I recently ordered a renewed Corsair Virtuoso XT from Amazon for $124. I'd have never bought it full price, but for this cheap, it was a no brainer. I've never used a headset that comes this close to the full package. The microphone quality blows every other built in mic I've ever used out of the water. You'll obviously get better sound quality out of a standalone microphone and some quality studio headphones, but not everyone has hundreds of dollars to drop for a full setup, and those setups also lack many of the convenience features that attracted me to this headset in the first place (numerous connectivity options and multipoint device connectivity is important for me because I WFH and this headset does double duty as my work headset and used for playing games on both PC and my Switch.) Check out some reviews and see what works for you. The frequency response range is lacking for any audiophile types, but I'm not that picky so to me it sounds better than any other headset I've used over the years.

I’m still using my Corsair Virtuoso XTs and they’re a solid value for the price you can find them for used these days. Swap the ear cushions and they’ll last a good while. Removable mic, optional inline 3.5m connection, USB C connection, 2.4ghz dongle, and separate Bluetooth so you can have your phone audio and notifications at the same time as your other preferred connection to your computer. That’s all the features I could want and the sound is very good. Just make sure you disable the extra setting in Windows sound settings that makes them sound like a giant empty cavern. I never had that feature on before and when I built a new PC recently and paired them with it that was on bye default and it took me forever to figure out what was causing it. It’s the setting right above the one where you can select Dolby Atmos (which these also include for free if that’s your thing, just download the Dolby app and make them your active listening device in windows and it’ll enable the option to turn it on).

Oh I forgot to go look it up, I meant to do so and edit my comment. Yes the other setting is called “Audio Enhancements” and you absolutely want that set to OFF if you are going to use any Spatial Sound settings. For me it was acting crazy even just having that on alone though. No idea what “Device Default Effects” was doing behind the scenes under that enhancement toggle but it was trash.

Hell yea, man. Solid advice. I appreciate it! I have had mine a while but setting up with a new PC I’m starting all over with it basically. I kick myself every day for not picking up the white one I saw at Game Exchange for $50. It’s a damn good headset.

To this day, the closest to studio grade mic, on a headset, that I heard was on the Corsair Virtuoso RGB XT. That one was pretty crazy. Unfortunately the rest of that headset sucked. The Antlion mod mic wireless is really good, also, along with the Blackshark V2. But yeah, you can do better with one of those $60 Sno ball mics.

I originally had a st of virtuoso xt rgb had them for nearly 2 years before they developed a fault. Which were replaced via warranty virtuoso max silver. Personal I consider virtuoso a massive improvement in comfort over the xt the headband is a bit bigger and the ear cups despite still being round are slightly bigger and it makes a big difference. The clamping force has been increased, so headset dosent slip, & i dosent feel uncomfortable. The Bluetooth sound has been massive improvement with anc working nice haven't been able to. Try wifi as my pc is down. So far very pleased. It's a bit bigger but headset is better for it

At the time, it was just a handy use case scenario. The wireless headset i was using was a Corsair Virtuoso XT. It came with a 3.5 mm jack and I would use that connection to my Steam deck while at work. The 2.4 GHz worked great on my PC and I could take calls with the Bluetooth on my phone. One of the reasons I returned the Nova Pro Wireless was because the moment you plug the 3.5 into the headset, it powers off all wireless options.

Seems sucky, like why have that threshold. Corsair seems to have it down. I got all three working with it.

Im a corsair guy for sure. I own the XT RGB with wicked cush and have mained them for a couple years. Haha not like i had another pair or anything. Anyway i just picked up the Virtouso Max on 1/25. Updated firmware and im fairy Tech savy. Amazing sound over the XTs once i played around with dobly and sound ID. Truely fantastic. I have a big head and I do notice clamping force on my head but it fits will. ANC is crazy. I didnt think i would need it but damn its goodtransparancy mode is good not amazing. I have zero sleep to wake volume issues Side tone works barely <---- frankly worthless also trans mode is not a work aroundMic is good just like XT

I have gone through all the premium/best-reviewed ones and the Corsair Virtuoso is the best overall in my experience. I didn't like the weird headband on the Steel Series Arctic line. For me it was not comfortable at all. I had a previous version of the Arctis with the little dock and hot-swap batteries, and I LOVED that battery switch feature.

Never buy a Razer headset. I have the Corsair Virtuoso and it’s been great for me. Wireless but an insane battery life, really good, detachable microphone. Fairly comfortable but not the most, sometimes have to adjust the ear pads.

OW subreddit isn’t the best resource for this, YouTube and review sites are. I think, imo, $200 is a better budget for a high end headset, and even then you can get something that’s quality between $100-$200. My own anecdotal experience, my Corsair Virtuoso have been solid for the last 4 years. My brother recently got Astro A30s and he likes them but he paid the premium for them for their ability to easily switch between console and PC. Both headsets go on sale often, as they have been out for a while now, so I wouldn’t buy either at full price. HyperX, also, has some good headsets but I’d look at reviews of the specific headset you’re interested in.

I'm replacing my virtuouso with the nova. The v's cups are too small for my ears and the headband fatigues my skull, they are super heavy aswell. I did like the build quality and the detachable mic though. Battery has been dieing much quicker after a year but that could be my fault.

iCue constantly explodes, requiring a reinstall to fix, and the settings you put on the headset REQUIRE iCue to reapply every time the headset connects. I have the Virtuoso, and I HATE the green "not muted" light, and I hate the lack of control over which voice prompts they use. The cups degraded to shreds in under 2 years, the plastic holding one cup broke from an accidental drop onto the desk. The volume wheel has a mind of its own, can adjust system volume randomly, and may or may not skyrocket to 0 or 100% on its own. Needless to say, I have regrets, hence why I'm on this forum looking for alternatives

I should clarify, \*SOME\* options revert to factory. There are two ways for me to turn off the logo lighting, turning the color to black, and setting the brightness to zero. If I set it to black, it will restore its color when not running iCue, if I set brightness to zero, it holds that setting. The same cannot be said of the "enable green light while active" setting. There is seemingly no way to turn that green light off without having iCue running.

I was told to go back to Corsair Virtuoso headset because Maxwell mic sucked so bad. I disagree. And if I have to spend MORE money on a pricey headset to make it work well, then it has shit value

These are great, but with the right EQ settings, the Corsair Virtuoso easily outclasses them. Of course, that comes at a steep premium.

The mic quality on the virtuoso is on a whole other level compared to other headsets in the same price range, goes from muddy to crisp and crystal clear with the virtuoso I will say my only complaint at the beginning was the comfort, it felt a bit too tight on my head but maybe that's just me
