, but recommend the Versa. It’s now apart of the Google Pixel line. I love it so much because I only need to charge it 1-2 times a week. A full charge gets me through 4 days. I returned my Apple Watch because I couldn’t deal with the short battery life.

I'm really frustrated with fitbit because I loved the Luxe being metal and very feminine - small and zlender. And then they stopped making them. I bought an old one off of ebay. And now it has trouble charging. I'm thinking about changing to a different brand but, I don't know bc I'm used to their interface after all these years. All that rambling to say I sympathize.
