Hi! I recently switched to Polar Pacer Pro and I can recommend it but mind that's a sport watch and you have manual buttons (as in Garmin)

Depending on your preferences, I would choose Polar's ecosystem. It has everything you need for an athlete and a regular activity tracker. Garmin takes this more in the direction of a smartwatch and also has a lot of unnecessary stuff that you hardly need. Garmin's watches are more impressive and have a payment feature and built-in music (spotify app, which is so bad that you can barely use it). When choosing a watch, think about what you value most in your watch. Weight, appearance, durability, etc. I used to have a watch that weighed about 80g. I didn't like wearing it 24/7. When running, I couldn't get it tight enough on my wrist to be unnoticeable. While I was sleeping, it felt like a kettlebell was tied to my hand. Nowadays I use Polar Pacer Pro (I hate the amoled screen) for running, cycling, hockey, gym and (rucking). I don't need maps, so this is really good and light. Although I won't show this off at the bar counter. I have used Polar, Garmin and Suunto. Each time I have returned to Polar after a few months of experimentation. My apologies for the google translator lol

As an addition: Polar's cardio load status is much more accurate and realistic than Garmin's training readiness. Often, while Garmin claims that I should train hard, I have already lost my night's sleep and when I go to bed my resting heart rate is high. In these situations, Polar has been more accurate and indicated that the load should be lightened.

I haven't looked at the calc methods yet, but I'm currently trialling Whoop and Oura with my Polar Pacer Pro. I only have 7 days of data so far, as you can see, correlation is high but Polar HRV is always 10-20ms higher. A late, but sober night on day 2. Alcohol on day 5 and a little bit on day 6... I'm primarily doing this for sleep data, but when my legs aren't playing up I run, hence the Polar device.

Long-time Apple Watch user here; got an H10 ~1 year ago and a Pacer Pro recently. (Apple Watch is great, but also quite expensive.) Main reasons why I chose Polar: - Accuracy: H10 is the “gold standard” HR wearable - Science-base: I love that they have published white papers for all their features - Privacy: including data storage in EU - Running training support: H10 + Pacer Pro + Flow give me basically everything I need to support my running training - Price and value for money

I have had my Apple Watch series 3 for over 7 years, and it is approaching end-of-life (battery is dying =( ). I really like it, and HR accuracy is pretty good but it is not H10-level. I got H10 last Black Friday + Pacer Pro this Black Friday for 239 GBP total. The Apple Watch series 11 starts at 369 GBP; the Apple Watch SE 3 starts at 219 GBP. I like the Apple apps (Health / Fitness / Workouts). If you need additional data capabilities for Apple Watch, you may need additional apps, and may need to pay extra. Hope this helps

polar has a cardio load (is how hard your training was over the last days compared to your average), a nightly recharge (basically bio battery), a sleeping index (1-100), and a boost by sleep number (calculates the times, workouts will fit the best in the day, and when is the best time for bed) I don't know if all these metrics will exist with the loop, but i have the polar pacer pro, which has the same sensor as far as I read

can you now add a workout in polar flow, which automatically takes the HR data which were recorded during the missed training? as far as i read, this is possible on whoop and helio

The Polar Vantage M3 is on sale for 299€ where I live (Grit X2 378€) which is a good price and I bought it. I am happy with the purchase and can easily recommend it to especially all beginners (Fitspark, nightly recharge and overall an easy to use system). I have previously had the Pacer Pro (very good basic whatch) but like the M3 more. I have also a Suunto 9 Peak pro and the Race. Both Suuntos are good watches, but I wanted to try Polar again. No regrets so far and it will be interesting to see the comming software updates which are said to be released by the end of the year.

The HR tracking on my pacer pro works good enough that I now only bother wearing my H10 when rowing or cycling because of the wrist movement/position.

polar pacer pro. i found an open box one for very cheap on ebay. im broke and it was the cheapest watch i could find with the core features i wanted. i probably would have gotten the newest garmin forerunner 2xx if i had more money but honestly don’t know if i would have used any of the extra features over the polar, but the oled screen would be nice

Yes it does. I currently have my Polar Pacer pro and verity sense linked to my flow account. You may have to manually change in the flow settings which device is linked (correction: selected to pair) when you want to sync data (it will just use whichever device you last synced unless you change it).

The Ignite 2 and Vantage M have metal bumps on the back as part of the sensor. The Pacer sensor is flat and non-metallic. If you are at all prone to watch rashes, your skin will likely be happier with the Pacer. If you like touch screens it could be worth trying to get a used Ignite 3. I have one now and it is my favorite watch I've ever owned. It's flat and plastic on the back, has most of the major features, decent battery life, and feels very thin and lightweight compared to the Pacer.

I'm a woman with small wrists, and I really like the Polar Ignite 3. It is small, thin front-to-back, and lightweight. I don't need something as dainty as the Garmin Lily 2 - I just need something that doesn't feel big and heavy and clunky. I didn't have a great fit with the Polar Pacer Pro because I like elastic bands and it was heavy enough it would flop around on the band, and thick enough front-to-back that it felt "big" on my wrist. But the Polar Ignite 3 (and also the Polar Unite) are thin and light enough that they don't feel too big even on my tiny little wrists.

I started with Polar M400, then Polar M430 (which is now with my father in law) and now Polar Pacer Pro and my wife has the Polar Ignite 2... After starting my running path with polar, because of a friend I decided to stay. It works for me. I don't like apple or samsung devices. Maybe some day I will change to Garmin or Suunto, but now I am happy with polar.

Sunnto is chinese owned but has a better app and better integration with third party apps. Plus the social aspect is really cool if you have a lot of friedns with suunto hardware.  Polar on the other hand is finnsh, but their app really sucks. Is cluttered, unintuitive. I really like my polar pacer tho. But i sort of regret switching from suunto. Not a helpful post, i know 😀

I ended up ordering the Polar Pacer and H9 this week. I would get the Unite, but I was worried the crappy battery life would make me angry like the A360 did. I am a huge fan of Polar's heart sensor and the app, that's what I'm here for... I never purposely used GPS but I noticed my phone would somehow track my movement during a bike ride when the watch was tracking a workout and connected (for text notifications).

Your reaction "LOL First of all, if you get up to 90% of your max heart rate in less than 30 seconds you sound quite unfit to me." says just one thing - you ran out of the arguments and now make it personal insults. But if that really says something about anybody, it's about you. Just few last things to mention I tested Ignite, Ignite 2, Polar Pacer and Verity Sense vs H10. All of them on the wrist and the bicep. Same unreliable results for stairs workout. I don't care what TQS or DSC or you think about this. I did all of these tests in the same method (that you don't need to know for it to be reliable) with N=1 and they are 100% reliable for me. But the most important thing. Please, do not ever give anyone advise on how to train in HRZ as you have no idea what you're talking about. Training in HRZ2 is exactly what it says - being in HRZ2 most of the time. Being half time in HRZ1 and half in HRZ3 doesn't make your training on average HRZ2. My watch shows HRZ in % not in bpm. So 90% is the limit of zones 4/5. If I need to stay in Z4, i don't go over 90%. Where you got that I don't understand that zone4 is 80-90% or zone5 90-100% only you know, but from what I read it looks like you've been training your whole life not understanding how heart rate zone training works. Sad to hear, but you can thank me for explaining this to you.

Yes, the Pacer is the newest of the three watches you mentioned and sounds like it would be a decent choice. Both the Ignite and the Vantage M series are now on version 3. You could use your H10 with any of these watches to get more accurate heart rate data. There is no official way of importing workouts done with a non-Polar device into Polar Flow. There are third party apps that can kind of do this, but the training load may not be calculated. The easiest way would be to record your bike rides on both your Garmin and your Polar device.

If your goal is training, I don't think I'd get the Samsung. Seems to me like you'd be paying for "smart watch" features (which I personally don't want) when you want "training / health monitoring" as the primary function. Polar Pacer is $300 USD. The Pro is $350. Polar Unite is $200 USD. Probably also worth looking at Sunto (Run) and Coros (Pace 3) too. Both under $250 USD. No mater what you're thinking about getting, if you live in the US you should absolutely wait a month and buy on Black Friday. But if you're looking for the best value, Polar probably won't be the right brand (especially if you live in the US). I like their watches (currently have a GritX Pro1). But their pricing strategy seems is pretty odd. They aren't on par with a company like Apple, but they seem to have adopted an Apple-light pricing strategy.

I have the Polar Pacer - I mostly just walk, cardio at the gym, and weight lift 4 times a week. It's been great for what I need. And the GPS tracking does well when I walk my neighborhood or in the hills. It also connects to my H10 as well.

Well, I am not competing, far from it, started climbing 3 years ago, I just have a plain polar pacer from my skating activities. While climbing, I often check my HR to see if I have rested enough in between climbs. Just a visual check, nothing major happening. I am not even sure what I should look for, but after a climb, I am maybe at 130-140+ (I am mid 40s), and I wait for my heart to drop down closer to 100-110 to start a new climb if the projected climb requires come muscles.. I can be doing this totally wrong.. so, that's my very non scientific and non medical input. Though.. from my also non very scientific feedback, I inadvertently tested holds against my watch, the rim... did not like it at all..
