Forerunner 255 Series
Long battery, but wrist HR often inaccurate.

Running these analyses costs money. Buy through my links to help keep lights on! I may get a small commission.
Yesss. The Fenix line has SCUBA capabilities now. The only reason you would want the Descent series now is if you need wireless capability. If you want something cheaper and dont need the latest and greatest .... and if you dont mind the G-Shock like looks and just need basic openwater functions... the G1 Descent is still a good option.
I am happy with my Garmin Descent G1. I use it for freediving, SCUBA, hiking, running, cycling, walking and other shenanigans. I have only used it for Air in SCUBA. Others might disagree with me but I would still have a dedicated dive computer aside from a smartwatch. For SCUBA purposes, I mainly use my Descent G1 for logging purposes and surface navigation. There is the newer Descent G2 now but it comes with a OLED screen which I dont like because battery life is shorter and it blinds me at night.
I have the same and never found it too small
Yes, I know. Many people are saying might be too small for others, but not for themselves. I think that’s just because one YouTuber once mentioned it. It’s totally fine, if you are not halfblind in my opinion. :)
The only solar enabled dive watches are the Descent G1 Solar and the Fenix 8 solar watches. There's a Descent G2 but it has an amoled screen.
I have the G1. My wife has the G2 and loves it.
You can get a new Garmin Descent G1 for like $400, maybe less. Great dive watch overall.
Even though I tend to agree to some extent, I've been using a Garmin descent G1 for a couple of months now and I'm super happy with it. I work at a dive centre so I dive every day and it has been very reliable. It feels more like a dive computer that ends up working as an activity tracker rather than the other way around.
I work at a dive centre so I dive every day, so I was looking for a computer that could double as a smart watch as I'm used to having one and that way I wouldn't have to switch between the two every day. I got a Garmin descent G1 a couple of months ago and I'm super happy with it. It feels more like a diving computer that you can use as a smart watch rather than the other way around, and I got it for 400€, which was a steal for all of the features it has.
