After 30 years in the kitchen, I would say that I'm much better off with a Kitchen Aid mixer and a Cuisinart. I started with the 4.5qt KA and a 10 cup Cuisinart, but now I have a 6qt and a 14-cup because I needed the capacity. I also have a cheap KA hand mixer for things like 7-minute frosting and smaller jobs. EDIT: And a Cuisinart Mini-prep, for spices and small emulsions. As always, depending on what you cook, your mileage may vary. But you can't really do bread or cookie dough in a food processor, and you can't do soup or pesto or chopping/dicing in a stand mixer.
r/Cooking • Can I get one gadget for mixing (for baking and such) and food processing? ->The Cuisinart is a workhorse machine and an absolute beast. Mine has been going strong for twenty years.
r/Cooking • Can anyone offer any insight into these 3 food processors? ->I have this one…it’s a work horse - the feeding tube is great (biggest mouth tube of all processors, but pusher is fiddley). It’s all dishwasher safe, but it’s lots more parts and bulkier than my old unit. This model has an optional dice kit I bought that does a quick job dicing up the “Holy Trinity” I use in almost everything. (I like my soup & stew to have same sized chop). Was worth the $99 I believe the paddle unit is a 10cup - and this is a 12
r/BuyItForLife • Does anyone know how this 12 cup die-cast metal Cuisinart food processor from Costco compares to the 14 cup version with the paddle buttons that is always recommended? ->I have the Cuisinart and it's pretty meh. It chops okay but has a tendency to get gummed up around the bowl and needs scraping down. I think I'd buy the kitchenaid again if given the chance. We used to have an older model of that one but I burned out the motor on pizza dough.
