Personally I went for hd6xx (really great but open) then went for Epos H6pro to have a close one.

Use the Epos H6Pro as well but the closed ones. Awesome headset for gaming and music.

I have the Sennheiser HD560s and absolutely love them for gaming and music. I also tried the open back Epos H6Pro which are great but ended up keeping the closed back version in the end. But these are the two headphones I use for gaming: Sennheiser HD560s for single player games and Epos H6Pro for multiplayer games or when I want the "isolated" feel of the closed back.

EPOS Audio H6PRO Closed Acoustic Gaming Headset I still have the A50's and use them once in a while, but the EPOS is amazing and looks more standard than "gaming"

I got the h6 pros closed back that look exactly like this on sale. I think it was a mistake after reading all the reviews. They're comfortable and robust. But they're just not the best sounding hs. These might be very diff and at 40 bucks here it's worth it to those who need something

You want a clear sounding headset with good bass and a really good mic? Go with Epos H3 or H6. These will do the trick, H6 will overall have a more enjoyable music listening experience and better premium feel/fit but both will be great for what you’re asking.

The Drop EPOS PC38X is still arguably one of the best gaming headsets you can buy. I also like the EPOS H6Pro series.

EPOS H6Pros are rather good. They're owned by Sennheiser and have both open and closed acoustic versions. They're about as good as you'll get until you get into studio-grade headphones.

So - I own a lot of headphones and headsets. Good, open-back headphones (if you're OK with some noise leak) are your best bet as others have mentioned from Sennheiser, Beyer, etc. With that said, a pair of EPOS H6Pros are quite decent as a pair of "gaming" headsets in your budget.

I recently got the H6pro headset from EPOS, Sennheiser's gaming line. I'm pretty happy with them. They are wired and didn't come with a case but other than that they have been nice. They come in open or closed back. I got the open back version so they will be more comfortable long term and the sound will be more accurate.

Sony xm5. It is universally accepted for sounding great. For work, music and phone calls, you can use Bluetooth. A bonus is that it has multipoint connection so the headphones are connected to my phone and my laptop. For gaming, I have an Xbox so I use a wired connection. If we are talking wired headsets, I have used the Razer black shark v2x and the epos H6pro. Both sound great for calls, gaming and music. And they have good mics. Some days I use my Microsoft Xbox wireless headset for everything as well. With an EQ, it sounds pretty good too.

Senheiser H6Pro has been phenomenal for me. I’ve had Turtle Beach and Astro both fail on me in <6 months, can’t really attest for Steel Series or Razor but I can say Senheiser quality really stands out over anything I’ve looked at

h6 pros are nice, with eq can be considered on par if not better than pc38x, while being much more comfortable (closed version stock pads, or open version with jerzee pads)

I had the hyper x cloud wireless and the steel series arctis pro wireless. Hyper x cloud sounded trash and broke very easily, arctis pro wireless sounded great but the dock station and batteries kept breaking I had to use them with a wire sometimes.. then after like 6 months they cracked after I dropped them and I could no longer use em. Can’t recommend any of them at all. Have been using the wired Epos H6PRO and they have been Amazing, great sound, great durability. I dropped them so many times by yanking them with a chair by the cable, good as new after 3 years

I’ve been waiting for the PC38Xs to drop back down to ~$120 on Amazon, which according to the camel they do a lot. While waiting, I read a lot about the Epos H6Pros, which I picked up for ~$80. I like these a lot, but still want to try the 38Xs.

If you are going wired I'd try and snatch a deal on some H6Pros while they are still available. The Beyerdynamic MMX300 gen 2s are awesome as well if you can get them under $200. They are pretty much some DT770s with a built in mic and tuned slightly different. For wireless under $200 suprisingly the Pulse Elites are awesome. I still use my Nova Pro Wireless but reach for the Pulse Elites often and they are much cheaper.
