Its old now and was very steeply priced at around 80kd but I’ve had an Astro A30 since I got my PS5 at launch and it’s been great so far. Much better than the Sony official ones since it doesn’t put pressure on my dome or ears while playing. It also supports Sony’s 3d pulse audio and is very immersive for games plus voices are clear and it even comes with removable mic if you need to sound clearer to other people (the stock mic is good enough) . It’s also Very light and open. It connects quickly and reliably to everything I have from the ps5 to the Apple TV box and even my phone. And I can hear them multiple sources together if I choose to. There is even an app that adds more functionality like an equalizer etc
I had the a30s for years until the usb dongle that connects to your console or pc stopped working. Was pondering whether I should buy the new USB or a new headset. I bought the a50s and am very happy with it. Only difference to them that I wasn't the hugest fan of were the a50s aren't noise canceling, the a30s are. But the a50s are so much more comfortable so im happy
More like you want to wait for a black Friday sale lol. Astro a30s are pretty good too and can connect to all devices so long as you have the transmitters.
It depends on how much you want to spend... if you want something cheap that just works, get the Steelseries. If you're thinking about getting the Xbox official or Hypercloud, don't, just get some ASTRO A30s for $89 instead. They're the most comfortable, longest lasting, most durable headset I've ever had, and I've had quite a few since the 360 days. The Xbox Official and Hypercloud aren't bad, but Astros have always been the Gold Standard IMO, unless you move into the $150+ price range 🤷♂️
I've had numerous pairs of Astros A30, A40, and A50 headsets while competing in Halo & Gears of War. If you're going the wired route, some great bang for your buck can be found in Sennheisers & EPOS headsets. The PC38X (get the one from Drop) is fantastic, though its microphone can't be removed. The EPOS H6Pro (open or closed back) is more or less the same, but it's mic can be removed. Both are solid. But my current jam for a wireless headset is the Logitech G522 or the similarly renamed Astro A20 X headset. It's very light weight, incredibly comfy, has great battery life, a wonderful microphone, and can pair via Bluetooth or Lightspeed (via an included dongle). I use it for work, grinding ranked in The Finals, and pair it with my Steam Deck. There's a ton of range on its receiver, as I can easily walk all over my house with it. And its mic can also be removed if I want to use a dedicated boom mic, like an Elgato Wave 3, when at my desk. But honestly its mic quality is so good, I haven't for several weeks now. As I understand it, the key different with the Astro branded headset (Logitech owns Astro) is it comes with an extra dongle that allows for more connectivity to consoles like the PS5, etc. I'm not a big fan of RGB on my devices, but thanks to their G Hub app, I can easily turn that feature off. Overall, really nice headset. I ended up liking it so much, I ordered a second.
I had these and they were very comforatable and light. Lost sound on one ear tho and recently replaced with newest logitech lightspeed and they are superb with the cloth pad that come with. Also better battery. Can’t go much wrong with either.
I have these headphones and blue snowball mic but I pretty much never use it. Got logitech lightspeed x2 or whatever the newest is called and the difference in comfort is incredible. Never can go back to wired either.
