Razer headsets used to really suck but they've has actually stepped up their headset game A LOT in the past year or so (just as they have with mice and keyboards over the past few years). I have essentially all the top wireless gaming headsets (as well as a couple expensive wired audiophile headsets), and the Razer BlackShark V3 Pro is currently my go-to headset for more competitive gaming sessions. I easily prefer them over my Steel Series Arctis Pro. The only wireless gaming headset with noticeably better sound quality than the BF V3s are the Audeze Maxwell's but their imaging (directional audio), mic, latency and QOL features are worse than the BF V3's so I really only use the Maxwell when playing casual games where I want jam out to tunes while playing. IMO, the best wireless gaming (w/ mic) headsets right now are the Maxwells, A50, and BF V3 Pro. You can't really go wrong with any but what you consider to be the best will vary from person to person depending on use cases.
Razer’s old headsets sucked and were very gimmicky but Razer’s new BlackShark V3 pros are actually some of the best wireless gaming headsets with a mic on the market right now. Pretty much all the audio/tech review sites that actually scientifically test this stuff (frequency range/accuracy, imaging, stereo mismatch, distortion, latency, mic quality, etc) , like Rtings/etc, have the V3 Pros as one of the top headsets out. As someone who has a couple $1000+ audiophile headsets and most the top wireless gaming headsets like (Arctis Nova Pro, Sennheiser GSP670, A50, and Audeze Maxwell), the BlackShark V3 Pro’s are my go-to headset for competitive games as it has solid sound quality, the lowest latency, and some of the best imaging and QOL features out of these other headset. Sure my my expensive audiophile headsets “technically” have better sound quality and it is noticeable for music but much less so during normal in-game audio. Plus, audiophile headsets usually have very neutral EQ which means they aren’t very immersive or good at highlighting footsteps relative to higher end gaming headset. Mostly though, I just like to get up, walk around, and get stuff done while gaming with friends or hanging out on discord and it’s annoying AF to constantly have to take off my headset and not hear what going on or be able to talk back anytime I want to step away from my PC for a sec.
I had that headset for a minute before grabbing a GSP 670. I paid around $300 (!!!) 5 years ago, and they still work wonderfully. Great bass, mic, and build quality. Now they're around $80 new, on ebay
I love my A50's, especially because they're white. But one annoying feature is the volume wheel location. It always rubs against my hoodie and decreases the volume lol! I would say they're among the best headset I've owned, the GSP 601 and 670 were my favourite, and the PC38X was awesome for summer. Such a shame they're all discontinued.
Same. Although the mic on my 670 eventually failed but Amazon gave me my money back and I bought the same again as its price had gone down to half at that time. Super comfy, I consider the sound better than even its 600S/660 dedicated headphones (I'm a Stax fan when it comes to listening to music).
I tried epos 670 month ago. Now in trash. Dont recommend. Sound quality not good. No technical support at all. I tried uncounted amount " gaming headphones" for 30 years. It is just marketing. Just buy not gaming headphones + mic. If can be open back then akg-612 pro. Very wide soundstage. Real comfort and good sound for money..
YMMV but I hate my Sennheiser EPOS GSP 670 headset. The sound quality is good, yes, but everything else is bad. Bad battery life, bad software (seriously it barely functions), constant (multiple times daily) drop outs requiring power cycling the headset to reconnect, ear cups are quickly deteriorating after 18 months, generally cheap-feeling construction. Would never buy again.
I got me a Sennheiser GSP 670. It has wireless over dongle, Bluetooth (for phone use) and wired use. It has 2.0 and 7.1, and generally lasts me 17 hrs of gaming in 7.1 No complaints other than the device name changes when plugging in to charge (takes ~45-60 min), and changes from 7.1 to 2.0 sometimes. May be a skill issue. I also have a big head, and it fits me quite nicely. It has a boom mic, but I use proper mic.
The only quality "gaming" headphones I've ever used were the Sennheiser GSP 670. Wireless, digital surround, superb build quality and sound 90 quid on ebay (almost 300 new lol) If these broke and I could never find another pair I'd go back to studio Sennheisers. I still own every pair of theirs that I've ever bought and they all still work flawlessly, one set is almost 20 years old!
