Xiaomi - Smart Band 10

Xiaomi smartband 10. Was a 100% deal for me. I saved $1000+ not buying Garmin

Mine is Xiaomi SmartBand 10. Very cheap, and helpful in pool. But it doesnt track the openwater

I'm very happy with my upgrade for the other features, but I don't think it's really any better for time/distance measurement.

I bought MI Band 10

My friend was in Dubai, so I asked him to pick it up for me. It cost me 3.5k.

I bought it some days ago and just tried it today. It recorded less than half of the strokes and only about 25% of the laps (19 out of 70) :-(

Update. I have looked into how it works and tried some different approaches: It counts pool lengths by combining the acceleration when you push back from the edge and the wrist movement to detect a stroke. The first time, I was often switching between freestyle and backstroke and it missed 80% of my laps. If you stick to one type of stroke (freestyle or backstroke), then it's actually quite precise. But every time you change the type of stroke in between pool lengths, it systematically gets confused and doesn't count that length. The solution I found if I want to switch strokes during a workout is to change in the middle of the pool. If I finish a length in freestyle and want to switch to backstroke, I will start the next length in freestyle and change to backstroke after 2 or 3 movements. The the watch has the time to adjust and it counts the number of pool lengths accurately

I use a xiaomi mi band 10, it cost me 40v euros, and it's pretty great :) I've always been vary of wearing expensive electronics in water so I've won't mind losing the xiaomi band when the seals or gaskets fail after 3 years or smth. Plus this band has had no buttons or mic or speakers so it's actually water right.  Anyways, the lap tracking is nice as well as stroke type detection. It uses the acceleration sensor so it will count a finished lengthv when you rest. Plus you can measure HR underwater that's nice. 

I tested out the Inspire 3 and Smart Band 10 and ended up with the Smart Band 10. I liked the overall size and weight of the Inspire 3, but couldn't handle how small the screen was and the very limited options for watch faces. The Quantified Scientist on YT has some good videos exploring tracking accuracy. For me, Inspire 3 was much better at sleep tracking than the Smart Band 10, but I knew I didn't want to wear it 24/7 so I was willing to overlook that. A new and just-released Smart Band 10 was also much cheaper than a new Inspire 3 released in 2022. That factored into my choice as well.

If you're on a budget or are looking for something that wears smaller, the Mi Band 9 or 10 (9 pro if you need built-in GPS) are interesting and really cheap. The sensors and overall ux are probably a bit better on most Amazfit devices, but the Xiaomi smart bands are still pretty decent especially if you take the price (roughly 30-60 usd) into account.

Xiaomi Smart Band 10 is only 2k right now with vouchers. I'm using the Smart Band 9 on my iphone 13 and it's really good! Tagal pa ng battery life. Halos di mo rin ramdam kasi slim siya.

I've got an inspire 3 and a Xiaomi smart band 10 with no GPS and a Garmin Epix Gen 2 with GPS. Personally the onboard GPS is not an issue, if you use it it batters the watches battery so I use my phone, it's always with me and the battery is huge.
