It is and I have the Nova and love it. But TBH I mean going beyond health and notifications.
i used the old scanwatch nova and it's so different how native app integration is. apple is still the best just for this also with nova it scratches pretty easy. 2 days of sleep with it and so many micro scratches. i returned it. maybe this is better but for sleep. apple watch probably is best. also check the only reviews for accuracy. apple do sleep very well scanwatch is pretty tho
I own a Scanwatch Nova, a beautiful and premium-built watch. Its measurements are reasonably accurate, and the accompanying app is user-friendly.
I've had the scanwatch 2, and Scanwatch Nova. Build quality wise, the Nova was great, although neither were accurate sadly.
Yeah agree with above, I take my Nova off when weight lifting. I'll wear it when I run but I'm not convinced by the heart rate tracking during exercise tbh. It does come with a rubber band for sports. But for a steps tracker which looks nice and tells the time, it's great
For me, tracking walking activities, it’s pretty good. Heart rate / steps etc all good. I do have a Nova though so not a totally equal comparison.
The Nova is very good, but be aware it's a health watch! Heart rate tracking for sports activities won't be on par with an Apple Watch or Garmin, which have more advanced heart rate sensors and more sophisticated processors. Withings is trying to find a compromise between battery life and health data. The Withings is very good for everyday health tracking; the heart rate accuracy when you're not exercising is very good. It also tracks atrial fibrillation, sleep, SpO2, and ECG. You can track sports activities like hiking, leisurely cycling, and a bit of running, but for high-intensity sports, the accuracy won't be good. Ultimately, it depends on the person. My wife uses a ScanWatch 2 for sports, and the heart rate is detected very well. There are too many factors that affect the heart rate sensors: skin color, body hair, blood flow, sweat, and tattoos. I wear my Nova every day, but as soon as I exercise, I put on an Apple Watch.
Okay so my main usecase for my smartwatch is health tracking during the day. For my total gear i have 1. Galaxy watch ultra - Day to day casual watch. Use it to track workouts and runs + walking during golf. It also tracks steps and stuff during the day 2. Galaxy ring - This is my main sleep tracker. Prefer it over the watch. Plus it tracks some heart stuff during the day when im not working out. Not something to lift in 3. Withings Scanwatch Nova - This is my business / formal events smart watch. Good way to monitor heart / health stuff but looks like a traditional swiss divers watch and less like you have a gaming system on your wrist 4. Renpho Smart scale - Daily body scans and reports. Really rounds out the daily results of your training. For me it really hammers in how much of a step back i take when i miss workouts or really pig out. My stack has a lot of overlap. Specifically the watch and ring really do a lot of the same things. But i found that if i dont charge the GW ultra over night and try to sleep track then im not going to have enough charge to finish the day. The ring is a WAYYY more comfortable sleep tracker that i still wear during the day IMO yes a 4glte watch is AWESOME for training so you dont have to carry your phone around with you when running or working out. It can play music while trakcking your strava as you run. And upload it all to samsung health. I personally use strava and heavy on my watch for workout tracking. With that said, im probably going to downgrade my watch. I originally got the galaxy watch ultra because i wanted something premium to wear to work as well. but honestly it still doesnt have the classiness of a traditional watch. Thats why i got the withings scanwatch. I wear that to the office and then the galaxy watch everywhere else. Ive been liking the look + casual tracking of the scanwatch so much i was thinking of picking up the scanwatch 2 for more day to day wear. Then get a downgraded galaxy watch for my workout tracking
