"there was wind blowing in a game, I think it was valhiem, and I literally said in my discord chat "wtf I hear wind in my room" got up to check wtf was going on, to find out it was just my headset being too good."
"the actual audio quality you get to hear is out of this world compared to the competition. ... Genuinely insane how good they are considering how bad wireless headsets tend to be compared to wired"
"They're planar-magnetic (compare to "dynamic") and thus have phenomenal bass response."

"Maxwell has better overall sound and a longer battery life ... The battery lasts over 70 hours as well."
"Also the battery life is incredible. ... Had them for like six months and I have only charged them like four times."
"Also they have 80 hours of battery life so not to bad"

"I use Maxwells for both work and gaming (up to 4 hours without taking them off) and for me personally the weight is not the issue."
"even with stock ear pads on my Audeze Maxwells I don’t get hot."
"I really liked the comfort they provided"

"Better than every other wireless headset mic still somehow ... There is maybe one headset mic that sounds better than the Maxwell's for wireless headsets."

"the mic not being recognized as functional when everything checks out systematically, weird stuff. ... Today my mic completely won't connect to anything, I BT'd it to my phone, won't register that it's on, used it on my PC, nothing. ... Went to a help page and did all the backdoor stuff with permissions, no change (everything was already correct) just more frustration. ... Too much money to forgive."
"the microphone quality was TERRIBLE out of the box. ... while talking with a friend to help me fix it, friend requested I switch back to the old headset that I'm trying to replace until we tried a new fix. ... once I found something that worked... an hour later, nope, back to trashy sound."
"detachable microphone sucks fucking ass though"

"the software not recognizing the headset using it's dongle ... I started facing issues with it that seem to be a common occurrence with the headset. ... I find fixes all the time for it! Such as switching USB ports when its not recognized which works but I expect a $300 headset with such praise not to need that kind of attention, for the steep cost (again just a gamer, not an audiophile) I'd expect my purchase to function with minimal intervention. ... I found that the usb shifting thing really isn't uncommon for the headset and that's just not okay with me for the cost."
"Mine broke in three months :c (membrane decided it didn't fancy staying intact) ... their durability should be mentioned as it isn't the greatest"

"Putting the Wicked cushions on also makes them more wide which causes the headband to be more spread out. ... I tried every position for the headband, including split positions, and it was always uncomfortable."
"It's heavy and bulky."
"personally I get sweaty and uncomfortable with most pleather/leather pads"

"side tone and mic quality are subpar and average, respectively"
I use them daily for gaming since release date, don't remember exactly - 2 years or so. Earpads are still like new! Believe it or not, I'm frankly impressed. Because pads on Penrose deteriorated in half a year. Maxwell's are a big step forward.
Ive had mine since they were released with zero issues and I use them daily for gaming. Absolutely phenomenal piece of equipment.
Agreed, it is a great wireless headphone, I just released a review for the maxwell actually with also a soundtest, if someone is interested to give it a listen -> [here ](https://youtu.be/xe3YKUn-AFE) Just one thing I wasn't the biggest fan of is actually the microphone, but I guess it gets the job done :)
Sound quality wise, Audeze Maxwell. It's planar, so there is no competition.
If you care about audio quality: Audeze Maxwell
You will love them for the music and you will love them for the music in Elden Ring. Xbox edition works on Playstation, it's kind of futureproof and works with everything. I own them for 2 almost years, limited Ultraviolet Edition (Xbox) but I'm using it for Playstation 5 and PC. I had no problems this unit but I DO HATE THE SIDETONE NOISE which Audeze does not adress at all. However, my first unit (early model of Maxwell, PS version) felt defective and I've returned it to the shop. Buy from a reputable shop that accept returns in 14 days with no reason. If you are able to get older firmware (.56 is considered the best I suppose) maybe it would be wise to not upgrade unless you have any problems. Some users reported sound profiles/lower volume they do not like in later updates. Before you update, always check if there is an option to roll that particular update back. Summary: It's much better than any dynamic drivers. It has disadvantages too. Since there is nothing better on the market I keep using my Maxwell despite sidetone noise I absolutely hate. I miss simultaneous audio too. I will leave Mawell in a heartbeat when there is other WIRELESS (important edit) gaming headset with this sound quality and without sidetone noise/with simlutaneous audio. So, you see, they are worth it but not perfect.

Is crazy this still compares to the Maxwell which is just a gaming headset. Makes the Maxwell so good for the money..just unfortunately the weight is heavy for it. But the built should be miles better than the Sens.
Audeze are generally heavy, but the weight is distributed extremely well. I'm very prone to hot spots on the top of my head, but these and my LCD-XCs have never given me any pain. You'd never assume the LCD-XCs weigh 650+ grams when they're actually on your head. I also think the clamp force on Audeze closed backs is perfect. Other than the microphone being offensively bad and the drivers being a bit fragile; it's a 10/10 "gaming" headset to me.
Yup. As of now the a50’s, original maxwells, and nova elites sound way better
Crazy right? I have launch Maxwell 1s, Astro a50s, nova elites, and now Maxwell 2’s and I can’t believe how bad the Maxwell 2s sound compared to the others. No bass or thump at all. Almost like I’m listening to music or gaming with no subwoofers on. It’s crazy bc the launch maxwells are still the best sounding headsets for music and gaming for me. I’m still hoping there’s a firmware that will fix this and yes ive changed presets and eq’d but doesn’t do much. As of now my go to headsets are Maxwell 1s and nova elites. I play on ps5 only for what it’s worth.
My Maxwell 1s, Astro a50’s and nova elites I can get solid bass out of. The Maxwell 2s sound like a great sound system without a subwoofer right now.
I have 2 versions of the original Maxwell. One is my lunch ps5 version that gets super loud and is my daily driver and the other is an xbox wasabi that came out last year thats way more quite. I also just got the ps5 Maxwell 2's and the sound is super flat and doesn't have any thump. It seems the maxwells have gotten quieter for durability reasons maybe? Im probably going to return the Maxwell 2's bc they just don't have enough thump for me when compared to the launch maxwells, nova elites or astro's a50's.
Take care of the launch Maxwell 1st. Best gaming headset I’ve had. They blow the 2s away. The newer Maxwell 1s that came out over the past year don’t hold a candle to the launch maxwells.
Unless you plan on using it with an Xbox, just go with the PS version. The price difference is due to a chip to connect to Xbox's proprietary wireless frequency and a Dolby Atmos license.
IMO no. Official support in games is limited and a lot of modern games have their own 3D audio processing built in anyways.
If you want a sleek wireless: audeze Maxwell (get the ps5/pc version since the Xbox version has dolby atmos aka more expensive snake oil) If you want a wired sturdy pair with longevity due to many replacement parts available: mmx300/mmx330 If you want the Absolut best sound I'd get a proper audiophile pair of headphones. However keep in mind that this means spending extra money on a dac/Amp. The mmx300 will definitely also greatly benefit of a dac/Amp. Cheers
If you want wireless the Audeze Maxwell are the go to for high resolution gaming. You might wanna wait a bit tho since there is a Maxwell 2 on the way which might also cause the Maxwell 1 to get a bit cheaper. I personally have great experience with Beyerdynamic Custom GAME (if you can still find them) alternatively there is the mmx300 however it is definitely more neutral sounding (you can add some base via an EQ tho)
Have you thought about the audeze Maxwell?
There are Two versions thought. Be Sure to get the one for PlayStation and Mac if you want to Play on such - for pc and Xbox there is another Version cause of the atmos licenses
Best Gaming headset ive ever owned and Even better than many Studio Headsets ive had
