Garmin Instinct Solar Tactical 3; 40mm. It has everything I need In terms of battery life (29 days), buttons because I do water sports (face doesn’t recognize fingers if wet) and the Normal activities such as strength, run, walk, mma, etc.

I actually looked at instinct 3 solar as well. But I am a bit afraid that the design is a bit to “rugged” as I want to use the watch for work as well. It would cost me around EUR 270 When comparing price would you still go for the Instinct 3 solar?

Instinct 3 solar tactical or Fenix 7x pro is what I use for weight lifting.

I went from AWU2 to Instinct 3 tactical and it’s been working out good for me. It calculates calories burned differently so that takes some time adjusting and getting used to. I work as a firefighter so AWU2 would always call someone when my coat was on so it’s nice to use a watch with health tracking. It’s not so much a “smart” watch other than providing notifications from your watch.

I just got an Enduro 3 yesterday and I switch back and fourth between an Instinct 3 tactical and Fenix 7x pro. What I noticed most right away was how much lighter and more comfortable the Enduro 3 is to wear. Great watch, no complaints

That's the watch I have (instinct 3, solar tactical), It's fantastic, wife has one of the AMOLED versions. It's no worse than the AMOLED for looking at all the stats, as long as you don't absolutley need bright colors for some odd reason. The battery life and always on screen make it a clear winner for me. I use it for sports tracking (Mainly runs, hikes, gym and cycling) and checking my recovery needed. I can't see anything more you'd ever need in a watch, just seems perfect. I'd had the instinct crossover for a few years before I bought this and it's still in utterly perfect condition, battery is still amazing. I work a physical and messy job, and I've worn it to work every day expecting it to get rather messed up. literally looks brand new, and i've accidently scraped it down brick walls and all kinds of sillyness. I only upgraded because I fancied trying out a solar one and loved the look of the tactical.

Any Garmin watch can do this what you need. The improvements have been very incremental in the past 3-4 years. ECG, microphone, LTE are not very useful, ignore them. Here are a few watches that stand out and I would buy for myself. I use Garmin watches since 2017, and had like 10 different models. I trail run, bike, and swim. Approx prices. For exercise outside, the 5 button setup with MIP screen is the best IMHO. Forerunner 255 is great price/performance, light, slim, does everything. $250 Enduro 3 is top of the line, latest tech, a few weeks battery life easily. But it is a big watch. Has maps and navigation. $800 Instinct 3 Solar Tactical has great battery life and looks cool (all black), is rugged. $450 Less optimal, I wouldnt buy: If you want more a smartwatch style, with bright amoled and touch screen first, check out the Vivoactive 6. But with sweat, sun etc. the buttons and MIP is much better in practice. Cheapest Maps would be Forerunner 955. You can expect 2-4 years from your watch.

I would go with Instinct 3 Solar 45mm, maybe the tactical if you like the design. It has great solar charging, great battery life, and you have a flashlight. The GPS switches better and you have all the latest features except maps. Unfortunately it is a little bit bigger, you have to check. Most people get used to the bigger size. Other option is the Forerunner 255s. It is a great watch, great feature set, good MIP screen, good battery life, and small size. If you can find it, you will find only the last available stock; it is not widely available anymore. Otherwise with the newer watches you would probably need to charge more often than once per week. Charging once per week is already very good.

Enduro 3 ~40 days (although lately my battery has been draining about 5-10% daily or at least it seems that way despite having not worn it in a while) Instinct 3 Tactical Solar ~40 days Tactix 7 Pro ~25 days

For what its worth, I owned the i3 solar tactical and loved it. No complaints whatsoever. I had the opportunity to buy my first ever fenix (f8 47mm solar) and I havent worn the i3 solar since. Its a lot of personal preference. The i3 is fantastic, rugged, long battery, great features. I just love my fenix. Feels premium, has premium material, I love the weight of it. You can't go wrong with either watch
