Although it's much smaller, I prefer my venu 3s over my galaxy watch 7, will probably upgrade to the venu 3 sooner or later, but for now this is perfect
r/GarminWatches β’ My first Garmin watch after Apple Watch SE2 ->Garmin. I have both. Heart tracking on GW is a joke
r/GalaxyWatch β’ Choosing Between the Galaxy Watch 7 and Garmin Forerunner 255 for Fitness and Health Tracking ->From an older Galaxy Watch? Yeah the Pixel Watch will be more accurate. From a Galaxy Watch 7 or 8? It will be roughly the same. GPS was an area of difference but the GW7 has been improved with updates and the GW8 is pretty much par with PW. For most cases any of the major smart watches like the GW, PW or even AW are close. So I wouldn't make your decision on that basis. Comparing the Galaxy Watch and Pixel Watch I'd look at what device you're pairing it with and the unique features each offers.
r/PixelWatch β’ anyone switched from galaxy watch? ->Worked fine on my GW7. Guy who made it put out a video walk through recently with the latest way to do this. https://youtu.be/xSjURFKQB2A?si=ZrinWNT3nhN3yLDG
r/WearOS β’ Pixel Phone... Samsung Watch, which health tracker to use? ->Hello, friends, I am writing this post to express my frustration, disappointment, and regret for buying Galaxy Watch 7 as a runner. I am a long time runner by now, and fairly advanced. Before, I used to use Garmin Fenix 5S which lasted me almost five years before it gave out. Buying a new Garmin was scary expensive, so I decided to give Galaxy Watch a go as the tight integration with the smartphone was a big selling point for me. Regret was almost instant. While I won't argue that if you are a very casual runner or a beginner runner, you might have your needs met, if you are a serious runner you won't do well with this watch. Let's begin with the fact that there's little to no workout customisation. On Garmin, you can very easily create runs and customise them as you want: not only set desired pace, distance, or time goals, but also to easily segment your runs using those parameters and have your watch guide you. The Galaxy Watch offers little to no customisation in this regard. It has a very simple interval training function, and a very disappointing "Coach", which has artificial and absurd limitations that I struggle to understand why are they even in place. For example, you can only select pre-set run types, most of them force a warm up and cool down. For example, my personal best for 3KM is 11:15. I wanted to train to keep around that or beat the time. With Garmin, it's ridiculously easy. With Samsung Health, the watch won't let you set a guided run for 3KM that'd be faster than 20 minutes? WHY? Furthermore, the GPS is bad. Strava is almost anecdotally known at this point to always steal 10-20 meters for your runs, but with Galaxy Watch I'd end up actually have 100-200 meters ADDED to my run. The reason is that Strava actually uses the real-life data they have on distances and compare it with your track, and then adjust accordingly. This shows just how inaccurate Galaxy Watch tracking is. And the biggest issue of all: Watch UI 8 is supposedly going to bring a Garmin-like adaptive running coach to the watch. Yet, it's being purposefully withheld from Watch 7 (which is literally the latest model before Watch 8) in an attempt to force people into buying Watch 8 because Samsung isn't meeting their sales expectations. While they released a beta for select countries, there is absolutely no reason to put this only redeeming feature for runners behind a lock as all of the calculations are done by the app and not watch software. And even so, those who got access to the feature say it's still heavily based on beginners and completely useless for serious runners. I ended up selling the Watch 7 at a loss and bought Garmin Instinct 2. Instantly rediscovered the joy of proper running features. Mind you, these watches cost around the same price as a Galaxy Watch. So do think twice. The disappointment and regret is immeasurable.
r/GalaxyWatch β’ Think twice about Galaxy Watch if you are a runner. ->I appreciate your reply. I do agree that as SMART-watch, it was amazing. But as a fitness watch, for me, it was horrible. I am just upset that they made a watch that otherwise could be a great all around device with its only drawback being battery life, but they completely neglect their running features
r/GalaxyWatch β’ Think twice about Galaxy Watch if you are a runner. ->Heya, do you have more comparisons to the venu 3? I just got a GW7 and wondering if I should return and get a Venu 3...I primarily care about sleep, hrv, energy, battery score (and tracking workouts is nice). I love the interface and smart watch features of the GW7 but a little wary its garbage for fitness/health
r/GalaxyWatch β’ Quantified scientist dropped first health tracking reviews of watch7 and watch7 ultra ->I have the 7 and track everynight with it. Works great, I had the pixel prior, but google try hard to sell you the FITBIT thing, it annoyed me.
r/Android β’ What is the best watch for Android currently? ->galaxy watch 7 has more features and options than pixel watch. If you are into exercising, for example, you cannot edit for how long you run in a threadmill in the pixel, but you can easily do in the samsung! there are many things in the pixel that you cannot change. The HEALTH APP in samsung has WAY MORE details and its FREE
r/Android β’ What is the best watch for Android currently? ->The Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 already shows a number value (ie. 120/80) for BP using the optical sensor only. That watch requires you to βcalibrateβ it once a month by measuring your BP with a regular cuff (not included) and providing the value as it tests your BP at the same time. How accurate it is I donβt know.
r/AppleWatch β’ Apple Watch Ultra 3 - New Details ->I'm assuming the level of accuracy is poor enough Apple remains unwilling to do it... Samsung having an inaccurate watch isn't news but if Apple sells tens or hundreds of millions of watches that are inaccurate it becomes a huge news story in the press.
r/AppleWatch β’ Apple Watch Ultra 3 - New Details ->You can see [here](https://old.reddit.com/r/smartwatch/comments/1db9i4s/quick_minireview_of_huawei_watch_fit_3_vs_huawei/) and [here](https://old.reddit.com/r/smartwatch/comments/1e8kcg3/quick_minireview_of_the_garmin_venu_3_compared/) some of my previous mini-reviews. This time I was rather busy when the Huawei arrived so the review is actually after about 3 months of real use and in the meantime I also got some time to compare against the other models in the title. The features that are (still) most important to me: - very comfortable to wear and very clear to read, preferably nice-looking without being βtoo muchβ - reliable and preferably with long battery life - reasonably safe/private with my info/data - ideally not locked in a closed ecosystem - right now I find essential the ability to read notifications and answer calls from it - good data quality coming from watch and good presentation of it (on watch but even more so in the app); that has to include good sleep and nap detection - acceptable value for money - ideally some form of safe payment. Comfort β for me from the shortlist in the title the best is Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro (HWF4P), then Venu 3 and then around the same point FR255 and GW7 β but in fact the βnormalβ Huawei Watch Fit 4/3 is smaller (and more comfortable) and Watch Fit 2 even more so. Display β here things get more complex, on paper HWF4P should have the brightest display but even after the most recent firmware update (which mentioned things regarding max brightness) that does not seem to be the case, in super-sunny places it is somehow bright but Samsung GW7 sometimes looks the brightest and Venu 3 comes close 2nd - so for the moment HWF4P only gets 3rd place. Even that one is somehow debatable, since in fact under super-super-bright sunlight the most readable is by far the trans-reflective (MIP) display from the FR255. From all I still like most Venu 3 where I have a more reliable and fast power-up of the face from AoD (also I like the [face](https://imgur.com/G7HHIG8) itself the most). Here I must also mention that Huawei is the only one that does not have a way to have larger fonts and that IMHO most of the faces available for HWF4P are not designed too clean / elegant / highly visible. EDIT: one other thing that is worth mentioning is the general size vs display size vs "feel size" - the 3 round watches seem similar in size (as they somehow are) but feel a little different, GW7 "feels" the largest even if in fact is the smallest overall (44.6mm = 1.75in) yet has by far the largest display (38.1mm = 1.5in) while Venu 3 somehow feels much smaller even if it is larger (45mm = 1.78in) but with a smaller display (36mm = 1.4in). FR255 is even larger (46mm = 1.79in) yet the screen is even smaller (33mm = 1.3in). Huawei is rectangular 44.5mm x 40mm with an effective display around 35mm x 30mm. Usability on the beach or swimming in the pool in bright sunlight β FR255 is actually the best since on top of the MIP display it also has the 5-button navigation (and no touchscreen), on the other models you need first to lock the touchscreen or make it lock automatically when you start a workout. Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro now has a diving mode - but I did not personally test that β which would make it a competitor for Apple Watch Ultra and Fenix 8 models. I used HWF4P a lot for swimming and the new βDrainβ function (similar to Apple Watch) was very handy. Battery life β FR255 is again the best but HWF4P now comes 2nd (and 1st from the AMOLED displays, I suspect that βwake to AoDβ instead of βwake to full faceβ has some role in this) and the 3rd reasonably close is Venu 3, while GW7 is a very distant last (in the same level as Apple Watch models). Depending on how many workouts I do I can easily get 5-6 days from FR255 and about 4 with HWF4P, and Venu 3 is coming just a little behind (all with AoD, extra brightness from Venu 3 clearly takes a larger toll than the one in HWF4P). For me personally the Huawei models are still better for sleep detection, clearly better than the Garmin / Samsung / Apple β one reason is the comfort on wearing it and another is the fact that is not so crazy about fixed sleep hours as Garmin (and Apple) are. I still consider the Huawei ecosystem reasonably private, possibly at the same level as Garmin. Samsung is worse, Apple is for the moment a tad better and Google is probably the worst. For the moment my sleep data stays with Huawei, my workout data with Garmin (and partially Apple which gets some basic info on each workout in the Fitness app). From the shortlist in the title only the FR255 does not have a mic/speaker so it canβt take calls, all other can, but you can still reject/accept on FR255 and then talk on the phone β I mention this since it has the best way to do it using buttons while for the other depends on touchscreen (and for instance on Venu 3 it is sometimes weird/laggy) β probably models like Fenix / FR570 / FR970 are best for calls from Garmin. Initially Huawei modes were the loudest for calls but Venu 3 also got an update and is now almost as loud, Huawei and Samsung GW7 still seem to be better for calls when in a noisy environment. Data quality β GPS β in my tests it looks like FR255 is the best, GW7 most often 2nd, then Venu 3 and HWF4P almost equal β Huawei did a serious progress here from the poor GPS on Watch Fit 2 and only average on Fit 3. EDIT2: On the HWF4P you can load the region/country/continent maps on your watch and then start any GPS activity (like hiking or outdoor running or similar) and then you can scroll up from the main activity screen and get a map of where you are and you can "walk back" to the point where you started (or any other markers that you set), but is not clear if already possible to do full "turn by turn navigation" (as on FR9xx or Fenix/Epix and so on). Data quality β HR β my feeling is that Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro is first, then Venu 3 and GW7 but with latest firmware FR255 does not seem far behind. Huawei has added NFC to Fit 4 Pro (and ONLY ONE other model of the rest of Fit4!) so all of the watches in the title now have it, however HWF4P only has payments in 2-3 countries in Europe at this point (I believe Germany, Austria and maybe 1-2 more). Samsung is probably best with Google Pay, main downside for Garmin seems to be that is locking the payment with PIN much too easy if you keep your watch a little bit less tight on your hand but is perfectly usable if you are left in the swimming pool even for the FR255 (which does not have touch, but in fact in the water the touchscreen is not a plus). Value for money β I got all of those on some very good deals so right now it might be a little hard if you want to pick just one β I find that I use the least GW7 (short battery life), I use the FR255 (by far the least expensive) for all workouts and pool/beach stuff and Venu 3 gets most used for daily wear while Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro is most used for sleep. Alternatives at this point β not really many with better value for money, for rectangular watches Amazfit Bip 6 is probably one but is less comfortable and IMHO software is inferior to Huawei. In fact, for non-sports use Huawei Watch Fit 4 (or 3 if you find it half-price) could be an alternative for many people. On the other direction in value for money Garmin Venu X1 is almost certainly better than HWF4P but for at least 3x the price, and latest Apple Watch Ultra at 4x, and HWF4P is more comfortable than Venu X1 and much more comfortable than AWU. For round screens if money is not that much of an issue Garmin FR570 (42mm or 47mm) or FR970 have brighter screen and better GPS (plus sapphire screen with DLC bezel, advanced maps and separate flashlight on FR970).
r/smartwatch β’ Quick mini-review of Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro and other light sports-watches (Garmin Venu3 and FR255, Samsung Galaxy Watch 7) ->I've gone between them, most recent were pixel 3 and Galaxy watch 7. I use for regular cardio workouts and outdoor hiking/bike riding. I've not noticed meaningful differences between them. I've stick with Galaxy watches because the pixel watch still lacks features like automatically turning on the display with a new notification (on pixel watch you need to tap or lift to wake within a couple seconds of the notification to see it), on the pixel watch you can't re-order the apps in the app tray, and I didn't like that the rotating button long-press couldn't be changed from activating Google wallet. What aspects do you feel might not be accurate in tends of health and fitness tracking? The pixel watch tends to be more accurate for heart rate. Fitbit is now accurate for sleep tracking, but I never cared as much about sleep tracking because there's nothing I can do about a previous night sleep. What I like more about the pixel watch: The UI feels smoother and more responsive. I think it looks more aesthetically pleasing and less clunky. I like the rotating button for scrolling etc. (I never cared for Samsung's rotating crown dial). And I really love that notifications show as a vertical scrolling list as opposed to the (horrible) full-screen horizonal-scrolling cards on Samsung watches.
r/PixelWatch β’ anyone switched from galaxy watch? ->I feel like they didn't change anything except the case. The battery bump is as minor as it was from year to year with the round ones. And it didn't really get any new features that require new hardware. Glucose is still missing (despite the patent) If this doesn't change by next year, I'm jumping ship to OnePlus. (I try to upgrade every 2-3 years.) (Currently on the 7.)
r/GalaxyWatch β’ Galaxy Watch 8 / Ultra β Honest Thoughts After Launch ->I wear a Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 (I chose it because it made sense for me since I use a Samsung Galaxy phone and Samsung Galaxy earbuds). I got used to it fast, it just became a part of what I wear every day, and I love it. I use it primarily to track my workouts at the gym, steps, and my sleep schedule. To me it's comfortable and useful, I really like it and def recommend you to try π
r/AutismInWomen β’ Do any of you wear watches/fitness trackers ->The new design of the galaxy watch 8 is beautiful. I don't know where the hate comes from. In person is looks much better than the galaxy watch 7 in my opinionΒ
r/GalaxyWatch β’ Galaxy Watch 8 opinion ->just picked up a Galaxy Watch 7 at a great price. coming from an apple watch 6. I am really liking it so far.
r/GalaxyWatch β’ Switching to Galaxy from Apple, how does the Galaxy Watch Compare? ->Have a watch 7, ordered 44mm Watch 8. Just looks better than the classic imho, sits flatter and I have to monitor my heart due to a health condition, so I pretty much wear mine all day and charge it whilst getting ready of a morning. Nothing will compare to the battery of watch 5 pro tbf.
r/GalaxyWatch β’ Galaxy Watch 8 / Ultra β Honest Thoughts After Launch ->Only thing Garmin has over the galaxy watch 7 is battery life.. The Garmin ui is hideous, so out dated, and now they wanna charge a subscription for newer features and more detailed info, but as far as smart features wear os is light years ahead of Garmin, also galaxy watch has sleep apnea, AGEs index, you can reply to messages with voice, if you're a runner Garmin does have better in depth info for you Thoe
r/GalaxyWatch β’ Choosing Between the Galaxy Watch 7 and Garmin Forerunner 255 for Fitness and Health Tracking ->I would try to check several times a day, and see where the discrepancy appears. That is to pinpoint if it is specific stuff that one incorrectly miss or count. I mean it could be either some arm-movements your Versa incorrectly counts as steps, or it could be some steps the GW7 misses.
r/smartwatch β’ Fitness watch recommendations, don't need all the features of a smartwatch ->I have a Samsung Galaxy S23U and GW 7. Watches are the only sector where other companies have lagged behind Apple. The responsiveness and Smoothness of Apple watch are unmatched. Also the sensors are much more accurate than the competition. So YES. Its definitely a downgrade from Apple watch to Galaxy watch. Samsung needs to step up its game like it did with its phones. Btw its the same processor in the upcoming GW8. So things won't change it seems. They need to integrate well.
r/GalaxyWatch β’ Switching to Galaxy from Apple, how does the Galaxy Watch Compare? ->I own both the watch 7 (same internals as 8), and a watch 6 classic. Both are the 40/43mm versions, so same screen and battery sizes. Battery life is very very similar, so "especially battery life" is a bit of a overstatement to say the least
r/GalaxyWatch β’ Galaxy Watch 8 / Ultra β Honest Thoughts After Launch ->I'm on a watch 7
r/Swimming β’ Someone uses Galaxy Watch 7 to track swimming training? ->My last 4 watches have been Samsung Galaxy watches. Hasd the? Watch 6 classic but the lag was bothering me. Bought the watch 7 and pixel watch 3 at the same time and the watch 7 is going back as the pixel watch 7 screen , health tracking , battery life are all much better . Watch 7:battery only lasts a day if that. The pixel watch 3 is a two day watch . Now I do have a Samsung phone so the timer and do π« t disturb don't sync with the the phone. The pixel OS is a lot more mature and smoother feeling to me.
r/PixelWatch β’ Any reviews for the pixel watch 3 that are not just upgrade reviews? ->I'm sure it's great watch but I don't think it's better than the Galaxy watches. I have the pixel watch 3 in a Galaxy watch six seven and eight.
r/Android β’ The Google Pixel Watch 4 is the Android watch to beat ->If you're very serious about fitness and working out, Garmin, no question. I like the GW for day to day, but I put a Garmin on my wrist for the gym and runs.
r/GalaxyWatch β’ Choosing Between the Galaxy Watch 7 and Garmin Forerunner 255 for Fitness and Health Tracking ->I had the Galaxy watch 7 for almost 3 months. I returned it cuz the battery life is trash and it would only activate when I looked at my wrist like 6/10 of the time and when it did activate it took a split second longer than I would hope for. I returned it and then got the vivoactive 5. Best decision I made in a long time.
r/GarminWatches β’ Galaxy watch 7 or Garmin ->I use my Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 and it's pretty dope for tracking swims. Like others, anything that tracks calories won't be super accurate, so I prefer to just stick to distances ie 1600m swim.
r/Swimming β’ Which watches would you recommend for tracking swimming? ->The life on my Galaxy watch 7 even with the always-on display off and some other modifications, only lasts about one day and a couple hours maybe. I do have to charge it once a day which is a pretty big disappointment for such an expensive watch.
r/GalaxyWatch β’ Which Galaxy Watch has the best battery life? ->I love the light weight of the helio and 24/7 health tracking. I had a galaxy 7 watch, utter failure. So far after one week it tracks my sleep well, even naps. First device I've used that actually benefits me by telling me how rested I am, and being accurate about it. Still only the end of my first week but have not experienced any glitches and am pleasantly surprised by the features. I think I'm keeping it.
r/amazfit β’ Amazfit helio strap - Reviews/Opinions ->I use the Samsung Watch 7. Its sensors are very accurate, and I also link it to the Hevy app. In that app, I have my workout routines, and I can control them from the watch while it tracks my heart rate during the session. The integrations with other apps are excellent, but I mainly use it for that, as well as for jumping rope and walking. No watch is necessary for exercisingβit can be a useful complement, but you donβt really need it.
r/naturalbodybuilding β’ What is the recommended fitness watch for the gym? ->I use a Galaxy Watch 7. If it's totally charged, it'll have about 55-65% left after an hour swim. I have a Firesara fabric swim cap that I'm liking right now.
r/Swimming β’ How do you record your swims? ->Pixel Watch is essentially Fitbit health tracking, and they kept the app interface. I really liked it. My last Fitbit was a Versa (i had 4 different tmodels over many years). I now have a Samsung 7 Watch with a Samsung phone. The interface on the phone is clunky, and you really have to use 3 different apps Samsung Health, Samsung Fit, and Samsung Health Monitor. The interface on the watch itself is decent and customizable. I haven't used the Pixel Watch, so I don't know how easy it is to use. As for accuracy, I don't see much difference between my watch and my old Versa, but I'm an old part and not a competitive athlete and it's fine for my purposes as was the Versa. If I were a competitive athlete, there might be something better than either the Pixel or Samsung.
r/GalaxyWatch β’ are galaxy watches good health/fitness trackers? ->Just ordered a watch 7 for 150 on Amazon to upgrade a watch 5
r/GalaxyWatch β’ Galaxy Watch 8 / Ultra β Honest Thoughts After Launch ->i've used the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and now the Watch 7. Both have been pretty accurate. i don't like Samsung Health's display of swim stats (it's just long list of 25's with no indication of when i rested), so i use [swim.com](http://swim.com) instead of the native app. [Swim.com](http://Swim.com) does not track kickboard laps at all and drilling and/or sculling, for reasons that should be self-evident, is hit or miss. You can, however, go into "Drill mode" in the middle of a swim and manually tell it how many kicking/drilling laps you will do.
r/Swimming β’ Wearable devices for swim tracking ->i've used the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and now the Watch 7 and been happy with both. i don't like how the Samsung Health app reports a swim as a series of 25s with no indication of when i rested, so i use the swim.com app. i have read that Samsung will not stand behind the warranty for water damage, but i, and many others, take that risk and i've had no problems thus far.
r/Swimming β’ Best Swim Watch ->i use a Samsung Galaxy watch. Had the 5, just upgraded to the 7. Samsung Health will track swimming, and even now tracks kickboard/drill laps, but i don't really like how it presents the stats as just a long string of 25s (altho, i had to use it the other day because of the upgrade and i forgot i had to set up/log in to [swim.com](http://swim.com) on my new watch, and i see that they do now show were i've rested, but it's still just a long list of 25s). It also dropped/missed 10 lengths last time i used it. So i use the app swim.com. i find it very reliable and also, when it does miss a lap, or mistake strokes, it is editable afterward.
r/Swimming β’ What device do u use to track your swimming ->I've had all kinds of watches including Galaxy Watch and now a Garmin. If becoming more active/healthy is a priority then Garmin will for sure be the right choice. If 3rd party apps are more important then pick the Galaxy Watch. With your budget I'd recommend checking out the Garmin Forerunner 165. It's not bulky, has an AMOLED touch screen and better battery life. The GW7 is a good smartwatch though not saying it's bad at all, both are good choices.
r/GarminWatches β’ Galaxy watch 7 or Garmin ->I've got both the GW7 and the PW3. * The stock watch faces for each brand will refresh auto brightness on the display once per second in ambient mode, whereas 3rd party watch faces only update once per minute, or in active mode. This is a feature for me since I would consider using the PW3 stock faces, but I would not use any of the Samsung stock faces. * The PW3 complications (heart rate/steps/etc) on the stock watchfaces also update once per second in ambient mode whereas the GW7 do not. * GW7 has sapphire glass which is a lot more scratch resistant. I've scratched my PW3 already (after a week). * The PW3 'wears smaller' compared to the GW7 in that the lug to lug distance of the band designs are smaller (roughly 3mm on 44/45mm set). This helps if your wrist is smaller. * You miss out on the pixel camera controller....which is not a big deal. * If you care about health tracking data, it's portable from samsung health to fitbit via health connect, but some things you can't port back (like steps). You also lose certain details like time stamps of activities. * Battery life is roughly the same between the 44mm GW7 and 45mm PW3 * Notifications on the GW7 will wake the screen to the notification (e.g. a text to google messages will open the app and display the notification) whereas the PW3 will vibrate and activate a brief tilt to wake period that will display a short form notification with an option to open the app. * Layouts for the app drawer/quick tiles are not user customizable on the PW3. Overall I think the GW7 is more robust, but I really prefer the aesthetics of the PW3.
r/PixelWatch β’ Considering switching from Galaxy Watch to Pixel Watch 3 just because it looks so nice. What's the pros and cons I'll be facing? ->My galaxy watch 7 give almost 2 days of battery life while apple watch 10 usually used to die by end of day or by night
r/GalaxyWatch β’ Switching to Galaxy from Apple, how does the Galaxy Watch Compare? ->My PW3 screen is broken, I went back to the GW7 due to the sapphire.
r/PixelWatch β’ Considering switching from Galaxy Watch to Pixel Watch 3 just because it looks so nice. What's the pros and cons I'll be facing? ->I'm not sure anything really compared to the Apple watch yet. I currently have the Galaxy watch 7 and I'm happy with it but it doesn't have the app support that the Apple watch does. From what I've used though, I think it's the best Android option. Pixel may be better if youre using a Pixel phone.
r/Android β’ What is the best watch for Android currently? ->Now that Samsung has officially announced the new Galaxy Watch lineup, hereβs my honest take on it: If you're still using the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic or anything older, this yearβs models are actually a *huge* upgrade β performance, sensors, hardware, software, and especially battery life (thanks to the new chip) all see solid improvements. So yeah, definitely worth considering an upgrade if you're coming from one of the older generations. But if you're currently on the **Galaxy Watch 7**, moving to the **Watch 8** just isnβt that exciting. The upgrades are *very* minor: * A bit more storage * Wear OS 6 (but Watch 7 will get this too) * A few new health metrics like the antioxidant index Unless you *really* want things like the physical rotating bezel, or just need that extra storage, it's probably better to hold off. As for the **Galaxy Watch Ultra**β¦ honestly, Iβd say skip it. Compared to the Ultra 2024, itβs basically the same watch: * Same design * Same sensors * Same functionality * The only βnewβ stuff? A blue color option, extra storage, and Wear OS 6 pre-installed β all of which the 2024 model will get too (minus the blue, which you can fix with a 3rd-party strap anyway). So yeahβ¦ feels like you're just paying more for almost the same thing. π Just my two cents β curious what others think!
r/GalaxyWatch β’ Galaxy Watch 8 / Ultra β Honest Thoughts After Launch ->I use the Galaxy watch 7 and am really happy with it
r/Swimming β’ What watches is everyone using to track? ->Never choose Garmin. They are overly complicated to set up. It's almost impossible to figure out how to use the damn thing. The battery life is good but it in no way makes up for the poorer user interface. Buy a Samsung. They actually have an actual operating system on their watch, not just firmware with a couple fancy features like the stupid garmins.
r/GalaxyWatch β’ Choosing Between the Galaxy Watch 7 and Garmin Forerunner 255 for Fitness and Health Tracking ->My Samsung Galaxy 7 watch works quite well to track workouts in a pinch. Otherwise Polar Verity Sense is the tracker I use with the bike.
r/pelotoncycle β’ Peloton with fitness tracker (not Fitbit)? ->I have both watches now and am testing them both out. I have found the heart rate tracking is the same on both on my treadmill today. Sleep stages a very close and sleep timing are both the same. Galaxy watch does stress tracking during the day but not at night like Garmin does. It's unfortunate because that is how I tell if what I ate, drank or late exercise affects my sleep. I don't need to answer the phone or messages on my wrist so I don't care much about that. The energy score does not change all day on the Galaxy but does on Garmin body battery which is nice. The sleep apnea function only uses 2 nights and the shuts itself off. It does not monitor every night. I didn't know this when I purchased the watch. I'm gonna try an outdoor walk and a strength training session this evening. The Garmin app is stronger in that you can get better coaching plans, find an event and have the watch suggest training for it as the event draws near. There are also suggested running plans each day based on your metrics.
r/GalaxyWatch β’ Choosing Between the Galaxy Watch 7 and Garmin Forerunner 255 for Fitness and Health Tracking ->hi, I had a GW 7 but now I have a GW ultra and I am most satisfied, GPS and all measurements are better on both the Garmin venu 3 and GW 7
r/smartwatch β’ Good fitness trackers? ->The most accurate Galaxy Watch for health and GPS right now is the 7, but I think money is a constraint for you. If you could get even the small 40mm one in sales it will be better,
r/GalaxyWatch β’ galaxy watch FE quality ->The most accurate Galaxy Watch for health and GPS right now is the 7, but I think money is a constraint for you. If you could get even the small 40mm one in sales it will be better,
r/GalaxyWatch β’ galaxy watch FE quality ->Its been 6 days of use but getting 20hrs battery life only , even it didn't show learning user pattern
r/GalaxyWatch β’ ~2 Days of Battery Life on GALAXY WATCH 7....and thats enough for me....... ->AW is better IMO purely from my experience with my GW 7 that disconnects from my S25 Ultra, every few months and I have to reset my GW and pair it again. Health tracking for me has been in favor of the GW 7, as it tracks more areas of your sleep and provides better reporting analytics. Consistency goes to AW.
r/GalaxyWatch β’ Switching to Galaxy from Apple, how does the Galaxy Watch Compare? ->I had a charge 6 from fitbit and it would register my pushes as steps when I was out and about. It was great for health monitoring but I decided to get the galaxy watch 7 before I realized that smart drive compatibility only goes to 6 and also it doesn't count my pushes as effectively. I still like it for being able to smart watch and control my music, make calls and texts without having my phone out. But ya.
r/disability β’ Fitness Trackers & Smart Watches ->It's an ok watch but it's kinda slow and overpriced (it's just a galaxy watch 4 which has been rebranded). It also lacks some sensorsΒ and has less accurate single frequency GPS vs the dual frequency in the watch6 or 7. Get a watch7 or watch6 instead.
r/GalaxyWatch β’ galaxy watch FE quality ->Yeah, especially because it supports the qwerty KB - probably the one thing I'll miss coming from my galaxy watch
r/apple β’ The Apple Watch SE 3 is the one to buy | Apple gave the people what they wanted, resulting in the most compelling update to the Apple Watch lineup this year. ->Samsung Galaxy Watch 7 or 8, it's budget friendly and track exercises very well. Battery lasts around 2 days. I've used it for pool and open water swimming.
r/OpenWaterSwimming β’ New smartwatch ->I've had mine since summer 2022. It still works great. I charge mine about once a week, depending on what accessories I use when I work out I can go a little longer. Ironically I just got a Galaxy Watch 7 LTE and have played around with workouts, running, pool swimming, and cycling. The Garmin is a much superior companion to the Galaxy Watch 7. I'm probably really biased but pick up a Garmin heart rate monitor as well.
r/GarminWatches β’ Help me choose a watch (955 in 2025?) ->Honest thought, they messed up the 8 classic by only offering a small screen and the battery increase from the 6 classic is tiny. Unfortunately unless proper reviews show that the biosensor has drastically improved, it's not going to be that different from the 7 series, or 6 series. They do have new measurements/ features, but if they are software locked behind a need to have a Samsung phone then they are useless to non Samsung phone users. The chipset not being updated from the 7 series is also disappointing, and it doesn't actually perform that much better in real life usage vs the 6 classic chipset (I think all of the more recent OS updates on the 6 have improved it's performance).
r/GalaxyWatch β’ Galaxy Watch 8 / Ultra β Honest Thoughts After Launch ->Yes. As I mentioned will be interesting to see some proper review of the new biosensor in the 8 series and the gps performance. The 7 gps performance is just as bad as the 6 series, I think only the ultra has improved gps performance as it uses an upgraded gps module.
r/GalaxyWatch β’ Galaxy Watch 8 / Ultra β Honest Thoughts After Launch ->It has the previous chipset gen. My wife has the watch 7, which has the same chipset as the 8 series, no real snappiness difference in scrolling or waking up (still sluggish on the 7) compared to the 6c. The newer chipset should be more power efficient, haven't tested that.
r/GalaxyWatch β’ Galaxy Watch 8 / Ultra β Honest Thoughts After Launch ->I bet there will be some poor synchronization of basic things like the alarm. Either use the alarm on the phone or the watch, or duplicate both. They don't work together, they are not synchronized. The same goes for the timer. The second thing that annoyed me in OPW2 was the truncation of messages on the watch. You couldn't read the whole message and had to take out your phone. I don't know how it will be in OPW3 but I think not much has changed. I used OPW2 + SGS24U. Finally I changed the watch to GW7. One ecosystem does a good job though. I'm not complaining.
r/WearOS β’ OnePlus Watch 3 with Galaxy phones ->GW7 is the best option for Samsung phones. Check out oneplus watch 2 and 2R
r/smartwatch β’ Planning to buy Galaxy watch 7 - Need reviews or Alternative ->Smartwatch always have less battery. Oneplus watch has slightly better battery than GW7 due to dual OS. GW7 for 14k INR is a better deal. If you don't want to charge daily, you can look at fitness oriented watches from Amazfit.
r/smartwatch β’ Planning to buy Galaxy watch 7 - Need reviews or Alternative ->Whoop and galaxy watch 7
r/Swimming β’ What watches is everyone using to track? ->Hell yeah, I was also looking at the ultra before I saw that the 7 was only 170β¬ and does basically the same thing but is round instead of square
r/Swimming β’ What watches is everyone using to track? ->You should think of the Galaxy Watch (and other smart watches) as more like additional gadgets for your smart phone. They do other stuff too, and usually really well, but if you are getting a smart watch it's usually because you want to be a part of an ecosystem. Not saying your arguments are wrong. If I were a runner of your level I would absolutely get a proper running watch (and then maybe a non-smart watch for causual fit). I also run, cycle, play sports and a daily basis and the GW7 has been good for me. I run at my pace, I mainly look at the data from the watch after my training to see how I did. Also auto-tracking is pretty neat, and ability to see my workouts on a calendar is useful.
r/GalaxyWatch β’ Think twice about Galaxy Watch if you are a runner. ->I switched from the Galaxy watch 7 to OnePlus 3 watch and love it - battery life is SO MUCH BETTER.
r/WearOS β’ Oneplus watch 3 or Xiaomi watch 2? ->Used to love fitbit, but now their stuff don't even last. I just got a mi band 9, and I'm loving it and just got the galaxy watch 7 because I got a promotion with tmobile, and that watch is way better than my galaxy watch 4. I was going to order the amazfit bip 6, heard good reviews on that one too. You just have to do your homework, go to YouTube, see reviews on the latest trackers and find out which would work out for you based on your lifestyle and budget wise π
r/fitbit β’ Is Fitbit still worth buying? ->I loved the TicWatch initially and am on my second one, but I won't be buying from them anymore despite having the nice separate LCD screen to help with battery. I'll be ordering the Samsung Galaxy Watch7 in a day or so.
r/Android β’ What is the best watch for Android currently? ->I'm OK with the training plans and that sort of stuff on the 7. If not the built-in Samsung stuff then a 3rd party app. But the GPS is a real issue. It's not even consistently off, to where I can just account for it being 10% over or something. It's just whatever number it happens to feel like. Cloudy day? Sorry, no, can't have tracking today. I still have to carry my phone on runs.
r/GalaxyWatch β’ Think twice about Galaxy Watch if you are a runner. ->I had Apple Watch S8 and switched to Galaxy Watch 7 and it's just as responsive. No lagging anywhere except booting up is slow just as the Apple Watch was right after booting. Watch 7 prices are very low right now and there isn't probably anything new hardware-wise on the 8 (it's uglier and bigger!) so I would buy the 7 now instead of wait.
r/GalaxyWatch β’ Switching to Galaxy from Apple, how does the Galaxy Watch Compare? ->A year ago I bought a refurbed Galaxy watch (version 7?) for $120 thinking it would cover all three sports. Now, it's really only useful for running. Swimming - it's inaccurate for distance and a glorified stopwatch (I count my laps with a clicker). Cycling - I have a GPS Cateye. I keep a training diary in a Moleskine calendar. It works for me.
r/triathlon β’ Triathlon Watch Without Smartphone ->I use a smart watch (Galaxy watch 7)
r/Swimming β’ What device do u use to track your swimming ->If I were you I wouldn't change my watch. The choice of device does not in any way affect the goal you have set for yourself. Then if you want to change it just on a whim... take the one you like most, everyone has strengths but also flaws βοΈ Owner of: apple watch ultra 2(just sold), garmin fenix 8, amazfit balance2, samsung galaxy watch 7
r/GarminWatches β’ Somewhat new Runner + weightlifting + daily wear: which Garmin? ->This is interesting. I had abandoned the Galaxy Watch 7 for swimming because its GPS was really inaccurate. Now, I've returned to Samsung with the Watch Ultra 2025 because I'm tired of training with two watches (Galaxy Watch 7 for LTE and Garmin Fenix ββ8/Amazfit Trex3Pro for GPS) and I would like to use it as the only watch. Of course Garmin and Amazfit guarantee me enormous battery life but also the boredom of having two watches. I hope I feel good
r/GalaxyWatch β’ Watch Ultra Battery Life ->Difference between the SoC on GW6 and earlier and the GW7 and later is massive. I went from a 5 to a 7 and it's a game changer. Buttery smooth like an Apple Watch for the first time.
r/GalaxyWatch β’ Galaxy Watch Ultra 2025 ->Currently have a Galaxy watch 7 and it works just fine with swim.com app.
r/Swimming β’ Garmin Swim 2 vs Form vs apple vs ole fashin pen & paper ->Watch 8 with a few bits turned off getting easy 2 days and pushing into the 3rd Notifications on AOD off. Health tracking to a minimum Watch 8 is far superior to the 7 in terms of performance. I had the 7 and noticed a bit of lagging. The 8 is seamless
r/GalaxyWatch β’ Watch 7 vs Watch 8 (battery life) ->Have followed many of your comments here, u/cdegallo, over the years and appreciate your insights as always. And not surprisingly, I agree 100% with your comparison here. Every time I'm tempted to go back to my GW7 44mm, I appreciate some feature (typically \*slightly\* better fitness tracking and more responsive UI) of my PW3 45mm. I also wear my PW3 to track sleep-related metrics, and always felt it did a better job, providing more meaningful stats, than Samsung Health did.
r/PixelWatch β’ anyone switched from galaxy watch? ->Agreed...always felt like my PW3 has done a better job with HR compared to my GW7.
r/PixelWatch β’ anyone switched from galaxy watch? ->The main difference besides design is the brighter display on the 8. 2000 nits on the 7, and 3000 nits on the 8. The slightly upgraded battery on the 8 is offset by its brighter screen. So the 8 retains the same battery life, while adding a brighter display.
r/GalaxyWatch β’ Galaxy Watch 8 / Ultra β Honest Thoughts After Launch ->I have used the watches apple watch ultra 1 and 2, Garmin instinct 1 and 2, Samsung Galaxy watch 5 pro, Galaxy watch 7, Galaxy watch ultra, and Garmin Fenix 6x, and Garmin Fenix 8. They all have their pros and cons. I can answer questions if you'd like just ask. But I would say either get a Garmin or polar fitness watch or if you want something with more of a smart watch features get the watch that matches your phones OS. The standard apple watches can be prone to scratching and cracking unless you get one with a sapphire face. The curved screen is hard to put a screen protector on but they do make them.
r/Firefighting β’ Looking for a decent smartwatch to use on shift ->I switched from Galaxy 7 ultra, had the 5 pro for two years before that, to the Forerunner 265 and couldn't be happier. I probably wasn't using the Galaxy to its full potential I used the default apps, the only thing I miss is using Google assistant to add things to my shopping list, or set reminders real quick. Other then that I honestly didn't use anything else but Samsung health and the run features. The Garmin blows the Galaxy away in the health side of things, sleep is about the same but the run metrics, body battery, morning report I also like the UI better though it took a few days to get used to. I still have alarm and notifications with no issues. Oh and battery life went from charging every two days to every 15 days.
r/GarminWatches β’ Galaxy watch 7 or Garmin ->Body battery is 100% better of the two. Body battery changes continuously depending on your sleep, stress, heart rate , activity, etc, with the major factors being sleep and stress in my experience. The activity score is good for just checking once after you wake up, since it doesn't change continuously, I just use it as a sort of all encompassing score for what I can do in a day. Although the calculation for this feels much more opaque and arbitrary compared to body battery. If you want a watch for purely fitness purposes, I would go for the garmin. I personally switched to samsung because of the little quality of life features missing from garmin like routines, better watch faces etc.
r/GalaxyWatch β’ Garmin Body Battery vs Samsung's New Energy Score β Which One to Get? ->This 100 percent.Β The Samsung energy score penalizes you for resting and not working out everyday. And doesn't update throughout the day like Garmin.Β Garmin watch for fitness and Galaxy if you care about a "smart watch"
r/GalaxyWatch β’ Garmin Body Battery vs Samsung's New Energy Score β Which One to Get? ->I had a samsung galaxy watch and my bestie had an apple watch. We both switched to garmin. I have the forerunner 165, and she has the vivoactive. One of best features of the garmin watches is battery life - one charge lasts about a week with daily workout tracking
r/orangetheory β’ Smartwatch Recommendations for Fitness + OTF Beat Burn Outside the Studio? ->Same! Galaxy has a peloton app on it, activated automatically. Highly recommend.
r/pelotoncycle β’ Peloton with fitness tracker (not Fitbit)? ->I wore my galaxy watch for 3 years climbing with no protection on it and while it got some scratches, it never really got anything on the screen and nothing cracked, it's a pretty durable piece of hardware. The only time it really got in the way of climbing was on the occasional very large sloper where you get an arm on the hold and on crack climbs. I don't wear it anymore because I no longer enjoy smart watches in general, but it was a pretty solid piece of tech in terms of durability.
r/bouldering β’ Performance / Fitness Tracker ->NRC does not require Apple products. Works just fine with my Samsung Galaxy Watch.
r/nikerunclub β’ Any non-Apple watches that sync Runs directly to Nike Run Club (without annoying third party apps). Must include GPS map of run ->I wear a galaxy watch and it's protected by my glove.
r/hockeyplayers β’ Fitness trackers? ->I have Samsung as well. A 4+ yr old galaxy watch and the app on my lg phone lol
r/walking β’ step / fitness tracker ->People have been claiming that Google was going to end fitbut over 2 years ago. It's still fine. I tried a galaxy watch, but you have to charge it every day, just like the apple watch. My fitbit goes for days. I just charge it every other day while I shower. I've never run out of battery.
r/fitbit β’ So which fitness tracker are you switching to? ->There's nothing wrong with climbing with a watch on. I do it almost exclusively with my Galaxy watch that I like and tracks pretty much everything you mention. Throw a wristband over it to keep it from getting scratched up and you're good to go. Just make sure to loosen it a notch before your session to allow for muscle contractions.
r/bouldering β’ Performance / Fitness Tracker ->I have a Galaxy watch now, but it's crap as a fitness tracker. When I want accurate data, I wear my old Garmin. I think it's a Forerunner 235? That may not be in production anymore, but any of the entry-level Garmins would work.
r/XXRunning β’ Fitness tracker recommendations? ->You lost me at #1. I've had the last 4 galaxy watches and the pixel 3 watch blows them all away.... By far.
r/PixelWatch β’ Pixel watch 3 (read before you buy) ->Built in speaker and microphone is compelling I won't lie.
r/Garmin β’ The New Garmin Forerunner 570 ->That's fair. I've used my Galaxy Watch to answer calls before though so I'll choose this model for that feature.
r/Garmin β’ The New Garmin Forerunner 570 ->Just a tidbit, a test with just 1 person as the source is never going to be a "scientific" test. My personal testing had both mess up the health tracking but the step count was better on galaxy.
r/Android β’ What is the best watch for Android currently? ->Yup. I've never scratched a watch in my life but my Pixel Watch 2 scratched all the time, even rubbing against my sheets when I slept. Luckily I was able to get it replaced later on under warranty but ever since I've used screen protectors to prevent scratching. I've owned three generations of Galaxy Watch and never scratched a single one so it's definitely not me but the Pixel Watch itself.
r/Android β’ The Google Pixel Watch 4 is the Android watch to beat ->Galaxy watches don't play nice with Strava. I used a Galaxy watch previously & liked it, except that I lost data several times & it would stop talking to Strava and I'd have to reset it. I'm not the only one. I eventually gave up and got a Garmin.
r/Strava β’ Fitness tracker wearable ->just joined from galaxy watch, and MAN I feel the exact same π
r/Garmin β’ How Have I only just discovered this? (convert from Apple Watch) ->It's like Apples to Oranges. Galaxy Watch has better watch faces and more customization but the apple watch has more third party apps and the heart rate tracking was always better for me on the Apple Watch. Also Samsung health gives you far more insights than apple health app
r/GalaxyWatch β’ Switching to Galaxy from Apple, how does the Galaxy Watch Compare? ->I trashed one Galaxy Watch by wearing it in a dry sauna for 20 minutes and then immediately swimming laps in a cold pool. Since then, I don't chance it with my new watch. It's sits safely in a locker with my phone and ear buds, while I'm in the sauna.
r/Sauna β’ Do you wear your smart watch / fitness trackers in the sauna? ->I've used them all, not sure I agree that the aw is better, galaxy has some really important (for me) things that aw doesn't. Also, I like round for watches, the aw is basically a tiny iPad! If you are really into watches though, Garmin is miles ahead of both. Expensive but worth it, if you're an enthusiast.
r/GalaxyWatch β’ Switching to Galaxy from Apple, how does the Galaxy Watch Compare? ->Bad exp ko sa Galaxy watch mabagal and madali malowbat after a year. Limited na din support sa iOS. :(
r/PHRunners β’ Smart watch recommendations? ->Galaxy Watch probably has the most of what a WearOS watch can offer but a fair bit of features are Samsung exclusive. Pixel Watches I believe offer mostly the same with a little less bells and whistles than a galaxy watch but with better health features with fitbit integration that isn't locked to pixels. Also looks more fashionable IMO. Blends with my outfits when using a stylish watch band. Just looks like a watch instead of a smart watch. One plus I don't know too much about other than it has actual battery life that lasts days. I feel like it would be the defacto best one but I haven't heard many people speak on it.
r/Android β’ What is the best watch for Android currently? ->Don't get Samsung Galaxy watch if you want to connect with H365. I just got it recently. The step sync with H365 is always less by atleast ~1000 steps. Doesn't sync sleep hrs and MVPA at all. I'm losing the points because of this. I tried to change some settings from online reviews and also tried reconnecting with app/watch etc. Still same. Checked with both Samsung and H365 customer service. Both useless and don't have a solution for this. Both sides blaming the other for this issue. I can't return the watch because the 14 day return period is over. I don't like it but still using because no choice. My previous apple watch and Garmin was great. Everything sync perfectly.
r/askSingapore β’ How good is Galaxy Watch + Samsung Health with H365? ->I'm in the two watch gang, Galaxy Watch on the right as a tracker and my watch du jour on the left.
r/Tudor β’ Does anyone here wear your Tudor and a fitness tracker on the other arm? ->Bought my mother (83 yo) a FR265 to monitor her heart rate while cycling and to use the live track feature in case she has an accident while out riding. Garmin decided to put live track behind a subscription, so there's no way I'd recommend it anymore. Samsung galaxy watch has some useful health tracking data, but battery isn't as good as Garmin's. When they do, I'm off Garmin.
r/GarminWatches β’ Which Garmin watch model would you recommend for your parents? (70 y/o) ->Samsung Galaxy watch and arccos
r/golf β’ What golf watch are you using and recommend? ->For the first part, no, galaxy watches are kind of shit for health and fitness tracking tbh. They gave the sensing hardware, but their algorithms and health app are crap.
r/GalaxyWatch β’ are galaxy watches good health/fitness trackers? ->I use my samsung Galaxy Watch together with my iphone, I can use music controls, get notifications and keeps track of my steps, how lazy i have been and even how much sleep i get.. Yes i am a lazy person :p
r/AppleWatch β’ Missing iPhone but not my apple watch, if I go back to iPhone then are there alternatives? ->I just went into the app store and installed the samsung galaxy watch (Gear S) (i dont have the gear s but in the app u can choose the right wearable) I just hate the square apple watches cuz square, galaxy watch gives me the feeling i am wearing a watch
r/AppleWatch β’ Missing iPhone but not my apple watch, if I go back to iPhone then are there alternatives? ->Aside from navigation, a dedicated bike computer will give all information you need on your handlebar. Like what the OP asked, real cyclists need to see the information when they need to as looking at your wrist while biking isn't ideal. Also, my experience with using my Galaxy watch which biking isn't that great as it drains the battery really quickly.
r/cycling β’ Best smart watch to track rides? ->You will be back to Garmin lol. I've tried apple watch ultra, Samsung Galaxy watches and ultra, and pixel watch 3. Nothing compares to the metrics Garmin provides. Plus the battery life is incredible. Don't have to think about charging at all. Everything is built into Garmin. You don't have to pay for other apps to get similar functionality. I'm a golfer and it's so nice to have the golf features built into the watch versus having to pay extra for them. Morning report is amazing. Body battery. Now evening report too. Plus the watch is very reliable. I can't go back. I love my Fenix 8 too much. And the flashlight is chefs kiss.
r/PixelWatch β’ Preordered the Pixel Watch 4; Still a Bit Worried About Losing My Garmin Metrics ->Its very dependent on your budget, what phone you have, battery life you want, and actual features you want it to have. If you have a samsung phone, you can get either a Galaxy Watch (high on features, but only 2 day battery) or a Galaxy fit (very limited features but 7 day battery life) If you have an iPhone, obviously the Apple Watch works best, but battery life is abysmal. If youre ok with a 3rd party watch that has its own app to sync, the Huawei Watch Fit 4 Pro is pretty hard to beat. 10-15 day battery life. Has built in GPS, dive computer, and looks sleek as hell.
r/Strava β’ Fitness tracker wearable ->I love pixel watch faces, but for full features, I would choose galaxy watch
r/WearOS β’ Galaxy Watch 8 or Pixel Watch 4 ->I used my Samsung Galaxy watch with it all the time and it's fine.
r/pelotoncycle β’ Peloton with fitness tracker (not Fitbit)? ->I never realized I should be worried about my watch battery dying on longer runs. I have a Galaxy watch and have to charge it twice as often as my partner with their apple watch. However, I use a lot of my smartwatch features, I wonder if eventually be worth it to just have 2 watches. I hate having to use battery saving on my watch, it makes it frustrating to use.
r/XXRunning β’ Garmin VS Apple Watch ->I have a Garmin vivoactive 5 and mostly love it. I use to have a Samsung Galaxy watch. Pros: Long battery life. 7+ days without GPS turned on. The outdoor rowing app is super nice and I love being able to see the output of my row after I get off the water. I'm not going to lie - this is the whole reason behind this new watch purchase. Lighter than the Samsung. Cons: Can't actually create individual text responses. HR monitor isn't as accurate as a chest monitor (I compared it once) but still better than my Samsung. I'm not an iPhone user so I can't offer a comparison. But I have no regrets with my Garmin watch purchase. Edited - added another Pro.
r/Rowing β’ what is this best fit watch for rowing? ->How's there Samsung handle replying to text messages? I had a galaxy watch years ago and that could be hit or miss. My pw3 was hit or miss last year but seems like updates fixed it and it's reliable
r/PixelWatch β’ Internal Information from Google Team regarding Google Pixel Watch 4. ->Love my Galaxy watch. I would say consider what phone you're going to pair it with, if it's a Samsung considered Galaxy if it's a pixel consider pixel watch Etc
r/Android β’ What is the best watch for Android currently? ->I've owned a samsung galaxy watch and currently rock a garmin vivoactive. The garmin's battery is 10x better. The UI isn't as good, though - but that's small potatoes.
r/firstmarathon β’ Running Watch Recommendation ->I did. And 2 days later went back to galaxy watch lol
r/PixelWatch β’ anyone switched from galaxy watch? ->My galaxy watch got really bad during the end of its life. Couldn't rely on any of its data and battery only lasted 2 days max. My charge6 is less than a year old, so I'm planning on letting this one ride for a couple to a few years and see how the chips fall
r/fitbit β’ So which fitness tracker are you switching to? ->Considering that it tracks steps/heart rate, I dont think it can really provide any useful information when doing curls or benching or etc. Do other watches provide any unique metrics there?
r/GalaxyWatch β’ Why Galaxy Watches does not have a proper gym workout? ->Ahh, I usually only track cardio with the watch. It looks like you can actually add custom workouts on the Samsung Health app. It can track specified data like Sets/Rest or calories burned. You can select free weights/machine etc Looks like you can also create routines. Shit, I might use this
r/GalaxyWatch β’ Why Galaxy Watches does not have a proper gym workout? ->But you can track a row machine on the galaxy watch...
r/GalaxyWatch β’ Why Galaxy Watches does not have a proper gym workout? ->Currently, Galaxy Watches and Pixel Watches
r/Android β’ What is the best watch for Android currently? ->Samsung nerfs its watches if you don't use them with Galaxy phones? I didn't know that.
r/Android β’ What is the best watch for Android currently? ->You can obviously use swimming activity outdoors but it's more designed to be used indoors where you can set the length of the pool you're in. Galaxy watches eg. Have "Outdoor swimming" exercise which tracks your GPS and calculates rates based on that
r/PixelWatch β’ Google pixel watch for swimming ? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
