It might be too small for your needs, but my absolute favorite thing in the kitchen is a Hamilton Beach 3 cup mini chopper that cost under $20. I love it so much I bought a back up in case it ever breaks and they stopped making it. But the original is still going strong after more than 10 years. It’s incredibly easy to use, handles everything from veggies to nuts to cheese, and goes into the dishwasher

One of the reasons I love that one so much is that, and this is really stupid, you just put the container on the stand and push down. You don’t have to secure it or do anything complex  – just push down. And I use mine all the time and I’ve had it for at least 10 years now and it’s still going strong

I have raved about my Hamilton Beach mini chopper before. I have decent knife skills and I don’t really need it, but now that I have one I love it so much I went and bought another one in case they ever stop making them. It can chop nuts and shred cheese (no shredder blade but the regular processor blade handles it fine) and make a fine mirepoix in seconds. It’s my favorite thing in the kitchen

Hamilton beech has a combo immersion blender, whisk, and mini processer. It's usually around $40 and is absolutely awesome. I'm six years in and going strong.

I have 2 food processors. 1 that's dedicated to aromatics usually. Mainly for garlic or garlic ginger paste. It's a cheap 3 cup Hamilton one. This is easy to wash to clean. And then the cuisine art 14 cup for meal preps and larger meals

I'm currently using the Hamilton Stack & Press. I like it because it's glass & small (we're only 2pax). I use it to make sauces / dips and it does the job really well.

I have a small one..hamilton beach I think, I use...not often but regularly for years. My mom gave it to me. Mainly when I want to chop peanuts or salt (to turn it into fine popcorn salt).....I can chop an onion pretty quick with just a knife. I'd avoid cordless, just cuz those will wear out quicker. Something like this (and this was just the top search, so no knowledge of quality) would do you fine. https://preview.redd.it/cm66993jfiwg1.png?width=1680&format=png&auto=webp&s=795c3f0226ab6d8812b186aebf98f98ece6c5968 I also see these kind of things regularly at thrift stores. Probably available if you have community give/take groups, too. As for if it's worth it for you? Honestly, i'd say get something cheap and try it. Like I said, I use mine for chopping up lots of little things, as I can do big things quicker. I actually do have a full size food processor, haven't used it in years though...just too much of a bother for my little needs...but if I was doing big level cooking, I'd pull it out.

I watched Alton Brown and learned a good way of cutting onions, so it's quick enough. I think if you get a known brand...hamilton beach, black and decker, even walmart's store brand, they'll last fine. a random named thing off amazon, maybe not. (I apologize if you're not American and I'm focusing too much on that market, it's what I know)

Tbh I use my food processor most for shredding large amounts of cheese or puree (blenders don't puree that well if there's no fluid added.)  I've also used it to make chicken-tofu hamburger steaks with whole pieces of chicken thigh. Mincing meat is decently doable by hand but a puree is a pain without a food processor imo. The rest might just be time saving. Can't tell you what kind to get though as my big one is a Hamilton Beech that's been around for like ten years. (My little one is a Cuisanart.)
