Based on 1 year's data from Feb 15, 2026 How it works
Im still using Penrose x untill they break im not upgrading.
Only thing that’s missing is that they don’t have the dual audio like the Penrose (2 audio sources at once) apart from that I love this headset, ran my Penrose to death will do the same with this, unless the next generation brings the double audio feature back lol
ooh! Missed that. I can't do without simultaneous bluetooth anymore. Boggles my mind that the Audeze Penrose had it and the Maxwell does not. I did like the Penrose, but quality of life features were so much better on the Nova Pro. Wish I could get all the quality of life things, better range, and the sound quality of the Audeze in one package...
Neither! Invest in a better headset that's comfortable. I swear to God I still have my Penrose and Maxwell sitting in their cases. If you have a big ass head and neck and don't easily get headaches, by all means buy the Maxwell. I'd suggest getting the first one, as there's no significant difference in both models. There's some design changes in the new one but weighs more.
I’m not gonna buy any Audeze Gaming Products anymore. 2x Audeze Penrose broke. They even send Maxwells as a Replacement. So far so good. Now one maxwell is also broken. I don‘t know what they are doing on QA over there. Sound quality is good though.
And audeze penrose sounded better than gen 1 maxwell. Yes I have both but unfortunately broke the penrose
Yeah was only a matter of time with the penrose that was back in warzone 1 days with only a 6 to 8 hr charge had to charge it often and same cable got caught and fell
I had a *connected* set of Audeze Penrose that *connected* would constantly lose connection *connected* every couple minutes or so and it would drive me *connected* bananas. I ended up buying a Steel Series Nova Pro and never looked back. Not a fan of this brand.
Neat. I sit 7 feet from my Xbox and it did it non stop about 6 months after buying and I did an update. I unplugged other wireless devices to see if something was interfering. I even tried rolling back the update but it wouldn't let me.
You’d probably be better off with the audeze penrose or maxwell. Mobius is more of a wired pc centric gaming headphone.
Bought these then returned them and stuck with my Penrose. Dual BT connection is very important to since I use my phone as a second screen for a guide video and or facetime call. I dont understand why they removed that feature. Im not an audiophile but I didnt hear much of a difference in sound quality between the two and the Penrose has a bigger 100mm driver vs the 90mm on the Maxwells. The battery life and build quality however are different stories. Definitely something to think about because they are night and day. The Maxwell has a much longer battery life and feels more well built with metal.
Its a fantastic headset, i previously owned the Penrose. I highly reccomend the Wicked Coushion Earpads. They prevent suction when taking off and putting the headset on.
No issues at all. I had 3 Penrose and the first two had Diaphragm issues. Third pair lost power after about 2 plus years. The Maxwells I have I put WC on right out of the box and have not had any issues at all, I even allow my 10 year old daughter to use them. She knows to becareful putting on and taking off. Only conplaint is the Planar drivers dont do Bass as good as other head sets.
