A GOOD FOOD PROCESSOR!  Sick, late, lazy, all excuses in one umbrella.  No cutting of fingers.  Saves a lot of those expensive knives and god knows what!  Breville paradice 9.  Slices from paper thin to slice of bread thick,  Chops, minces Dices  Makes dough!!!  30 year warranty on the motor.  Fits under the cabinet.  It will save soooo much time on your mise en place, cooking will be very very quick.  It can handle anything from 1 onion to 20 onions with the same precision.

I just bought one of these. I've been on a winning streak with Breville products, and this seemed like the right size for me. It only arrived today, and all I did was make salsa . . . thinking that was about the easiest thing to try. I used the recommended process from the Breville app, and I have to say I'm pretty happy with the result, at least as far as the processor goes (I'd add more heat, etc, but that's no surprise) I have a few other Breville products, like the air fryer smart oven, and I've found that the app is really good at giving directions that the product does especially well (e.g. sure it's an air fryer but for this result use the broiler function instead). Anyway the app recommended using the standard chopper first for the onion, cilantro, and jalapenos, and I added some garlic for luck. OK that worked fine. Then it had me switch to the dicer attachment for the tomatoes, which surprised me a little but I figure sure let's give that a try. I was quite impressed with this . . . it had me cut them in half and cut out the stems, and then feed them through the lid 1/2 tomato at a time. Each tomato half was done in seconds, and at the end there were a pile of perfect salsa sized tomato chunks in the bowl on top of everything else. Based on reviews I've seen on earlier models I think the dicer on this model is an improvement. I had several salad-level tomatoes of various ages and firmness; they all worked just fine.

I bought the Paradice9 one. Mainly because I like its compact size. Also, the magimix one had 3 bowls and I've read a lot of reviews where people say if you use the smaller bowls, the other ones also get dirty = more cleanup work. It should arrive this week.

So far I've used the dicer, chopper and slicing tool and it's amazing. No regrets! I really love the easy storage for all the attachments.

I purchased a Paradice during the Black Friday sale. I think the difference is that the Paradice comes with the dicing disk kit and the Sous Chef doesn’t? I was most excited about the dicing capabilities. I’ve only tried dicing once, with onions, and it was a bit of a disaster. I’ll try again but for now I can only say it’s a fantastic food processor for everything except dicing. To be fair, I think any food processor would have the same issues with dicing. In my case the majority of the onions spread out between the dicing and slicing disks and it was a pain to clean all the parts after.

yeah unfortunately all the bigger ones use plastic, probably as a cost saving thing too. The good thing is at least its a lot lighter. i got a bigger breville one and a medium sized kenwood one and i kind of don't like the plastic.

The oft-recommended Cuisinarts are fine and pretty good value for money, but if you have the budget for it, a Magimix or Breville is *way* better.

Get a Magimix. Or a Sage (aka Breville). Both are huge upgrades from the Cuisinart tbh

My current processor is a Breville (>5 years) that replaced a Cuisinart that replaced a... Oster(?). The Breville and all its attachments work well, easy to clean (except the feed tube pusher), has *lots* of power. It's my favorite of the three.
