Corsair - HS80 MAX WIRELESS

i recently purchase the same pair on sale. it’s my 5th corsair type of headphone in my years of being part of the corsair crew. i can say without a doubt best headset yet. my only gripe is that they show allow for recoverable cushions for cleaning. . . gamers get sweaty

I use a pair of Corsair HS80 Max , they use a USB dongle, and can connect to a Bluetooth device as well. They are the most comfortable headset I have used. They were $180 when I got mine, currently on sale at Amazon for $140.

Meh sound that requires an EQ, bad sidetone, and forced iCue is awful. Comfy, good looking, and very well built though. Mic is solid too after the firmware update. Can definitely do much worse Moved to the Turtle Beach Atlas Air, which sound better (they are open back so not really a fair comparison), have a better mic, and actual clear sidetone, settings save to the headset so no forced software, and somehow are even more comfortable. Don’t feel as “premium” but haven’t looked back.

I had this with my HS80 Max’s and thought it was just them, but then the same exact thing happened on my Turtle Beach wireless ones I got to replace them. Turned out that using a USB extension cable to bring the dongle closer to the headphones was actually the cause of it. Having it plugged in directly to my motherboard fixed the issue for me, even though my PC is hidden behind my TV. At least on my Turtle Beaches. Don’t have the HS80 Max anymore to test

I switched mine out with earpads from Wicked Cushions with cooling pads inside. A little thicker too which makes it even more comfortable to wear. Love the HS80 Max, mic is suprisingly amazing too <3

Corsair HS 80 has the best microphone I've ever heard on a headset. It matches normal usb mics. However, DO NOT GET THE HS 80 MAX! They used the high bandwidth on the audio rather than the mic on the new hs 80 max. The hs 80 max has a terrible mic due to the reduction in bandwidth.

Currently using corsair hs80max. Regular hs80s broke down but max seems to be better. Sound is very good for a wireless device

I don't know what your talking about, my hs80 keeps breaking every 6 months, every 6 months corsair sends me a new. I'm on the 3rd one right and this summer again I'm going to have to replace them. The battery life sucks, has less then 12 hours of life if lucky, the connection is very poor, and the earmuffs break off after 6 months. I wouldn't recommend the hs80 to anyone, I would personally stay away from corsair, and go with logitech instead.

The twesting mechanism is set to twist only 90 degrees, but what I experienced after couple months of usage is loosening and twesting more than 90 degrees. On my first pair it twisted 360 degrees both ways. In general stay away from corsair products if there is an alternative like logitech. Yes even I sometimes buy corsair products here and there, becuase there isn't any competitors, but I make sure to use my warranty, and switch my product every a year or so.

Yeah, love mine, too. The battery life is out of this world.

I have heard a lot of good things about the Astro A50 Gen 5! There is a more expensive variant (A50X) but the only difference is the dock and some minor cosmetic differences. Defo give them a look! They can be a little pricy though Logitech Aurora headset is also quite good, but the mic is a little lacking. But the audio quality is nice and they are comfy! I only used them momentarily at an acquaintances home, but they seem to enjoy them. I would personally steer clear of Corsair and Razer. Pretty much everyone in my circle has had nothing but bad luck with their peripherals :') My Corsair headset (Virtuoso SE) I've had to RMA twice, and my friends Razer Kraken Kitty headset broke within a month. If you get lucky with the Virtuoso, they are really good. But Corsairs iCue software is terrible and I don't like how they sound without some heavy EQ tweaking. Similarly, the HS80 Max is comfy and has stellar audio & mic quality, but the build quality has seemed very inconsistent (my partner had to RMA his pair once already and has owned them for 6 months). The upside is that they seem to work well without iCue as opposed to the Virtuoso.

Agreed. I’ve had some ungodly expensive headsets, and nothing has compared to the HS80 Max.

The HS80 has one of the best microphones too. I also replaced my ear cups with a different material on Amazon. I don’t like how the icue software doesn’t show battery percentage, only low medium or high, and it doesn’t last as long as it did when I got it a year and a half ago - but it’s a lightweight headset with pretty good sound, and a great microphone for discord or taking with teammates

Having a great headset is not going to make you a better player it will help with hearing certain sounds better. It would be better to just EQ ur current headset for Bo6 or Warzone (**GadgetryTech is best),** there's also ArtisWar, but ArtisWar installs to many applications. (ArtisWar also in my opinion is basically cheating) Just go for a Headset that you like. If you really want a Pro's Headset you will most likely be paying a arm and a leg for it they can get very pricey. \[Not like it matters, but I use the HS80 Max, it's very easy to hear footsteps with **GadgetryTech** Warzone EQ\]

I dont know why I havent tried the corsair headsets until now. I always stick with corsair products whenever it comes to pc gaming gear and components, the past 10 years Ive been trying to stick with one maker cause I dont want a bunch of proprietary software that is required for these devices. My motherboard and GPU are made by Asus and they have the absolute worst software Armoury Crate that is required for them, but i made myself stick with them and get Asus pc gaming gear so they can all function from one application

I was wondering about that cause i was thinking of switching out the cotton ear cushions, which feel amazing, with leather or something that doesnt get that dirty with continuous use. I can def understand how it can be a problem like that, im not necessarily a sweaty person but we all have stuff like hair and skin oil that smear on the cushions/headset normally. Thats why I usually get leather cushions for my headsets if they dont already have them

That's a good question, but everyone perceives sound a little differently. I can only tell you that I'm very happy with my HS80 Max with Dolby Atmos. Of course, the Virtuoso has a slightly better sound, but it doesn't make my teammates' voices any better :D

Let's put it this way (even if some people will now give us the thumbs down): ICUE itself isn't bad; it would just be easy to develop software without errors. Then Windows would work without any problems from day one. The advantage of the HS80 Max is that it is a multi-platform gaming headset. This means that you can also connect it via Bluetooth and don't necessarily need iCUE.

I agree on the sound department. The mids are too low and the high end just doesn’t have enough detail. I did a comparison between the Corsair HS80 Max and the v4 Pro and the difference is massive to a point where I am shocked that such expensive headsets are tuned like this. The default presets are terrible. Low midrange performance, barely any detail, narrow soundstage and muddy sound. I have tried to EQ it but I simply cannot make them match the HS80 Max. Really disappointed because I do enjoy the haptics quite a damn lot.

I will always stand by the Corsair HS80 Max. Been using it for around two years and it's just fantastic. Super comfortable, big and detailed sound, range for ages, decent mic and also has bluetooth.

I love mine. The battery life is amazing, I'm routinely shocked by how long they can go before I have to recharge.

Bought a Corsair HS 80 Max and I really like it. Comfy, sound is good, mic is good and it's wireless, which I never want to miss again.

For gaming I use the Corsair HS 80 Max and I absolutely love them. Clear audio and a pretty decent microphone, which also is an important factor, when it comes to Multiplayer gaming.

I personally think HS80's are garbage. The sound is horrible, sounds all muddy and shit the only decent thing is the mic it's also very uncomfortable. Got a studio headphones after discovering how garbage they are, couldn't be more happy after that. If you're not sensitive to sound quality, sure go ahead get them. But if you're sensitive to sound quality like me you're gonna hate them. 2/10 headset at best. Probably gonna get downvoted, but just saying the truth.

Wait till the hinge buckle cracks. As much as possible do not stretch it widely when wearing. If only they made that part metal then I could say that its a perfect headset for me so far. But no.

I have the HS80 wired, and it's great, I just hate the wire, so I tried the MAX for a few days and returned it. It was amazing being able to get snacks without taking it off or laying in bed without needing to change headphones, but the sideline sucked on it.

My only issue is that they sacrificed enough mic quality for my friends to have noticed when I moved from the regular HS80

These are the most frustrating headphones I have ever had. THE GOOD: The sound quality is the absolute best I have used in any gaming headset. they are very comfortable and the metal construction gives me hope for a long lasting set. Flip-to-Mute mic is my jam and i love that feature. THE BAD: THE IS NO SIDETONE and iCue causes massive mic issues. First, you can not hear yourself at all when you're talking in to the mic. It's seriously like talking with your fingers in your ears.. This issue has plagued this line from Corsair for years and they will not fix it. Support literally told me to spend over $350 to get this basic feature. They said the sidetone on this model is "low". There's no setting that changes it I tried everything. The mic itself works pretty good, but I can watch the iCue software lower the mic volume by itself with out any input on my part. Nearly all of my computer's components are Corsair products and I love them, but these headphones are unbelievably frustrating and am returning them as soon as i can find a decent replacement.

HS80 Max’s were my go to until I was given the virtuoso max at an extreme discounted rate, all of my peripherals are corsair

If I were you, skip the Virtuoso Max. HS80 Max still sounds great, is comfortable to use, has Dolby Atmos, Sound ID and I do think the flip up to mute mic just works better. If you don’t like the flip to mute feature, you at least have to option to program the volume wheel click to toggle mute if you prefer that option. Lastly, the HS80 is a lot less expensive.

hmm. Arctis Nova Pro or Blackshark V2 Pro. I am currently using corsair hs80 and my bose qc35 II sounded better

I'm a big fan of Logitech, when coming to mice and my keyboard, but when coming to my headset, I prefer my Corsair HS80 Wireless, they are just leagues ahead of Logitech

One question I have is does the audio cut out? I have the HS80 and in wireless mode the audio will randomly cut out. It comes back but I have tried everything to get it to not. I have read it could be due to 2.4GHz wireless networks but not much I can do about that. Was considering going for these but didn't want to run into the same issue.

I have tried everything short of turning off my 2.4GHz network, can't do that as I have a lot of IoT devices plus there are my neighbors 2.4GHz bands to worry about. Nothing else I have from Corsair wireless (mouse) does that so it must be the channel the headset runs on. If only we could change that on the headset.

I had the donkey on the top of the PC which is right next to my head and it did it. I tried the motherboard just in case same thing. Have yet to try the dangle though. Might give that a shot to see if it makes it any better.

Check out the SteelSeries Arctis 1 Wireless. i think its under $100, solid positional audio, and comes with a USB-C dongle. Super comfy too. If you can stretch a bit, the Corsair HS80 RGB Wireless is great for around $130 with better soundstage and mic quality

I really like my corsair hs80. Dolby atmos is impressive.

I use a Corsair HS80, when combined with Dolby headphones it gives a decent spacial awareness. The HS80 comes with a Dolby Headphones license.

I have these and I really love the sound quality and the mic. But....they've cracked in half 2x on me. Just putting them on my head. The plastic is really cheap.

I came here to see if someone else was having this problem. Corsair support sent me a new headset and it had the same issue so it's not a hardware issue. For me, whenever there is a lull in sound in a game (goes quiet), the headphones",switch off" until their is sound again, but there is a delay in that sound so you miss the first second or so. Sounds minor, but it's quite frustrating when a cut scene starts and you miss the first word .. but happens all the time, and Corsair has no idea why. It could be a windows issue, but then why does it happen only with this headset. Who knows

Until yesterday evening I would have recommended the Corsair HS80. Then the usbc port disapeard inside the earpiece and everything on this Headset is clued including the leather earcusions. It was super comfortable, no sweat, lightweight and solide connection wireless and cablebond. But no way to repair this thing.

Hello folks. I am looking for a wireless headset (preferably with both bluetooth and the dongle bc the dongle sometimes interferes with my wifi) I’ve been on a laptop and the sheer amount of times my wired headphones got dangled on my chair and i had close calls with bringing my entire setup to the ground bc of it while trying to get up is insane. I am looking for a good microphone that sounds good and WILL NOT pick up my game or youtube audio (looking at you my old steelseries arctis 3). Due to tax differences in my country i cant type my budget here but it is around the price setting of Steelseries Arctis Nova 5, Corsair HS80 and Razer Blackshark v2 Pro (2024). So you could check how much they cost for u and base it on that if you could please. I tried the HS80 and it simply had my game sounds muffled for some reason and every source i tried didnt fix it so i ended up returning it so now i got nothing to use for the time being. Thank you to anyone who could help me out here.

i see. i will keep the hyperX in mind. i wanna get a couple more options before i pick 1. i tried to find turtle beach but ig they dont sell that in turkey. i even noticed black and red option for hyperx is actually lower than my budget too so thats a bonus. as for quality i am not looking for smth godly. for example i really liked the corsair hs80 its just that ig it REALLY hates minecraft bc everything sounded muffled and it was genuienly unplayable I even liked steelseries sound quality i js had issues with the mic of my headset picking up ALL the audio from any media on my pc. I mostly need smth comfy that gets the job done in a decent way. Currently considering the HyperX Cloud 3, SS Arctis nova 5 and Razer Blackshark v2 pro

Ah I missed that detail. If mic quality is truly that important to you, an understandable preference, then you will sacrifice audio quality quite a bit. If you liked your pc363d, then many people still praise the updated drop epos + pc38x. Just check to see if they dont have the flaws you mentioned. I recommend specific gaming headsets because these ones are not slop (neither is the audeze maxwell despite some flaws), but you're not going to find anything with your preferences because it simply doesnt exist right now unless you chip in more cash for that "audiophile stuff + modmic or dedicated mic." That's why nobody has responded to your post, my guy. Sacrifices must be made either with the wallet or your preferences. Now some notable all-rounders I've personally tried are the Corsair HS80, MMX 330, A50X or A50 Gen 5 (both have same tech and hands down the best microphone on a headset rn, but X has hdmi base station and more money). The Fractal Scape is pretty goated for the price, but I haven't heard the microphone yet, check it out. Honestly, if you want a transcending audio experience based on your preference then I recommend the HD 490 Pro (or any audiophile of your choice) with an affordable DAC, and a modmic to easily turn that headphone into a headset. That's a great way to get audiophile quality sound for music and gaming, while getting decent mic quality (subjectively).

The corsair hs80 or something like that, I've had mine for 4 years and literally works perfectly still, super comfortable, great sound, great mic, decent price. The battery life after 4 years has gotten shorter but thats it.. I also game at least 30 hours a week.

cloud 2, truthear zero blue, cloud 3(mic quality phenomenal), corsair hs 80, gprox(too tight for big heads) tried all of them i would say top tier is truthear blue and cloud 3

I love the Corsair HS80’s. Comfortable, decent mic, wireless for when I want to grab a drink while in a lobby or whatever, great battery life, and they work while charging so when they die they’re just wired headphones. No noise isolation sadly. But they are over-ear so they do mute the room a bit.

Imo the mic quality on the corsair hs80 is great but if you have a larger budget you can probably do better.

As far as mic’s go on headsets I believe the best around are either Corsair HS80’s or Razer’s blackshark v2 pro. I only have experience with the blacksharks and can say they’re very comfortable. UNLESS that is you try and wear one ear on, one off. I have to do this a lot with the kids around and they hurt my ears when I did this. I ended up going for a Steelsseries headset which fixes the comfort problem, most likely due to the swivel they have along with light clamping force. The downside to any steel series headset though is the mic quality is shit, and that includes the Arctis pro. That being said, unless you’re streaming or making content using it, your friends will be able to hear you fine

Me and the other half are both rocking corsair hs80’s and so far we can’t fault them. I will say though to be careful about the steelseries. I nearly bought the bf a pair of the nova pro wireless and found out they have a really horrible nubbin on the inner cups and would easily kill your ears :)

I love my corsair hs80. It has amazing audio and mic quality. I suggest using a program named equalizer apo to adjust it to get that perfect sound if you're on pc.

I have HS80 without MAX and they are the best, only program for them is bad it just disappears and then I have to reinstall it.

It disappears from the desktop, a lot of people are complaining about it. U just need to reinstall it.

Every corsair headset I've owned has sounded great, but I found out the mic quality was so bad that I sounded like i was talking through a tin can on a string. I'll stick with my logitech headset. Love my corsair keyboard though. Wish icue would stop self destructing every few months

Check out Corsair HS80 (THE NON-PRO VERSION) it has undeniably the best microphone among all the gaming headsets at any price point. Legit, di ka magsisisisi. I still use it to this day. May drawbacks nga lang like subpar battery life and connectivity pag Machado kang lumayo, pero grabe yung quality ng microphone. If habol mo lang talaga mic, this is the best one talaga.

If it helps, I own xm5 earbuds and tbh whenever I switch to my corsairs, its a nice breath of fresh air. I highly encourage you checked out hardware Canucks on their mic comparisons to see just how good hs80s are. GL sa headphone Hunt op!!

Try looking for the non-max/non-pro version. That version weirdly has worse mic compared sa original and cheaper too lol

What headset then do you suggest? I actually just got the TB Stealth 600 gen 3 last night, also own Corsair HS80, and Steelseries Arctis Nova Pro Wireless The TB is the best out of all those.
