You should use Badseed Tech or Gadgetry Tech on YouTube for your headset reviews then. Both of these guys talk specifically about the cup width, height, depth, and head fitment in every review. Badseed Tech guy has a pretty big noggin and will always evaluate that. If I were you, I would watch Badseed Tech's review of the Fractal Scape. It meets all of your criteria but I can't remember if he said it was comfortable for him or not. I've had the Astro A50 Gen 4 for a lot of years and found it very comfortable. The Gen 5 is like an identical chassis but they made the earcups smaller for some inexplicable reason. Since they didn't change anything on the physical product, all the dozens of replacement pads on the market for the years old Gen 4 fit the Gen 5 headphones perfectly and all of them have bigger ear openings. Nothing can be done about the headband though except there are better padded ones on the market.
Eh. I ended up with the Arctis and not bad. Still miss my Astros but more control and better audio with Arctis. Mic quality on my end is kinda ass and it sometimes disconnects when I first turn the PS5 on.

YouTube hype everywhere: *“best gaming headset”, “amazing sound”*. About €110 later, reality hit me: **Logitech software was an absolute joke**.I kept lying to myself that they “sound good”. When that stopped working, I bought **Razer Blackshark V2** (€130). I thought: *ok, at least Razer software is better*. Wrong! If Logitech was bad, **Razer was even worse**. Next step: **Astro A50 Gen 4** (€280). Decent sound, nice wireless, BUT the well-known base station connectivity issues. I opened them up and rearranged the internal cables. It worked… until it didn’t.Still not satisfied. Then came **Audeze Maxwell** (\~€400). Good headphones. I still use them today. But somehow… *still not enough*.So I tried: * **Beyerdynamic MMX 330 Pro** (€330) Very happy. Really. But of course… not the end. Next: * **Fiio K7 DAC/AMP** (€220) * **DT 990 Pro Black – 250 ohm** (€170) This was the first time I thought: *ok, now this actually sounds right*. But YouTube and Reddit did their thing, and I started drooling over **DT 1990 Pro MK2** (€499). I bought them. I use them daily. And honestly: **I go to work and can’t wait to come home to listen to music or game**. # Conclusion from my own experience: **Stop wasting money on gaming headsets, don´t be stupid like i was !** Most of them are **overpriced, marketing-driven and held back by terrible software**. If you want real sound quality: * proper headphones (like **DT 1990 Pro MK2**) * a decent **DAC/AMP** For me, **Fiio K7 + DT 1990 Pro MK2 is endgame**. I’m done chasing upgrades.
Astro A50s, they are wireless, sound amazing and the are very comfortable, but a little pricey, but 100% worth it. I have tried all the other headsets around the price range and Astros IMO are by far the best and there is really not a close second.
Having the best sound and being the most comfortable makes those two things you mentioned not issues for me, specially since I have the fourth Gen which don’t even have bluetooth. The new Bluetooth functionality is cool, but not something I would care about hence why I didn’t “upgrade “ to the new Gen.
A couple of weeks ago I got a used Astro A50 Gen 4, connected it to pc through optical and was pretty blown away by the quality. I was surprised by how good it sounds, both in music and gaming. Very airy, nice bass, it has a warm-ish sound signature but not boomy or anything like that. I tried other gaming headsets and I hated them.
I’m not familiar with these but I would recommend Astro gaming I used to have back in ps4 days the A50 4gen and they lasted me 6 years of heavy use, now I’m on pc and use IEM headphones more practical imo
I’m a longtime Astro A50 user, since 1st Gen - I also bought the Nova Elites, but returning them and keeping my Astro A50 Gen 4 a bit longer.. Did a lot of testing with both Dolby Atmos and Sonar, but they never gave me the feeling of a better directional audio in Escape from Tarkov. So I am totally on your side here.
Astros will be the most comfortable by far. Steel series will probably last the longest because you can swab batteries. That's the only reason I gave up my astros and changed to the steel series. But astros are definitely way more comfortable. Sound and mic quality are basically the same between the two
You’ve already ran astros you said, but Gen 4 A50s have a wireless base and no software needed. Been running them for a while and the mod kits they sell for a comfier headband/ear pads are a nice touch. Haven’t died on me while using them one either, they shut off if you set them down and turn back on automatically when you pick them up.
A50 gen4 what a ballache to set up on PC eventually got the eq working but man did it take some doing and having no way to charge base station except for USB is ridiculous as your using the fking cans when the computer is on lol I turned the USB to be powered when the computer is switched off, that works. Now they work and quality and sound are good but omg what a ballache never again I will get designated Bluetooth next time.
