I have a ninja food processor / blender combo (the 1500W one) that I got like 10+ years ago and I still use it daily / love it. It has different attachments that all go onto the same base. I would def buy an old ninja machine again, but not sure about a new one cuz of general enshitification.
and the ninja food processor was junk quality regardless of those bullet points.
I had the Ninja BL770 with the blender and food processor. The blender has worked fine, but the food processor completely fell apart. The bolts that hold the drive shift onto the bottom of the bowl ripped the plastic threads out. It appears this is a known design flaw that Ninja is aware of, has no plan to fix (it's still happening on their newest models), and doesn't cover under warranty. If you look at their reviews, countless people have experienced the same thing. Some of them last a few years, others just a few months. I like making homemade nut butter, so I want a system that is built to last. Can anyone recommend a food processor that they have put through its paces over the years, and it's still going strong?
I've looked at some of them. Their wattage, even on the top of line models, seems crazy low compared to the ninja I had. It was 1500w, but theirs are just 500-700 from what I'm seeing. Another thing that made me hesitate is the single blade at the bottom of the processor. The ninja had a lower set and a higher set. Have you had any issues with things not mixing well at the top?
I purchase a Ninja Mega system in 2012 ( I've never liked that brand). I got on a significant sale. I read a review that said it had a very large motor--check--that rang one bell. It had a large container and a small serving container -check-that rang bell number two. Many reviews were outstanding. Can't speak for where they are at today. Criteria---small containers that fit on the master unit, big motor. It's about 14 years later and going strong!!!! I'm not pushing ninja, I'm pushing you having buying criteria and researching. Easy Peasy.
The food processor itself makes a big difference too, I had a small one for years and never used it because it just made everything into mush. Patting everything dry after washing and making sure not to crowd your pan also make a big difference. My older 8 cup ninja is a workhorse. As an example I made a very vegetable heavy cottage pie on Tuesday. While the meat was browning I prepped multiple pounds of vegetables in under 10 minutes. A pound of carrots took about 20 seconds to fice into mostly uniform 1/4 inch chunks. A pound of celery Celery takes about the same. I cut both the roots off of both then make roughly 3 inch pieces and slice the fattest carrot parts lengthwise, especially if they are very fresh. Onion takes about 6 seconds in the FP. My total hands on time for multiple onions can be 2 minutes. I just cut the roots off, peel and quarter. A pound of baby bella mushrooms takes 3 seconds. Sweet peppers/green peppers take 3 minutes total to stem, seed, cut in half and drop in the FP. Filling for deviled eggs takes 30 seconds once the eggs are peeled. An entire block of cheese takes 30 seconds to grat They aren't beautiful square dices but I'm not doing fine dining and I can make a vegetable heavy dinner on a weeknight with 20 minutes of prep instead of an hour or more.
I stand by the Ninja blender, food processor, small electric chopper, smoothie maker, etc. I got a combo pack and love it. It has lasted years and works for everything. My family members have bought them on my recommendation and love them too. Just my opinion though. I know everyone has their own preferences.
I’ve had the same ninja blender like device (it’s sort of a hybrid blender and food processor where the motor gets put on top of various containers) for like a decade and it still works perfectly
I am not sure if Ninja products are available to you but I bought one and I love it. It has the base and “attachments” for the blender, food processor and single serve smoothie cups I guess you would call them. ( I use the cups to make pesto since I am not a smoothie person)
