beyerdynamic makes a couple good models for gamers, the mmx 200 wireless and the mmx 300 pro wired. it's an actual audio brand that isn't about marketing or flashy design or rgb
Studio headsets are fine. Usually they're not cheap. Standard gaming headsets are meh. I'm using Beyer Dynamic MMX 200 (Wired/Bluetooth/comes with own dongle too) and you can exchange the pads. I had a couple gaming headsets and they all landed in the trash after a few years. Just cheap plastic crap breaking (yes, i look at you Logitech) P.S.: My Beyer Dynamic has 7.1 sound and costs 200+ bucks but i'm more than happy with it and the microphone is great for a headset.
I'm using now since years the beyerdynamic MMX 200 wireless. Similar usecase like you, work meetings and gaming, streaming. Comes with it's own dongle, can also be operated by USB. Battery lasts longer than a day. Has great sound, good mic, replaceable pads. Don't by any "Gaming headsets" like Logitech etc. - all garbage. Full plastic, falls apart after 2 years.
Over the last 20 years or so i bought \~15 headsets. What's left of these: 1 cheap Sennheiser i use with my work Laptop when i'm not at home 1 Beyer Dynamic MMX 200 i still use 1 Mediocre Bluetooth Headset i have in a drawer just in case. The other 9 or so all landed in ewaste. Razer, Logitech, Corsair etc If you're happy with your headset get a cheap bluetooth mic you can put on your shirt or so. Like a cheap DJI for 40 bucks or so.
I use Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 80 Ohm as wired headphones for best sound experience and when I need a mic but still a good sound experience and wireless then Beyerdynamic MMX 200. Sadly they no longer produce MMX 200 but you can get a more expensive version MMX 300. The **MMX 200** are really good when it comes to a crisp clear sound and the microphone is so good that you can even use it for podcasts. Build quality is superb. I’ve had them for a year and have been using daily with 0 issues. Even the leather cushions have 0 wear and tear. They are also really good in noise cancellation. Also, they are **driverless headsets.** So, just plug and play and **no** need for **gimmick software**. Whatever you do, don’t go for those “gaming” headsets that most youtubers put on reviews. They are all utter garbage for an overinflated price. Reading your previous experience with those “gaming” headsets is a proof that they are all shit compared to studio headphones or headsets.
Beyerdynamic mmx200s are the best.
Had the mmx300 before. Got an mmx200 now cause i wanted to be wireless. Can use it both on pc and deck with the press of a button to switch between bluetooth and dongle. Mic seems great on that one too. Rocked my mmx300 for a few years.
I just remembered that beyerdynamics has actual wireless gaming headsets and the reviews are quite good on them - a few of my friends use those, might be worth checking out ❤️ it's the mmx series
