"I am a power lineman, so I needed a rugged watch that could get banged around, be exposed to energized high voltage, and very harsh conditions. The TREX has worked flawlessly through all that."
"it’s super durable. ... The watch clasp has gotten scratched up but the face is still fine after nearly a year of climbing inside with it. ... instinct is very durable"
"tanky ... Only thing you really lose is a touch screen but that's better for it's ruggedness and water resistance."

"the battery lasts 2 weeks, that's with 5 days worth of tracking runs and day to day use. Incredible."
"16 days battery life on my fenix. ... The other aspect I really appreciate about my fenix is the battery life. 16 days or so. With everything I have to change these days (laptops, mice, keyboards, headphones, watches, phones), I appreciate not having to worry about it too often."
"Oh, and the battery lasts days even when exercising a lot (weeks without excercise)."

"it has the flashlight, probably the most useful tool I’ve ever had in my life. You’ll use it daily and it’s so helpful in the most random times."
"Flashlight on my Fenix is worth A LOT of money to me. ... Having had it, I could not go back. ... I would happily pay 200 extra for it I use it so much. ... Having a flashlight on your wrist is incredibly handy."
"On my fenix 7, I love the flash light...totally unexpected top 3 feature. :)"

"it's literally a fitness tracker first ... then 2 miles of data sheets from all that tracking"
"the load tracking and suggested workout feature alone is worth it."
"gives you an overall recovery metric that takes into account sleep, calories (of syncing with MyFitnessPal), and stress."

"So much lighter and low profile than my Epix."

"For all other activities its literally off by 60 bpm in some cases. ... i dont wear it anymore besides activities since i know measurements are not reliable and therefore everything the watch shows me is useless. ... why would i wear the watch over night for useless data. :) ... When a watch ONLY uses HR Sensor for all calculations (activity, tss, rest, calories) and the sensor literally is shit. ... I needed to buy a polar h10 because suunto race s sucks in hr sensor. ... This watch therefore is no fitnesstracker, no hr tracker, no ressource tracker."
"the heart rate is trash for everyday health tracking. ... So very disappointed ... Sending it back"
"Race S couldn't count correct ascent if its life depended on it. ... I get days where it counts more than double than what I did, most of the time its about 30-50% more, and only rarely does it count with something like 10% deviation."

"I had a Netgear Nighthawk router that ended up getting a bug in it after a firmware upgrade. ... The bug didn't allow me to filter by MAC address. ... I had to end up actually editing the HTML of the router page to get it to work. ... It was a known issue on Netgear's website for years, but they never fixed it."
"I had a Netgear Nighthawk system that would randomly start spazzing out and start dropping packets on the wireless network and need a full power cycle every once in a while."
"The last Nighthawk I had constantly resulted in "Connected, No internet" for too many devices."
I wear a Garmin Fenix 7x sapphire solar while bouldering but only because it's made from titanium and has sapphire glass so if I bump the wall, the wall has a dent. Most watches I'd say just leave them off.
Wife loves her Forerunner 255 not too big or small for her liking. Lasts about a week and half and her exercise is close to what you describe. Definitely worth the look; if you did more rugged and outdoors I'd suggest fenix 7xss (have it and absolutely love it for my 1-2 week back country hiking/camping) or instinct 2 but since you're primarily in gym and paved areas the forerunner line or the venue line will be great. I personally haven't met anyone with a vivo but garmin generally does well across all lines. Like others have suggested watch several videos for each that interests you and then make an educated decision.
Not to argue about quality but I have a fenix 7x solar sapphire and can say when I fell and ate shit off a mountain bike it survived. Now prior to all that tho after about both even a year with it started getting mushy buttons and it happened on both warranties. Agree with UI for sure. I like the garmin for the battery life if out for a couple days in the mountains or when I use to be. Now I’m bouncing between trying whoop or getting an awu. It would be neat to see awu3 with blood pressure. Other than that I have yet to open this awu2 from Costco I picked up for $699.99 before tax.
This is the reason i gave up on Garmin. I had a 7X Pro SS and when i saw that they abandoned my model, gatekeeping features for the sake of segregation, i called it quits. The AWU2 has been perfect and besides the battery life, i get everything i need. I’m not an endurance athlete or anything of the sorts so 2 days of battery life is more than enough for me (2 days in full usage). Garmin are crazy and assholes, at the same time, with their prices and practices.
Same. I have a Garmin 7x that I use for everything. It tracks SUP very well
No experience with the Spacehawk but I use both a Garmin Fenix 7XSS on my wrist and a GPSMAP 67i, both are great.
thanks for review, i choose to go for fitbit charge as per reviews from https://www.youtube.com/@TheQuantifiedScientist/videos. I also had opportunity to user GARMIN Fenix 7X Sapphire Solar and it was amazing if you live quite a acitve lifestyle and have access to outdoor activities.
Personally went with a 7x pro sapphire solar, "used" in perfect condition (dont think it was actually used) for like £400, really like it, had to buy nylon strap though (from ebay for like 8 quid) and its really comfortable now. Had it for 20 odd days and charged it only once when i got it, still 8 days of battery left. MIPS is awesome.
Yeah, I switched from Apple Watch 6 to Garmin 7x Solar and never looked back. I’m an outdoorsy person, so that’s what this watch is supposed to do for me. The flashlight is really hyped up by the Garmin community, but it _does_ come in handy at times. I just don’t need to use it _that often_. Long lasting battery feature alone makes this watch worth whatever Apple feature has to offer with their iWatch series.
Depends on your priorities for the watch. My main priority is to have two weeks of battery power for the functionalities I use most often before recharging. I achieve this goal with the Fenix 7x Solar. It also depends on your expectation for the watch. I come from wearing a Tag Heuer, G-Shock, and Seiko watch. No fancy software on those and I have no problem with them designed as is. I also only like round faced watches.
I have the 7X, I would say the 7 Pro might be peak value during sales due to the current gen HR sensor.
I am interested in the MicroLED tech for sure as that looks promising, but don't need the LTE so this isn't a urgent need to replace my FENIX 7X. I think the 7 Pro when on sale (like the past Prime Day sale) is a compelling value right now. The Enduro 4 may be the future MIPS fan watch. I imagine the Fenix 9 will see the widespread adoption of MicroLED on the high end, and AMOLED on the less expensive end.
