Audio-Technica’s ATH-G1s have been fantastic. I’m probably due for an upgrade to the ATH-M50xSTS but I also daily the regular ATH-M50x. Damn near impossible to beat at the price point, and would leave funds for an external mic like a Yeti

And the actually good headphones with a mic category of headphones is extremely small, mmx300 pro,pc 38x,, and audio Technica m50x with a mic are the only options that come to mind

I have the **Audio-Technica M50xSTS** w/USB connection. Beforehand I used hyperx cloud II's so these were my first non surround sound headest, which took a little to get use too. But the sound quality is insane! I have never had such crisp audio gaming or listening to music. The mic is one of the best for being on a headset, again very clear and top quality. I am a glasses wearer so always worry about if there are comfortable but these were fine! Tbh, my hyperx's were comfy as well but the ear cups were very bulky compared to my current headset. These don't pinch at all. There is no RGB and they only come in black. I am in the UK so I only just looked at the price on Amazon US and yeah...they are very expensive over the pond 😯 They are £165 in the UK, currently $249 on Amazon US. Outside of your budget but just had to give my recommendation (plus I typed this all out before checking the US price 😂).

My wife has an Arctis 7 and it works good. Mic quality is decent, range is good for wireless. I'm wired, I have Audio Technica ATHM50XSTS (headset + mic) and it's fantastic. There is a usb variant for those without audio interfaces

The Audio Technica M50STS has a very nice mic. I actually use the xlr version, but a usb one exists also.

Audio-Technica m50x with bigger ear pads. And then I bought a 2.5 to 3.5mm adapter and just added a cable with a mic in it. So now I have a wired headset that doesn’t sound bad at all!

Glad someone mentioned the Audio-Technica brand. My M50xSTS USB are still going strong and showing no signs of imminent death. And the microphone quality is TV-broadcasting-level great.

It's not everyone's headset. The mic is great, though too sensitive for loud environments or undisciplined use. It's a great cardioid condenser in the heart of the **Audio-Technica ATH-M50xSTS StreamSet, USB version**. The cable can't be replaced without disassembly, but unless I'm using my XLR mics and separate headphones they're what I always reach for, and they have a convenient ear cup mounted volume control that varies mic monitoring with other sound. I rotate the rest of my headphones around, keeping whatever isn't in immediate service in dust resistant compartments, but the A-T headset is always hanging above my desktop, ready to grab whenever needed: zoom meetings, phone calls, VR, gaming. In a noisy room or if you generate lots of other noises while using a mic that you don't want it to report on, then you need an insensitive dynamic mic instead, and you still have to be right up on it using a similar ear cup mounted gooseneck or a boom stand. If instead you view your audio contribution like a podcaster crafts their output, then this could be the headset for you. It's not simply "at least an okay quality", it's not an ideal shaped or positioned housing, but it's otherwise of vocals recording quality, it shreds everything HyperX has to offer, and it'll raise your game clips to archival quality. All the DAC/ADC processing is in the headset, and so no other equipment is required, just an open USB port, and the ATH-M50x headphones based audio reproduction, and gaming worthy construction isn't shabby either.

Audio Technica ATH-M50XSTS. Wired, perfect with the built in mic. I have loads of headphones and I find these by FAR the best for my sim rig.
