I’ve had multiple garmin watches that did a fine job in swim tracking. It used to be just the higher end watches that had that, but now you can get the lower end (something like forerunner 255) and that will do a great job too. However if you want something with training programs, the Form Goggles are great. I’ve been using them for a couple of years and they’ve been really great. And the number of workouts that you can choose from is excellent. All stokes, wide range of distances/duration. And having a display in your goggle to tell you things like stroke rate, lap speed, time elapsed, number of laps, rest time and your next set in your training is has been really useful. You can even get a compas when swimming outdoors to keep course.

I have the version 1. The only real difference with version 2 is the integrated heart rate monitor. But my v1 works fine with the polar verity sense strapped to the band. If you want to track your open water swims with the goggles, than you need a gps sports watch as well, it couples with the goggles to provide pace metrics. But is you don’t track open water swims and you don’t do any other sport that you want to track then you don’t need any other smart devices.

I use Form Goggles or a Coros pace watch. The Coros track well and can do structured workouts. And having access to my distance, pace, heart rate, and workout time available is really cool

I have the form goggles and a Garmin epix. The form goggles are always more accurate. Especially if I’m following a routine. Good thing with the goggles is you can see when it thinks you’ve started swimming.

I really like Form goggles. They have an in-lens display, link to Garmin & Strava, and a nice app that comes with workouts & coaching.
