I'm not here to cast doubt on your experiences but I will add my experience with the PW2 has been quite the opposite. I'm not a construction worker but I'm by no means easy on my watch and have banged it against walls and door frames many times over and don't have anything but very superficial scratches that I honestly can't see unless I'm looking for them. Battery life on the other hand...
I once had a pw2. After 4 hours of activity tracking with gps the battery was flat. Had to charge every day. Went with Garmin and never looked back.
I went from a 41mm PW2 LTE to a 45mm PW4 LTE. For me the only applicable pros & cons were as follows: Cons: Unable to use any of my existing bands (I had about a dozen OEM bands including my favorite stretch band in the Sky Blue color) Existing chargers were now obsolete (had multiple chargers) Cost (not insignificant, especially when factoring in new bands & additional chargers) Pros: Battery life (The PW2 was starting to only last ~14 hrs before hitting the battery saver at 15%, but the PW4 has been lasting 60hrs before hitting the same mark) Screen Size (The 45mm size is truly perfect. It is far easier to use the OSK on the 45mm when needed than it was on the 41mm) Am I glad that I upgraded, yep. Am I still salty that Google didn't keep the Sky color as an option for the 45mm stretch bands now that they released those for the 45, damn right I am.
I've had the PW1 for 3 years until it shit the bed last month. Thought it was the battery so I took an old chicken PW1, switched out the battery but the screen wouldn't come on. Found one on Facebook Marketplace, bought it, and turns out I got a PW2 for $50
YMMV. I have a PW2 that I've used for swimming at a waterpark and in mountain rivers a few times. So far, no problems. I'm planning on using it in the ocean next week as well. However...I probably wouldn't do that if I didn't also have a PW3 as my primary watch. If water damage happens--and it can--you're screwed. It voids the warranty.
Interesting. I've had exactly the opposite experience. I can run a pre-measured 2 mile loop with both devices tracking, and my PW2 consistently reports several tenths less distance vs P9P accurately recording 2.00 miles
1000%. I did it. Pixel watch 2 41mm wifi to a 4 41mm wifi. It's a huge leap. The main thing for me is the screen. With way smaller bezels and a more domed screen underneath, it feels like a waaay bigger way. Then I'd also say battery life is better and the charging nodes being on the side is so much nicer. Lastly, having Gemini as the default instead of Google Assistant rocks
