"In the first few days of wearing the ring, I was surprised that the sleep tracking results almost exactly matched my AWU. Even after six nights, this consistency continued. It seems I can stop wearing the watch for sleep tracking. ... Over the past couple of weeks, its sleep and wake time detection has closely matched my Apple Watch."
"In my week of use, I found that if I train when the score is below 70 after work, I’m generally fatigued. When it’s above 75, I’m in a good state for interval training and similar workouts."
"For me, my workouts have a pretty clear impact on the data and I think the insights are great. Like, if I did interval training today, my HRV will definitely tank tomorrow, and the UH app would tell me that it’s normal post-workout stress that helps the body grow."

"Regarding sleep debt, unlike other apps that typically advise seven and a half or eight and a half hours of sleep, UH app suggested six and a half hours after a week of observation, which matches my usual experience."
"This was one of the features I most wanted before purchasing. ... In the first three days of wearing the ring, when I wasn’t sleeping well, my caffeine intake window was very short, reflecting poor brain waste clearance and recommending an earlier caffeine cut-off. Over the weekend, after better sleep, the allowable caffeine window extended—it even told me I could consume caffeine until 4 PM. Clearly, the app is calculating dynamically rather than applying a fixed caffeine metabolism rate."

"As to battery, I was having to charge my 3 year old apple watch twice a day. So compared to that, the battery is fine. ... I charge it at night, it uses about 10% overnight; I tracked a 1.5 hour walk followed by a 10 minute workout and a 30 minute "stretching" session and it's now on 54%."
"Battery has been phenomenal imo. ... Right now it’s set to turbo mode, and no complaints."
"The ring gives several days worth of battery life."

"However, the calorie count for activity is odd. On days I go for a jog, the calories burned are unusually high. ... For example: Static energy + dynamic energy = approx. 1,950 kcal A 10 km Zone 2 jog ≈ 700 kcal Total ≈ 2,650 kcal But the UH app always reports around 3,350 kcal—it’s clearly doubling the exercise calories. ... This issue matters to me: if I follow this inflated calorie estimate for food intake, I could easily regain the weight I lost 20 years ago."
"I always make sure the sensor is on the opposite side when I'm working out, but the tracker is all over the place and overall, very inaccurate."
"the Ring should improve on the sensors so that the accuracy of the data improves. ... I use my ring with my Garmin, and I usually trust my Garmin's data more as it correlates to how I am feeling more often than not."

"On day 19, I encountered a Bluetooth connection issue. Customer service advised me to fully drain the battery to trigger a hardware reset, then recharge and reconnect the ring. ... Unfortunately, I had just fully charged it yesterday, so I’ll need to wait three to four days."
I use an Ultrahuman RIng Air to collect sleep and some exercise data. Full scale exercise data comes from Apple Health, GPX Tracker, and Withings apps. All these integrate into Apple Health for which there is a published API or it is possible to output a complete data dump from Apple Health. The native Apple Health data originates from either/both of my iPhone or Apple Watch. Unfortunately the Ultrahuman app is not fully integrated into Apple Health. Some of the data items never get carried across, for exampe, VO2max collected by the Ring does not appear in Apple Health. I have bitched about that in the Ultrahuman subreddit several times and will continue to do so but there has, as now, been no progress in a fuller/complete integration between the two apps. The Withings App on the otherhand seems to have bi-directionala integration with Apple Health.
Also same problem at work I use a Fitbit and ended up getting a health tracker ring - love it just use the Fitbit as a digital watch and alarm now
I got the Ultrahuman one but they don’t sell them in the US at the moment some sort of lawsuit with oura effective in October. You might be able to find some residual stock at Walmart or best buy I got mine from Best Buy
I also wear an Apple Watch Ultra 2 and I wouldn’t say a smart ring adds very much over what the AWU already provides, in terms of data. It’s more about how it aggregates and displays the data that’s more helpful. I really wanted to get better about tracking my sleep and wearing my giant Ultra watch to bed wasn’t comfortable so I decided to get a smart ring. I got the UltraHuman ring which is priced similarly to Oura 4 but with no subscription and I can tell you I wore it for 2 months and had nothing but issues. Looking deeper into Reddit, I found I was not alone by any means, in fact, it seems that the majority of users have reliability and connectivity issues. I finally had enough and threw the ring away and got an Oura 4 and it’s so much better, not only in terms of reliability / build quality, but in how it displays data and sets goals based on your data. I can’t speak for RingConn but UltraHuman sets impossible goals and activity metrics that do not move on a sliding scale. As an example, I slept poorly the other night and Oura recognized my recovery was low and lowered my activity goal to align with what’s realistic when you’re overtired and you didn’t have time to recover. It’s encouraging that even on bad days, goals can be reached by making them realistic. I’d much rather pay a subscription for something that works well than try to save $70 a year by getting something that won’t work half the time anyway. Buy nice or buy twice (like I did). Worth noting is both UltraHuman and RingConn were just banned from selling their rings in the US after October 21st in an ITC ruling that found they had infringed on Oura’s patent.
I'm here to ask the age old question, has anyone found a fitness tracker that is reliable with reading your heart rate through tattoos? I had a fitbit inspire 2, it worked most of the time but not always (particularly it would never read my heart rate accurately when on the stairmaster). Now I have an ultrahuman ring, thinking it wouldn't be an issue on my finger since I only have a single letter on it. I always make sure the sensor is on the opposite side when I'm working out, but the tracker is all over the place and overall, very inaccurate. At this point I'd love to add something that I could wear even just for workouts, but I'm tattooed on both wrists, all my fingers, my stomach.. I'd love to know if you've found anything that works. TIA!
I quite like my Ultrahuman ring but I’m worried about its longevity. I purchased it in October, they sent me a replacement in December as I was having a known issue of the battery draining very quickly. So far I haven’t had any major issues with my replacement besides the fitness tracking being inconsistent. The Fitbit inspire was not horrible, but more basic data. For me, the Apple Watch was too many notifs. I think I’d like it more if I didn’t pretty much always have my phone on me.
Check out Hume Band from Hume Health. I purchased a Hume Body Pod (smart scale) and am very happy with it. After getting the scale, they are now pitching me on the Hume Band. Looks like a Whoop clone. First, Hume BodyPod scale is excellent. Looks, build quality, the app is clear and well designed. I really like it after 2 months. FYI - I wore Whoop for 2 years and now have an Ultrahuman ring for 1.5 years. Reason to move to the Hume Band is that it will integrate with same app as the BodyPod. Haven’t done it yet.
I tried the Ultrahuman ring for a few weeks but it was uncomfortable during the night and in the gym. At the end I tried whoop and I'm still using it. It's not bad, more precise than I expected.
I got myself a Ultrahuman ring and only use my garmin (fenix 7s) for workouts now. I would’ve bought a ring or band if they’d done one as an addition to my watch as I wanted consistent tracking but to wear a normal watch daily. I think so many that have a garmin but want to wear a normal watch would buy a band or ring in addition if they launched one and it just makes no sense that they won’t.
I honestly chose what’s affordable and works for me. I always had an Ultrahuman Ring to cover some of the health tracking but wanted to completely let go of my Apple Watch, whoop just happened to be the only device with some strength training that tracks effort and HR actively (aside from using HRM Strap w/ polar app). It also magically happens to be FSA Eligible which made it easier and more affordable for now
I switched from Ultrahuman to Whoop. Ultrahuman is garbage btw, I ran through 3 rings in under a year. Also they lost the lawsuit to Oura so there might be support issues in the future in the US.
I think that the Ring can be made better (as there are many users who have complained that their units failed to work). Aside from quality control, I think the Ring should improve on the sensors so that the accuracy of the data improves. I use my ring with my Garmin, and I usually trust my Garmin's data more as it correlates to how I am feeling more often than not. Also battery life. UH has the best app, but it would be more useful if you had proper inputs and data points.
