Based on 1 year's data from Feb 24, 2026 How it works
I've only used the mic in a discord lobby with a friend but it works well enough for that and from tests of my own audio it seems to be good on the latest firmware. What I will say is that the pro headset is seriously the most comfortable headset I have ever used. Comfort was the number one thing I was looking for and I rolled the dice on these based on a couple other redditors saying they were comfy and wow. Top tier comfort + awesome sound quality. I've worn them seriously for 8-10hours straight, basically without even feeling them on my ears/head vs the immediate discomfort I've felt with both my Corsair sets. Highly recommend the alienware pros
Get the Alienware pro headphones. They are amazing and wonderful noise cancellation.
So I was in your same situation last year. I did so much research and was torn because there are just way too many options and to be honest I was just confused. I randomly stumbled across this Alienware Pro Wireless Gaming Headset. It has almost no big name popular reviews (or atleast at the time it didnt) and im not sure why tbh. It checks all the boxes i was looking for, the Dolby atmos is great once you tune it ( i use sort of a upside down smile curve in the dolby eq settings), sound is very good and can get really loud. While gaming i keep it to 60-70. After that its just too loud. The ear cups are very comfortable and soft. The ANC mode is great and also has a transparency mode that works well. And it just looks nice, like to wear outside when not gaming. It comes in black or whitw. Mic works both attached and not attached. It also comes with a 2 year warranty. I still dont know why its not on anyone's top recommended headsets list. Maybe there is some issue with the alienware brand? Not sure to be honest. But I highly suggest. Not comfortable to game for hours.. Your ears will be on fire in less than an hour.. I ended up buying Alienware pro..
Mic is still awfull. It has incredibly agressive noice cancellation that'll keep cutting the first syllable of words. When I told Dell of this problem 6 months ago they thought it was the unit (I was certain it wasn't as the problem was known) so they sent a new one and it's the same thing, across 3 computers. No amount of playing with settings will change that until they fix the firmware. I am told to repeat pretty much everytime I use this mic instead of the other mic I got because this one is shit. Amazing sound, terrible mic.
2.4 for me. sounds great
I tried so many headphones and headsets it's crazy. The Maxwell is fine but really heavy and meh mic Rog Delta 2 has a good mic now and easy to EQ, but too expensive for what it is Razer is just average at best for most of them. Astro is great, but f the dock. JBL Quantum series sound is very average. Great bass Corsair Virtuoso Max audio quality is insanely below others at the same price point. Alienware Pro is 100$ too expensive, ears gets hot unde an hour and mine lasted 4 days. I heard good things about the Atlas Air.
any idea if it was a hardware change? know if it's only aug 2025 and later? i just received a pair that were manufactured in july 25 and wondering if i should return for replacement. the mic seems to work but the quality isnt the best IMO. wish i could hear an example of the early sets vs the newer "fixed" version so i could tell if my mic is the old or new.
Alienware pro wireless ANC superior and way more comfortable if you are wearing glasses
Arctis nova pro is garbage in my opinion it just doesn't have any bass even when you EQ it remains very weak and thin sounding in this area however treble comes across very clear and detailled and the imaging is pretty good if you only play competitive gaming it's a solid option. Though if you like to play story games i recommand something like the maxwell it sounds absolutly amazing but the comfort is as bad as it can be if you are really big person with strong neck and very little ears it might be comfy to you but if not the weight of the headphones will kill the back of your neck in less than 2 hours and the shallow pads will hurt your ears and don't even think about changing pads yeah it fixes the depth issue of the pads but it adds even more weight. So as a all rounder headphones i recommand the alienware pro wireless it sounds almost as good as the maxwell and it's way more comfortable however you ears gets very spicy in about a hour because the space inside the ear cups is not really there but it really never bothers me even now with the very hot weather. Edit: Ah yeah and if you are ever interested by wired headphones you have two others headphones that are worth it the pc38x and the epos H6 pro i don't know how the first sound but it gets a lot of praise around the gaming audio community and if you take the h6 pro make sure to take the open back i've tried the closed back and it's not really good sounding headphones compared to the open back which has more bass more detailled sound and it doesn't have this echoing boomy sound that the closed back have
