Maxwell Wireless (Xbox Version)

You will love them for the music and you will love them for the music in Elden Ring. Xbox edition works on Playstation, it's kind of futureproof and works with everything. I own them for 2 almost years, limited Ultraviolet Edition (Xbox) but I'm using it for Playstation 5 and PC. I had no problems this unit but I DO HATE THE SIDETONE NOISE which Audeze does not adress at all. However, my first unit (early model of Maxwell, PS version) felt defective and I've returned it to the shop. Buy from a reputable shop that accept returns in 14 days with no reason. If you are able to get older firmware (.56 is considered the best I suppose) maybe it would be wise to not upgrade unless you have any problems. Some users reported sound profiles/lower volume they do not like in later updates. Before you update, always check if there is an option to roll that particular update back. Summary: It's much better than any dynamic drivers. It has disadvantages too. Since there is nothing better on the market I keep using my Maxwell despite sidetone noise I absolutely hate. I miss simultaneous audio too. I will leave Mawell in a heartbeat when there is other WIRELESS (important edit) gaming headset with this sound quality and without sidetone noise/with simlutaneous audio. So, you see, they are worth it but not perfect.

Sound quality wise, Audeze Maxwell. It's planar, so there is no competition.

Depends on what you want. I have Audeze Maxwell, it had the best sound possible (90mm planar drivers), decent enough mics on PS, poor additional functions (no simultaneous audio and sadly sidetone has noise), 80 hours capacity battery. Comfort is OK for me for several hours despite the headset is heavy "on the paper". It's also perfect for critical music listening and this cannot be said about any other gaming headset out there. DAC with custom profiles onboard, wireless, Xbox version works with Playstation too. I had Steelseries Wireless Pro and the sound quality was worse (dynamics drivers) than Audeze Maxwell, but it was still better than other headsets on the market. There is no perfect headset out there. Just pick what is the most important thing to you. The more expensive headsets are worth it IMO. But it depends if you are able to not break your stuff and if you can hear the difference (because some people do not really hear the difference since they cannot hear certain frekvencies so well).

Audeze Maxwell is heavy but if it fits there is no discomfort and the weight is nicely distributed. I do not mind them for 8+hours but I can't stand some other headsets for 30 minutes. It's important to realise those are not cans you take out to the gym.

Turtle Beach Stealth Pro, as far as I've heard from reviews. No personal experience, I'm using Audeze Maxwell. The best I've personally heard was some wired open back AudioTechnica. Ik ben ook recent op zoek gegaan. Ook ik speel meer verhaal-georienteerde / singleplayer games. Mijn dagelijkse headphone voor het luisteren van muziek is de B&W Px8 en op mijn PC gebruikte ik de Logitech G Pro X. Door het gebruik van die Px8 begon ik me meer en meer te storen aan de Logitech en dus startte ik ook een zoektocht. En ja, ik kwam ook uit tussen de keuze voor de Maxwell 2 of de Pro Wireless. Nee, sorry, de Elite, dat kan ik er niet aan geven, dus niet gehoord. Dus wat is mijn mening? Audeze Mawell 2. Het detail en de breedte van dat detail. Ik heb een aantal scenes gepakt om te luisteren naar wat ik aangenamer vond. Ik wil de term "beter" niet gebruiken omdat dit allemaal zo persoonlijk is. Baldur's Gate 3, het kampvuur met de atmosfeer die er rondom gebeurd. Bij de Steelseries klinkt het meer samen en vergaan er wat details. De scheiding tussen de atmosfeer en het vuur op zich is er wel, maar met de Audeze Maxwell 2 zijn zelfs de details eigen aan het vuur prominenter hoorbaar terwijl je het leven rondom in het kamp evenzeer gedetailleerd hoort. Expedition 33, dit spel is zo gecentraliseerd rond z'n soundtrack. De Steelseries Nova Wireless Pro deden het goed met inderdaad die warmere textuur, maar het verschilt niet zo heel veel van mijn Logitech G Pro X. Ook na wat EQ en kom ik tot dezelfde conclusie dat de Steelseries een geluid proberen te creëren dat door veel mensen als aangenaam zal worden omschreven. Maar het mist impact en als we dat vertalen naar Expedition 33, dan heb je dat juist nodig, die impact, niet het afgeronde, zachtere geheel van de Steelseries. Het dynamische geluid / muziek van Expedition 33 is gewoon 100x krachtiger met de Audeze Maxwell 2. Het legt de emotie bloot met elke noot en is dat niet wat je wil en wat de bedoeling is van zo een dynamische geluid zoals het voorzien is in het spel? Doom. Ok, hier gaat mijn voorkeur uit naar de Steelseries. Het blend allemaal wat meer en het minder analytisch karakter geeft een betere immersion. Maar, en dat vind ik wel grappig en het doet er niet toe naar gamepley toe, maar heeft er iemand het vergelijk eens gedaan als je naar de soundtrack luistert op beide headsets? Als je de game speelt met de Maxwell 2 dan ben je zo gefocust op die soundtrack. het VERSCHIL is dag en nacht. Het lijkt mij alsof de Steelseries merkt dat het een shooter is en dat deze je pakt met de explosies, de schoten, etc. De Maxwell 2 pakt dat ook, maar de soundtrack komt echt wel gigantisch meer naar voren. Geen idee hoe dit juist komt, maar het is het enige spel waar ik dit zo opvallend vaststel en mocht het daarover gaan dan zou deze met glans de Wireless Pro van Steelseries opzij zetten, maar nee, eerlijk is eerlijk, De Steelseries is de betere keuze voor dit spel naar mijn mening. Alien: Isolation. Veel mensen onderschatten dit spel. Dit is wat mij betreft één van de beste spellen ooit gemaakt als het sfeer aankomt. En ik ga hier niet flauw doen en gewoon zeggen om de Steelseries links te laten liggen. Waarom? Kijk, je zal perfect kunnen EQen enzo, maar ik gaf het eerder al aan dat de Steelseries alles wat meer afrond en blend. Dat is geen kritiek. Gewoon een vaststelling. Maar, hierdoor verlies je detail. Bij Alien:Isolation hoor je veel beter directioneel waar de Alien zich bevind eerder dan dat je dat hoort bij de Steelseries. Bij de Steelseries gaat dat eerste detail wat verloren. Beste voorbeeld hier. Je moet op een bepaald moment wat breakers verzetten, maar er zitten synthetics in die ruimte. Wat doe ik? Ik verschuil me onder een desk achter wat crates en probeer te timen en te luisteren alvorens ik naar het panel ga. Ik heb dit een keer of 5 gedaan om zeker te zijn da het niet aan het karakter van het spel ligt en de randomness van de Alien. Dat is uitgeloten. Ik kan zeggen dat met de Audeze Maxwell 2 het duidelijker is als de Alien zich verder van je bevind. Ik heb het niet over je beeper, maar over de geluiden die deze maakt in de gangen en de ventilatie. Met de Steelseries hoor je dat ook, maar ga je je zo hard moeten focussen om dat detail op te pikken en het gaat meetstal verloren in de achtergrond wanneer de synthetics spreken. Da's niet het geval bij de Audeze Maxwell 2. Je hoort de Alien al beter komen of waar zich deze ongeveer bevind, zelfs zonder dat de beeper al gaat en met dialoog van de synthetics. Hier hoor je wat mij betreft een aanzienlijke verschil tussen planar magnetic drivers en de standaard dynamic drivers. Muziek? Mja, laten we daar niet op ingaan. Het is smaak, maar daar kies ik voor mijn Px8, ja zelfs boven de Mawell 2. Maar voor gaming en zeker de spellen die ik speel is er geen wereld waarin ik de Steelseries zou kiezen. Ik heb deze dan ook gewoon teruggestuurd (na wat discussie met Coolblue over de intentie waarom) Zo, dat was mijn input en als er vragen zijn of opmerkingen, laat je gerust gaan.

I have 2 versions of the original Maxwell. One is my lunch ps5 version that gets super loud and is my daily driver and the other is an xbox wasabi that came out last year thats way more quite. I also just got the ps5 Maxwell 2's and the sound is super flat and doesn't have any thump. It seems the maxwells have gotten quieter for durability reasons maybe? Im probably going to return the Maxwell 2's bc they just don't have enough thump for me when compared to the launch maxwells, nova elites or astro's a50's.

Crazy right? I have launch Maxwell 1s, Astro a50s, nova elites, and now Maxwell 2’s and I can’t believe how bad the Maxwell 2s sound compared to the others. No bass or thump at all. Almost like I’m listening to music or gaming with no subwoofers on. It’s crazy bc the launch maxwells are still the best sounding headsets for music and gaming for me. I’m still hoping there’s a firmware that will fix this and yes ive changed presets and eq’d but doesn’t do much. As of now my go to headsets are Maxwell 1s and nova elites. I play on ps5 only for what it’s worth.

My Maxwell 1s, Astro a50’s and nova elites I can get solid bass out of. The Maxwell 2s sound like a great sound system without a subwoofer right now.

I’d get the Maxwells. Like others have said the app is wonky, but the sound is amazing and the wireless dongle maintains rock solid connection. For PC you should get the Xbox version
