It's not the category that's good vs the other, it's the specific equipment that you use. Both can be awesome. For a wireless gaming headset with mic, I really enjoyed the Bang and Olufsen Beoplay models. Cable management's usually just a setup struggle; once in place you learn how to handle the headphone cable and the rest stay static.

Nothing good as far as I know. Wireless headphones that has no delay always come with the microphones. But if you want one for gaming, Bang & Olufsen Beoplay Portal is the best gaming headphone I have ever used under 200. Xbox version is still around that price on Amazon.

Xbox version works on windows. It has very little delay because, you know, gaming headphones. Changing an adapter will not reduce delay as long as the headphone you are using works on Bluetooth by the way.

No, you cannot change the codec if your device doesn't support it. Assuming we are talking about Bluetooth headphones, that will require a hardware change.

You are still limited with Bluetooth speeds. However, if you have a 2.4 Ghz dongle that has two sides one connecting to the wired headphone, the other one connecting to the USB port, that would work I think. You would have the great sound quality as a bonus :)

As I said on other comment, I'd recommend Audeze Maxwells or B&O Beoplay Portal. Both should sound great and I have my biases towards B&O, but Maxwells are really highly reviewed too. I wouldn't go for bluetooth only headphones for your use case, since they will not sound good when used over bt if microphone is also used and microphone quality is also limited by the bluetooth. I would also probably look into getting a dedicated mic if you're into streaming and don't need the flexibility of a wireless mic, especially if you get a headphones that sound otherwise great and fill all the boxes, but the mic is meh. You can always buy used Blue Yeti or similar for cheap and when talking to your friends the mic quality from a headset is probably good enough unless it's a very bad one or a bluetooth one, since the audio can be inconsistent over bluetooth, at least in my experience of using bluetooth headset with the headset's microphone while playing VR in discord, using Sennheiser Momentum 4's and Sony WF-1000XM3's (yes, the earbuds ones). Especially if you use discord, pretty much every mic sounds okay enough as long as there's not overly aggressive processing or low bandwith for the microphone to work in. Discord has pretty aggressive and pretty good audio processing to make people sound good, which is very apparent if everyone used headsets mics and you go back to teamspeak or other services with little to no processing.
