Astro (Logitech) - A50 (Gen 4)

Eh. I ended up with the Arctis and not bad. Still miss my Astros but more control and better audio with Arctis. Mic quality on my end is kinda ass and it sometimes disconnects when I first turn the PS5 on.

Astro A50s, they are wireless, sound amazing and the are very comfortable, but a little pricey, but 100% worth it. I have tried all the other headsets around the price range and Astros IMO are by far the best and there is really not a close second.

Having the best sound and being the most comfortable makes those two things you mentioned not issues for me, specially since I have the fourth Gen which don’t even have bluetooth. The new Bluetooth functionality is cool, but not something I would care about hence why I didn’t “upgrade “ to the new Gen.

A couple of weeks ago I got a used Astro A50 Gen 4, connected it to pc through optical and was pretty blown away by the quality. I was surprised by how good it sounds, both in music and gaming. Very airy, nice bass, it has a warm-ish sound signature but not boomy or anything like that. I tried other gaming headsets and I hated them.

Astros will be the most comfortable by far. Steel series will probably last the longest because you can swab batteries. That's the only reason I gave up my astros and changed to the steel series. But astros are definitely way more comfortable. Sound and mic quality are basically the same between the two

Astro A50s sound great on siege if you like bass. You can grab a pair of gen 4s for 200 or less new still. Gen 5s have Bluetooth connectivity if you want to connect your phone etc at the same time but they are 300.

You’ve already ran astros you said, but Gen 4 A50s have a wireless base and no software needed. Been running them for a while and the mod kits they sell for a comfier headband/ear pads are a nice touch. Haven’t died on me while using them one either, they shut off if you set them down and turn back on automatically when you pick them up.

A50 gen4 what a ballache to set up on PC eventually got the eq working but man did it take some doing and having no way to charge base station except for USB is ridiculous as your using the fking cans when the computer is on lol I turned the USB to be powered when the computer is switched off, that works. Now they work and quality and sound are good but omg what a ballache never again I will get designated Bluetooth next time.

I have Astro a50 gen 4 and they are miserable. They’re cool when they work. But currently mine won’t pair with the base station. I can’t log into control center app (has to be done on a computer) with my home Mac. So I brought them to work to use a windows computer. I tried to manually update the firmware but get an error about “bootloader mode” and now sound won’t even play out of them. I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled Astro on the computer a million times. I’ve reset the headset with Dolby and game button. I’m out of gas on this 300 dollar headset. They were pain setting up initially. They were fine for like a year. I really miss my old turtle beaches.

I'll weigh in... I have 2 sets of Astro A50 Gen 4s. The first set I bought 2nd hand from a friend that wanted to go back to wired headphones.. I was in a pickle and needed a gaming headset and checked out the A50s and they were PRETTY SICK. They're THX certified, which I cant say means anything, but they do sound very, very good. The second set of A50s I bought for my work computer, and I got them used off Ebay.. they were a sick deal.. but Ive noticed the work set has a high pitch noise that can be heard in the speakers.. so theyre basically trash. Theyre okay to wear for meetings but you cant just have them resting on your head unless you want to experience what its like to have tinnitus. So I think I got what I paid for, as I only paid 140$ CDN for the second set, and they retail for $400-500 CDN so yeah, just shouldnt have expected them to be perfect. They were good for a few months and passed the initial sound testing but yeah they failed out to have the high pitched noise. I would even consider getting a replacement set of headphones to use with the base as I do enjoy them, they have excellent range, excellent mic and without the high pitch tone they are insanely nice sounding, best sounding headphones Ive had. That being said, I did buy a pair of Sensieser (sp?) at one point that I did really enjoy, but one of my dogs got to them and that was the end of them.
