sony pulse elite is wireless and much better than all the other closed back options in that price range for gaming wired open back beyerdynamic tygr 300 r if your best bet IEM you can get Kefine Delci AE under $100 even after taxes on sale($89 msrp) from aliex edit:/ also cloud 2s were never made by kingston, just marketed and sold by them, it was a takstar OEM product based on Takstar Pro 80, on cloud alphas they did some more modifications, tuned it more neutral like Takstar Hi 2050(open back) and put nicer earpads from Takstar Pro 82

If you need a mic the pc38x. If not then tygr 300r, or the dt 900 pro x. I love my 900 pro x for apex, but also general use like YouTube and music.

This. I daily both the 560S and the TYGR. 560S are my work/office PC headphones and I do occasionally game on it and the soundstage is excellent. I have them EQ'd as well so that helps the bass a bit. They were stiff for the first couple weeks but either I got used to them or they loosened up and now I can wear them all day. I have the TYGR on my main gaming setup and love them. No need for EQ and are wonderful. They have good bass and good soundstage as well. I think they are more comfortable as well.

generally you want something on the bassier side to give your sfx that rumble and body to them. whether its explosions, weapons clashing, dragons or giants thudding around. soundstage and imaging (positional audio) are also great to have. Gives you a more realistic wide sense of space and even though we're not doing fps, walking into a town and being able to tell and pick apart npc conversations or hearing something come up behind you is still great. 2 options I'd pick: closed back - fiio ft1: bassier signature, strong imaging, soundstage is abit of a mixed bag. Some people find it wide, some people find it narrow, the stock pads are quite good at isolating sound but you can swap out the pads that isolate less and give you a bigger sense of sound. These are one of the best bang for bucks in audio rn openback: tygr 300r: also bassier signature, but openback very strong imaging, very good sound stage for the price. within your budget I think these would be the most ideal openback, x2hr are good but the tygr's are a stepup in alot of areas goodluck and enjoy whatever you get

I can't say anything about the 990s but I have a 560s which I adore and use balanced of a fiio btr5. I've tried the Beyer Tygr since I gifted them to my brother and the Hd560s feels much more comfortable since the cups swivel while the Beyer's seen to just clamp straight.

Sorry for the length here but if you want a Beyer dynamic summary from a guy that's owned, repaired, refurbed, and sold almost all their models. Here ya go. I've noticed some Beyer dynamic recommendations and you've replied you want to stay open back. The 900 pro x or the TYGR models should be perfect. The 1990 pro is a bit of overkill but they're some of the best built headphones I've ever owned. I sometimes come across the older model they were based off that work and look perfect from decades ago. The 900 pro x and TYGRs will not need much amplification tho (if any) while the 1990s will. I plug mine into a JDS labs atom2 stack and love it. If you're sensitive to treble spikes stay clear of the 990 pro models. The TYGRs I mentioned earlier are similar to the 990 but slightly altered tuning I find more appealing for long use. No treble spike either. To sum up for Beyer dynamic open back. 1990 pro with JDS labs atom stack 2 if you want to throw down the cash. 900 pro x with any dongle or DAC. TYGR any dongle or DAC. Also, considering you're coming from bass oriented headphones like the Sony's, the 900 pro x might be the easiest to adjust to. They have a significant bass emphasis compared to the other models (although not as much as where you're coming from) while still being very clear and macro dynamic in comparison. Extremely comfortable except for the clamp force when brand new. I had to fully extend them when not in use and put some books between them to stretch them out a bit. With a little patience they fit perfectly.

The best one is not labelled as the gaming headphones. They are labelled as studio monitoring headphones, that allows you to hear even a single pin drops in loud places. Go for beyerdynamics tygr300 Thank me later

I went for the tygr 300, no turning back. Always mostly shopped audio technica, not a bad product but a lot heavier then beyer dynamics. As you said can wear them all day and now being a bit older I prefer open back as closed back was giving me anxiety and moist earholes

If you like Beyerdynamic, you can look into the TYGR 300R. Terrible name, but honestly really nice headphones. Very light, pretty good staging, a sound-profile that doesnt have this brain-piercing beyerdynamic-peak in the highs and is overall a pretty good allrounder. Tried out many Beyers two years ago and a few Sennheisers and that was surprisingly my favorite and workhorse since then. (I usually put a lot of distance between me and anything that is called "Gaming something something")

While the Maxwell are the best option in their class overall, especially if audio quality is a criteria, specifically for competitive fos games you want dynamic open backs. I don’t how you would connect them to the ps5 (I’m sure they make dacs specifically for it) but check out both Sennheiser hd600 series ( which includes the hd38x, the hd490pro and several 600 variants - 600, 6xx, 650, 660, etc) and the 9 series Beyerdynamics ( dt900, 990, 1990 ). Source - me, have both Audeze and Sennheiser speakers and play a lot of fps. The Audeze are simply better for almost everything. Except footsteps in competitive fps games. Edit: just saw that you need a headset not just headphones - both Sennheiser (EPOS brand, PC and GSP series) and Beyerdynamic (MM, Tygr) have “gaming” options. You can also add audio-technica to the list too, they also have multiple options that will fit.
