I'd just get your choice of headphones paired with something like an Antlion Modmic. You don't get pidgeonholed into something "gaming" and can select any good quality headphones you like. Been using the same set of Beyerdynamic DT770 Pros for ~8 hours a day since 2007 with a modmic. Granted I replaced the pads a few times, but that all depends on how greasy your hair/head is, and you can wash them, but the leather parts of the headband show no signs of use. Sliders are a known cracking weak point on them (I only noticed it last year myself), but a 3d printed replacement cost pennies.
1990s are like 600-700 bucks, but you don't need to spend that kind of money. Dt 770/990 more than does the job for around 200. Personally I have a set of dt1990+modmic at home, and a set of dt770+modmic for work. The dt 770 set is 19 years old and still going strong.
Only thing I've had to do is replace the slider housings with 3d printed ones cause they cracked (apparently known issue with them, as there are tons of 3d printed options out there), and replace earpads (but those I consider a consumable anyway and ymmv as I have very greasy hair so they get dirty faster than for others).
Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro with a modmic or the MMX 300 PRO which comes with a mic.
