Huawei - WATCH GT 2

I've a huawei GT2 for probably 5 years. Battery lasts for nearly two weeks still. I turn off the auto wake when you lift your arm and the screen is a simple black watch face with steps, date, time, day of the week and battery percentage. I swipe and see my sleep from the night before, swipe again and my steps and daily counts, swipe and easy access to selected contacts, one more swipe and uploaded audio (in my case fireman sam episodes for my kids bed time), another swipe and heart rate data (currently 77 bpm with an average of 70 for the day. Last swipe gets me the weather -3 at the moment with clear skies and full moon. Of course you can swipe the other way and get the weather first if you like and change the order of everything. The best feature though is the flash light. With young kids it is the best way to navigate the house late at night. There are loads of other features but these are a few of my favorite things.... Not sure how I much I paid for this but it wasn't more than €150. There are newer versions of now. Before this one I had the more expensive one that let you connect to Strava and whatsapp etc... but you had to charge it every day or two. Who needs that when you have a phone. i have a watch gt 2 since 2020. does it take new updates of the heart rate sensor? it was truseen 3.5 back then. did it take the new updates? i think there is truseen 5.5 by now. (how can i check if mine got the update?)

I have in the past but now I use a dedicated bike computer. There are some well within your budget that have maps and would be way better than trying to navigate using a small watch screen. There are a couple of Magene computers you can get on AliExpress that are highly rated for the $$. If you are really committed to having a watch, there are a lot of Garmin competitors that would work. I'm thinking Amazfit Trex (or one of the many other watches in the range), Huawei GT etc. off the top of my head.

Functionality wise, you're gonna have to choose.

If you are concerned about battery life, we recommend a smartwatch from a Chinese manufacturer. If you care about your health, the Huawei GT series is the one for you.I can recommend it. The best one for everyday use is the amazfit. I own the GTR3pro and am very happy with it.

Huawei sounds like a good option for you. It automatically syncs with Apple Health, battery life is great and the stats are pretty accurate. Oh, and the price is also not too expensive (for the GT series, that is). Another option could be Garmin, but their prices are high.
