I went from Pixel Watch 2 to Apex 2 Pr. You give up assistant is the big thing but get battery life in return which is way better because I only have to charge one or twice a month vs every day so I was rarely tracking my sleep because I had to charge every night.
Great watch for running! I have the Apex 2 and it’s great for everything; my only complaint is that in all systems on activity mode it only lasts about 25 hours. Not quite enough to finish a mountain 100M unless you’re really fast. The Apex 4 would definitely cover that, though.
Crazy how literally everyone here is saying Garmin. I use a Coros Apex 2 which can do everything most Garmins can, has a titanium body and sapphire glass, and costs $300 usd.
Not a garmin, but Coros Apex 2 or 4 are both solid and probably cheaper than the cheapest garmin that comes with maps. I have a apex 2 and it’s been great for me for running/hiking/skiing
I switched from Apple Watch to a Coros. I have an apex 2, but there are models that are less running-focused. It is a sports watch more than a fitness tracker, but I am very happy with it.
I won’t go back to Apple Watch. I am not into the smart watch features and the battery life and cost exclude it from my list for wants/needs. I think how much a person wants or doesn’t want smart watch features makes a big difference in the what will work best.

Long battery; but wrist HR tracking is inconsistent.
