I can't seem to find a wireless gaming headset that will actually fit a large head. My head is average width, but it's tall and I have large ears. I use Sennheiser EPOS GSP 500s which fit my head and have big enough cups, but they're wired, obviously. I looked at EPOS' wireless offerings but they all have bad reviews due to reliability problems I've tried on everything that they have on display at Best Buy and Walmart, and they're all too small, or the ear cups press on my ears. Turtle Beach, Razor, Corsair, etc. The Razor BlackShark V2 Pro look like they would be big enough, but they make you look like a military helicopter pilot. What I care about: * Aesthetics: I don't want to look like a military helicopter pilot * Microphone: It should have a decent one * Sound quality: I'm not an audiophile, but I don't want it to sound like I'm wearing tin cans either. * Large ear cups: I wear headphones for long stretches, so I don't want any ear pressure. Over-ear, not on-ear. * Open back is nice to have, but not critical * Reliable Thanks for your help
Answering my own post here. I ended up picking up the Fractal-Design Scape wireless headset. So far, I love it! The Good: - Handsome design - Brilliant charging base - 10/10 sound quality - Mic has raise to mute - Mic is removable - Mic tells you when it mutes, even on raise. Good for peace of mind. - Has large ear cups that fit over my ears. - RGB is understated and can be turned off. - More comfortable than the GSP 500s (doesnt press down hard on the top of my head) Gripes: - Ear cups are not quite as deep as on the GSP 500s (the outside of my ear touches the speakers lightly on the Scapes), but they haven’t caused me any pain. - No transparent mode. This is only found on ANC headphones afaik, but coming from open-back I miss the ability to hear people trying to talk to me if I choose. TL;DR Fractal-Design Scape is the headset I’ve wished existed for 10 years. Randomly it dropped right as I was looking again in 2025. Buy it.
