I have a HyperX Cloud Alpha for a headset but for the mic, I use a HyperX Quadcast paired with a boom arm. I sound loud and clear according to my friends.
r/buildapc β’ What is the best gaming headset ( 120$ ) ->I have the alphas right now and they seriously are awful for gaming. They donβt even come with virtual surround unless you buy the usb sound card separately from hyperx. Anyways, how much of a difference did you find between the alphas and the iems you tested?
r/iems β’ IEM vs Headset for Gaming Review (HD58X, Truthear Zero, HyperX Alpha, 7Hz Zero, Wan'er, Chu 2) ->I don't have a huge head, but I wear glasses and for my Xbox I use a set of HyperX Cloud Alpha and since I got them in 2020 they are comfortable with glasses on for long term use.
r/WFH β’ Plantronics hurt my ears, which headset should I get? I have a big head and wear glasses. ->Cheaper and with attached mic hyper cloud alpha, open, little bit more expensive and no mic hd 58x
r/BuyItForLife β’ Best Headset for Gaming? ->I really liked the HyperX ones. UNTIL THEY BROKE!!! The plastic on the side shattered just by normal usage, now the right ear cup won't go back into the housing. Very unfortunate.
r/HeadphoneAdvice β’ Best wireless headset for gaming currently? ->I use gaming headphones. If you want something cheap that works, the Somic G951S gaming headset is great. The HyperX Cloud Alpha, Logitech - Astro A50 X Lightspeed are other more expensive headsets that are worth the money.
r/PUBG β’ Gaming headset ->Easy choice. Hyper-X Cloud Alpha. Best headset Iβve ever owned.
r/PlaystationPortal β’ What is the best wireless headset for the ps5. ->I have these, but find the 3d audio straight up doesn't work
r/PlaystationPortal β’ What is the best wireless headset for the ps5. ->I love my cloud alpha s, but I've been struggling to get replacement ear cups from amazon. I've been sent several wrong sizes and every page says they are compatible with my headset...
r/PlaystationPortal β’ What is the best wireless headset for the ps5. ->I currently use a hyperx cloud alpha for work. I really like it, it's comfortable, decent sound quality, insane battery life (can go weeks without charge), and the 2.4 ghz wireless range lets me walk around the entire house without losing connection. But the one downside is there isn't any multi-device support, so I need a separate headset for my gaming PC. I've actually been thinking about getting the steelseries headset you mentioned for exactly this reason lol
r/WFH β’ Best headset for working from home, gaming , music and general headphone use ->I use HyperX Cloud Alpha - they last over 100 hours on a single charge, so with my usage I need to charge them once in 3 weeks. Sometimes even longer
r/iRacing β’ I've reached my snapping point - I need headphone recommendations ->I had the same things happen with some budget Bluetooth headphones from Amazon. They ended up falling apart after a couple years (not bad for $40β¦) and I bought a HyperX wired set https://ca.hyperx.com/collections/gaming-headsets/products/hyperx-cloud-alpha?variant=41134999535776. Have enjoyed it since. Not sure about the PS5 side though. It has a very long cable extender and Iβm able to work at my desk and walk over to the rig with it plugged into one spot. Might meet what youβre looking for?
r/iRacing β’ I've reached my snapping point - I need headphone recommendations ->I really like the sound of my wired Cloud Alpha. It's on par with my Corsair HS70 Pro. Edit: I meant wired
r/HyperX β’ Best HyperX headset? ->I meant wired, didn't test the wireless oneΒ
r/HyperX β’ Best HyperX headset? ->Well, i have had for the last 6 years, or 7, the HyperX Cloud Alphas. Wired headphones, but barely last year, my ear pads went bad and my mic is kind of less audible, however i found pads to be easily changeable, in my country a set of pads is like idk, 10$, or 8β¬ something like that, and i found an unused mic, for like 15$. Extremely comfortable, my ears were never hurting, unless the pads go all squishy and bad. They are a bit on the heavy side, but i have dropped and kicked and yanked them out a few times over the years and all i can say is my previous table got chipped by these headphones. Sound wise, they are good. Works well for music but they shine in gaming. Very clear position of sound and i found myself turning my head in CSGO purely based on sound, so i guess they are accurate. Only problem i am facing currently, but i think it's more a windows problem, is that at max quality on 32 bit, i get earraped, but there is no noticeable difference between 32 bit 192k and 32 bit 174k. For this specific headset i'd give it a 9/10.
r/buildapc β’ Best PC gaming headset? ->This is the answer. Plus the battery lasts an obscene amount of time. I use mine 2-3 hours per night and I think I charge them...twice per year? It's unbelievable.
r/buildapc β’ What would be the best wireless gaming headset money can buy? ->For sure, I notice the range issues too. I haven't had to tune them much but maybe will look into that. I usually use a set of monitors now, but if the baby's sleeping or I need to be quiet the alphas have been perfect for me.
r/buildapc β’ What would be the best wireless gaming headset money can buy? ->I use mine like 12 hours a day and I charge them like every 8 weeks or so. When I got my alphas the sound was terrible but with some research I found how I could tune them to sound amazing. If you like to walk around the house with your headset on then I must admit that the alphas have pretty bad range.
r/buildapc β’ What would be the best wireless gaming headset money can buy? ->just find the Β«oratory1990Β» subreddit, find your headset, and tune it like shown in a viable software and itβs most likely going to sound much better than before
r/buildapc β’ What would be the best wireless gaming headset money can buy? ->The Hyper X cloud 3s or alpha have consistently been solid choices
r/buildapc β’ What's the Best Wireless Gaming Headset in Your Opinion? ->Ya I tried the beyers 770 and sennheisers 560s and didnβt like them compared to my hyperx cloud alphas. They are great.
r/pcmasterrace β’ I analyzed the 25 most recommended gaming headsets on reddit ->Been rocking the HyperX cloud Alpha wired for like 4 years now, so happy with them! Before them i had some 60$ razer headphones that fell apart (typical razer product that isn't a keyboard)
r/pcmasterrace β’ I analyzed the 25 most recommended gaming headsets on reddit ->Hyper x cloud Alpha are gosted. Had them for 5 years now and they've never hurt my head or ears, and no noticeable dip in audio quality
r/pcmasterrace β’ I analyzed the 25 most recommended gaming headsets on reddit ->Cloud alpha, especially when Β£50 on Amazon
r/HeadphoneAdvice β’ Which one of these Gaming Headphone is the best? ->I would avoid Arctis Nova, as other people already said they don't last very long, go for HyperX-Cloud-Alpha, the metal beam is not going to break on you and they sound great!
r/gamingpc β’ Best pc gaming headset ->Isn't HyperX gone to shite since they have been takimg over? I have a pair of blue Cloud Alpha S and I was looking to change them since I have them since 2019. I was reluctant to do that just because ppl were complaining about the product quality that has chaned sine the company was taken over by HP from Kingston. Any recommendations, please?
r/gamingpc β’ Best pc gaming headset ->I have these as well, I'm no audiophile, but they're pretty good. Mic quality is completely okay for gaming as well, never had any of my buddies complain about my mic quality.
r/pcmasterrace β’ Hello, what headset do you recommend to play fps? ->It depends. Open-back headphones with a vmoda boom mic are good for Audiophiles. However they also have some cons like significant audio bleed, they're somewhere between closed-back and speakers. Good brands that are recommended a lot are Phillips, Sony, Audio Technica, Sennheiser and Beyerdynamic. However, closed-back headsets can be just as good if you aren't really an audiophile and don't care too much about pitch-perfect accuracy. Plus there's a few cheaper decent options even with the "gamer" branding. Good brands here are a little more difficult, it's best to recommend good headsets rather than good brands. With that said, here are a few recommendations that I've been looking at myself: * HyperX Cloud Alpha - sturdy build, decent sound, a good mic, only problem is "leather" flaking off but that happens with most headsets/headphones. The most budget friendly option IMO. * Corsair HS80 - decent build, good sound, very good mic, fabric so less prone to flaking/peeling. Decently cheap too. * Steelseries Arctis Nova 7 - good build, good sound, so-so mic, comfortable headband and fabric so less prone to flaking/peeling. A little more expensive but not breaking the bank. I personally prefer wired headsets and I'm not an Audiophile. HyperX Cloud Alphas served me well for years now, but I am looking to get a pair of Corsair HS80's later this year.
r/XboxSeriesX β’ What Headsets Should I Avoid ->I like the cloud alphas, Im guessing they don't make them anymore?
r/pcmasterrace β’ I analyzed the 25 most recommended gaming headsets on reddit ->Love hyper x cloud alpha. I find the dual drivers sound way better than Steel artis i returned a pair of arctis for that reason, music sounded meh, and then hyper x surprised me.
r/pcmasterrace β’ I analyzed the 25 most recommended gaming headsets on reddit ->I brought my first pair of cloud alphas back to life with wicked cushions replacements on amazon as well. So I have 2 pairs again. When your ear cups wear out, highly recommend them. Didn't affect the sound at all, and they are super comfy.
r/pcmasterrace β’ I analyzed the 25 most recommended gaming headsets on reddit ->I bought the HyperX Cloud Alpha S years ago and itβs very comfortable, although sound quality isnβt the best. Iβd still rather use my Bose QC headphones over it.
r/pcmasterrace β’ I analyzed the 25 most recommended gaming headsets on reddit ->I assuming that you are not looking for an high end headphone. You can't go wrong with the HyperX Cloud Alpha as you mentioned. It's been overall known for its price and good sound. If he don't mind open back headphone, I would go for the Sennheiser PC38X (on drop.com), it got an attached mic on it. If he want into entry audiophile level + gaming then I would go for Sennheiser HD560s. For closed back headphone I would go for SteelSeries Arctis Nova 7 Wireless or the HyperX as you mentioned and lastly on higher price bracket you have the Audeze Maxwell.
r/HeadphoneAdvice β’ gaming headset for my boyfriend!! ->Yeah I ended up getting a mic on a boom arm because that was what keeps failing on a lot of my headsets (rest in piss hyperx cloud alpha) so instead of buying a new headset I ended up just ditching the mic and getting a standalone one, which gives me lots of flexibility for future audio
r/pcmasterrace β’ Hello, what headset do you recommend to play fps? ->HyperX cloud alpha with a Astro tr mixamp. Iβve been using the same headphones for about 6 years
r/PUBGConsole β’ What headphones are yaβll using to hear those footsteps? ->I agree with this. I use hyperx cloud alphas. They are normally 99 but can catch them on sale for about 75 most of the time and they last roughly 2 years. I always have a brand new pair sitting in my closet cause I just order an extra when I catch them on sale.
r/PUBGConsole β’ What headphones are yaβll using to hear those footsteps? ->Eh it's not that crazy. The only issue is the wire connection starts to act up. They still work. But you can't buy just the wire either so you replace the whole thing. Honestly for good headphones that are comfortable and last 2 years I feel like 75 isn't really that bad.
r/PUBGConsole β’ What headphones are yaβll using to hear those footsteps? ->Oh for sure. Find what's comfortable for you and go with it. It's just the cable that wears out on it though. I'm sure there are better ones out there but for me they do the job.
r/PUBGConsole β’ What headphones are yaβll using to hear those footsteps? ->hyperx cloud alpha, good sound quality(compared to other gaming headphones), well balanced tuning with slight bass boost, very good mic, comfortable for long sessions, extra points for being well built
r/HeadphoneAdvice β’ What is The Best Gaming Headphones in 2025? ->Not sure who is downvoting me, but I went from a HyperX Cloud Alpha to a Beyerdynamic DT770 and it was literally night and day. Most gaming headphones are overpriced junk with horrible tuning.
r/PUBATTLEGROUNDS β’ Headphone to Gaming ->This is the answer. After years of disappointment and breakdowns from steel series, JBLs, turtle beach, Logitech, I got a pair of hyperx cloud II as a gift and have never bought a different brand since. The sound, comfort and build quality is top notch, and the battery life on my newest cloud alphas is amazing. I'm not shit out of luck if I forget to charge them for a day.
r/buildapc β’ Best Wireless Gaming Headset Worth Buying Today ->Maybe the Fifine H8? Its below 50. I had the Hyper X Cloud Alpha, until it broke from my dog chewing on the mic. Was going to buy that one, but opted-in for IEMs for convenience, since I wear glasses and for the particular sound design I preferred.
r/buildapc β’ Best gaming headset with a budget of 50 dollars? ->I'm back in gaming, and to find out, once and for all, I bought all these devices at the same time to test, this is what I found. The graph above is related ONLY to the around 360ΒΊ imaging accuracy, the vertical and depth you can see it below. The HD58X and Truthear Zero are the pinnacle of the around imaging accuracy, between the two, the Truthear Zero is a hair above, because the sound is more forward, more about this later. The 7Hz Salnotes Zero comes close in second, but the more broad precision makes so when turn 180ΒΊ to shoot most of the time you miss the spot to slight right or left, so you have to spend a few microseconds to fix your aim, resulting in a significant higher response time compare to the other two. All the others I don't think are suitable for competitive shooting games, but some are suitable for casual and adventure games. INDIVIDUAL Reviews (Remember that my DAC has more bass and less treble as sound signature, if you're going to copy my EQ keep that in mind and make the necessary adjustments) ## Truthear x Crinacle Zero (Blue) ## This is my favorite and the only one I use for gaming*. It has all I ever wish. It's the only IEM that the sound doesn't feel inside your head, on a blind test I would think this is a Closed Back Headset. The only aspect the HD58X does better is depth imaging, but I prefer the forwardness of the sound of the Zero Blue over the HD58X, more about this on the HD58X review below. Out of the box the default EQ has a claustrophobic sense of space, it's very narrow, yet you still receive audio cues from outside your sense of space, making the depth imaging very strange, confusing, and breaking your immersion. That's what people usually refers as "unnatural sound stage" when talking about this IEM for games. After a few days, I realized the sense of space it's nothing more than constant feedback of sounds around you, for example, with very minuscule sound close to you, when you hear enemy you unconsciously compare the sound of the enemy with this sound, and gets the feeling of his distance based on the distance of this small sound close to you. By boosting the frequencies, I have all the small sounds of the environment, to unconsciously build a sense of space, by doing this IEM jumped from B grade to S grade, it amplified the sense of space, and now matches and improves the depth imaging. But EQ this guy was not easy, this IEM has 2 drives, one exclusive to bass, and you feel it, no matter what is happening the bass is strong and steady, to the point it was eating all the other frequencies. As always, I tried every single ParemetricEQ Profile available on AutoEQ, but I think they just destroyed the quality of the sound it has originally. So, as suggested by Crinacle, I created a ParemetricEQ to turn the Blue version in the Red Version, and it worked, it sounds much better, then I just had to boost individual frequencies to get ideal for gaming. For music, I disable this boost. The only precaution you need to have with IEM is related to its huge nozzle, with other all IEMs I use the large tip, but with this I had to back down to the medium, I also have to make sure I'm using it straight and parallel, or the nozzle will hurt. *(it has only one scenario that would make choose HD58X over this, you can see it on the review below) ## Sennheiser HD 58X ## Another very good for gaming, and the most comfortable headset I ever used, but I still prefer the freshness of the IEMs. I don't know if it is because it's an open back headset, but I feel the sound it's not forward enough, initially even appeared muffled, but after boosting all frequencies as much as could, without interfering with the pristine sound quality it has, it got better, but it's still not in a level I would like. Those are the two reasons why I replaced it with the Zero for gaming when I'm playing single player games. The only reason I would choose this over the Zero is because it is the only device that doesn't interfere how you listen to your own voice, when you talk is like you are wearing nothing, it's useful for multiplayer, recording and streaming. ## 7Hz Salnotes Zero ## A very good all around IEM, its only flaw is its poor depth imaging, there is just close or far, nothing in between, surprising it's still able to give you an illusion of space around you. The around and vertical imaging it's not pinpoint, but it's good enough for casual play. It's my favorite for watching anime and movies, to this kind of media I prefer the closer / inside your head type of sound, so I can hear all details equally. It also has the best noise isolation by far, I can't barely hear stuff even with no sound playing. For being versatile, cheap and for having an excellent noise isolation, it would be one I would choose for commute and travel. ## TANGZU Wan'er S.G ## The brightest of all devices, it reproduces details on treble that no other does. But the downside is that get you tired really fast. On music, it has this huge sound stage (it feels a little artificial, like an echo effect), way bigger than the HD58X that is an Open Back Headset. In games, this translates to a huge sense of space. Unfortunately, the poor imaging makes it unsuitable for games. ## HyperX Cloud Alpha ## An $80 disappointment, it sounds good enough, but it has a poor imaging, making it unsuitable for gaming. Yes, a gaming headset that is not suitable for gaming. Because of the shape of my head, I can use for 1 hour max, before the pain on the top of my head becomes unbearable. The only positive side it that the sound is not inside your head (like HD58X and Truthear Zero). ## Moondrop Chu 2 ## It's with pain in my heart I have to give it an C. It has the best sound, especially bass, for gaming of the $20 IEMs (it sacrifices treble, but it is not noticeable in games just in music), but it's poor in imaging. The imaging is so poor that you can only know the side (like north, south) but there is none in precision, to the point I had to look if I connected the cable right. OUTRO And that is it. I bought all devices with my own money. I wish to test the SIMGOT EM6L, because if two drivers can do this, imagine 5. But being fully satisfied with the Truthear Zero, I see no reason to buy one. Specially by the fact that is a stupid rule of 92% tax on products over US$ 50 in my country. But if Linsoul send me one, I would pay the tax and gladly review it. So if you like this post, sent it to them and asks if they can send me one. If you have other IEMs worth up to US$50 you would like me to take a look at, let me know below. r/iems β’ IEM vs Headset for Gaming Review (HD58X, Truthear Zero, HyperX Alpha, 7Hz Zero, Wan'er, Chu 2) ->HyperX Cloud Alpha. I love those things. I'm sure there's better out there but the price and quality has made me love HyperX.
r/buildapc β’ Best PC gaming headset ?? ->If you're after comfort the hyperx cloud alphas are great.
r/buildapc β’ What would be the best wireless gaming headset money can buy? ->For 200USD, with high isolation preferred, your options are relatively limited. I used to be a very firm closed-back only user. Skip the first chunk of text if you want actual recs I can't recommend *any* closed back, wired headsets. You're better off buying a separate microphone - Modmic is the most common for a true headset-like solution, but *I don't recommend that either* when you can buy an AT2005USB or ATR2100X-USB and a mic stand for less. In fact, your HyperX Cloud Alphas are arguably the best closed back wired headset in this price range. Popular picks include the new Fiio FT-1, the older AKG K361/K371, and the venerable Beyerdynamic DT770. When it comes to DT-770 variants, problems quickly arise - The DT770 with the black pleather earpads, the 770-M, has the best isolation, better than the other headphones on this list, but have *absolutely garbage bloated mid bass* with very little sub bass rumble for most people. When people talk about the DT770 they're referring to the standard DT770-32 or DT770-80 which have velour earpads. These pads are cheap, relatively soft, but provide not that much isolation... you would be better off with a different set of headphones. Oh, and one other thing... no detachable cable. You're stuck with the really heavy and long stock cable until it gives out. The Fiio FT-1 is by far the most *quality-sounding* piece of gear on the list, especially if you like bass, but the problem is that it's a bass ported set. You won't have perfect isolation, but in exchange the bass sounds great (according to other people - I haven't tried it myself.) It also comes with hybrid earpads, which is good for *comfort* but bad for *isolation*. The K361/K371 isn't without problems either. They have poor durability, it's just a poorly designed chassis. The hinges usually give out quickly. The isolation is also average at best for a closed back, and the bass is also "just okay". I wouldn't recommend these for metal because guitars sound really off unless you use something like AutoEQ's profiles, which have their own problems like really messing up the treble by default (you have to change this manually). "So, RZ, what the hell should I buy?" I got you. There are three options. The first is still the Fiio FT-1, because comfort is king over all else. It fits a wide variety of head sizes and doesn't have excessive clamping force according to most users. The second, is the Shure SRH-440A, which is a non-ported design with pleather earpads, however I have heard it can hurt the top of your head (I haven't experienced this personally). The third option, if you're comfortable with a fixed cable, would be the old MDR-7506 with Yaxi STPad2. At least it isolates better and has cleaner bass than the normal DT770... and it's not awfully expensive. Feel free to ask questions.
r/HeadphoneAdvice β’ What closed ear headset should I get for gaming/metal music? ->I play competetively A LOT, but I also watch movie or listen to music. I love movies and TV series. I've tried lots of gaming headphones like Cloud Alpha or II, Blackshark v2 pro, Logitech G Pro X and so on... They all died within 3 years. Either one of the side went deaf or the headphone itself broke and I must tell you... I always looked after them like my own pair of eyes. (FYI, the Blackshark v2 pro broke at the hinge just right after warranty expired). Anyway, I was fed up with the atrocious build quality and altogether the headphones audio quality as well. Not to say, the mic's quality was always pretty bad. I went into hunting for one and many people recommended me DT 770 Pro by Beyersdynamic. Some people came out and told me to wait for the Pro X as it has a detechable cable (althought the 770 Pro cable's fine as well, they are not like shitty gaming headphones cable at all. Beyersdynamic headphones last for a decade on average). Also, it has an added design, a new driver, less clamp force therefore more comfortable, the headband is better and so on. Anyway, both headphones are really really good as I've had the chance to try a dt 770 pro recently. Anyway, when it came out, I've bought the dt 770 pro x and when I've first listened to it... My jaw was dropped... The audio quality is far superior to gaming headphones. The comfort was really really good, even compared to blackshark v2 pro, it's far better. The cable and the headphone itself has also far more superior quality than a gaming headphone and as I've said, these headphones last 10 years on average. That's huge. You do the math. You buy a 3-4 headphones within 10 years at best. They have shitty quality and they will die for sure. Or... You actually buy a great headphones with really... really good sound quality and comfort which will last for a very long time. It's up to you. Also, very important... If a gaming headphone dies, you cannot buy parts for it to repair it. But for any beyerdynamic headphones, you can buy any parts if it dies so you can replace it and fix it.
r/buildapc β’ Why is it that gamers recommend different headphones to audiophiles or music listeners? ->You should ask this in the headphones group. I was like you for a long time and have tried lots of headphones including the hyperx cloud alpha or cloud II (before the company was sold), the blackshark v2 pro, logitech g pro x and g935. Anyway, the hyperx cloud alpha electrocuted me multiple times, it's a huge health and QC issue which is known if you google it. I got my money back from the store I've bought under warranty. They found the same issue with the headphone. I didn't have a rug under me or anything. Cloud II's left sound went dead after 2.5 years of use. My blackshark v2 pro broke at the hinge just after the warranty expired. The logitech g pro x was just bad sound quality and mic quality for me and sold it. The g935 lasted for the longest time for 5 years but the mic and sound quality was bad. Many people recommended me to just use studio headphones and buy an external mic. So that's what I did. I researched what to buy first and some guys said to wait a couple of months until the new DT 770 PRO X Limited Edition comes out from Beyerdynamic. My jaw was dropped... The sound quality is just a whole different level. It's just so good compared to a gaming headphones... The build quality is superior, the clamp force is much lower than my blackshark v2 pro was and it's way more comfortable. I'm tall and have big head and ears so it was a worry for me if my ear fits or if it's going to fit my head but no worries, it fits perfectly. I cannot recommend enough a studio headphone for anyone who wants more build quality, audio quality, comfort and more importantly, more usage. It's known that a DT 770 Pro in general lasts for a decade, I'm sure the DT 770 Pro X LE is just the same. There's no gaming headphones that last as long as this. Sennheiser and Audio Technica also has good studio headphones if you want, check some of them out.
r/buildapc β’ Best PC gaming headset ?? ->Hyperx cloud 2 or alpha, best quality price ratio.
r/PS5 β’ PSA: You should really try using headphones if you havenβt before. Absolute game changer ->Hyperx cloud alpha probably best sturdy headset I have had. Just replaced earpads after using since the Xone. Not expensive.
r/XboxSeriesX β’ What Headsets Should I Avoid ->Sucks how Hyper X sold out, their quality dropped off HARD, I've got my OG Hyper X Cloud Alphas and they're still going strong after 5+ years, wish I had grabbed 2.
r/pcmasterrace β’ I analyzed the 25 most recommended gaming headsets on reddit ->Weirdos on this subreddit are going to recommend studio style headsets and separate microphones like they're professional streamers who can tell nuanced differences in audio quality. Reality is that you should just go with a tried and true headset such as the Arctis Nova Pro Wireless, Hyperx Cloud Alpha, Astro A50, etc etc. Lots of high quality headsets that thousands of people use for FPS and love it.
r/pcmasterrace β’ Hello, what headset do you recommend to play fps? ->Cloud Alpha is the only decent one here, the rest are meh and Razer audio products are actually awful. There are better options than these that cost far less.
r/HeadphoneAdvice β’ Which one of these Gaming Headphone is the best? ->Most gaming headphones are just cheap headphones sold at a higher price due to rgb or branding. Even cheap studio headphones would be far better. The old HyperX products like Cloud 2 and Alpha are based on studio headphones so they're not bad. Their new stuff is awful, though. And Razer in particular has the most overpriced headphones I've ever seen. SHP9500 would be far better than all of these and probably cheaper, too
r/HeadphoneAdvice β’ Which one of these Gaming Headphone is the best? ->That's just the truth. Same thing with keyboards, if someone has ever tried a good mechanical one and a membrane one, they'll know right away which is better. It's the same with headphones. This is coming from someone that has tried half the headphones on this list and only Cloud Alpha is decent, at most. A 20 dollar IEM will beat all of these, and I'm being completely serious here.
r/HeadphoneAdvice β’ Which one of these Gaming Headphone is the best? ->They're right. That's why I said all their new products are bad. But Cloud 2 and Alpha were made before the acquisition. Their newer iterations may be less durable and feel cheaper but they still retain the same sound. That is to say, decent overall, very good when compared to other gaming headphones. The Alpha especially.
r/HeadphoneAdvice β’ Which one of these Gaming Headphone is the best? ->Exclusively out of these options, Iβd get the HyperX Cloud III wired and call it a day. Cloud Alpha is good if you want a lot of bass but I personally donβt like the bass drowning out the other frequencies, which it does from my years of using it.
r/HeadphoneAdvice β’ Which one of these Gaming Headphone is the best? ->If those are your only option I'd take either the Cloud Alpha or G Pro X, probably the Alpha as it is really comfortable. As other's have said though, none of these are particularly good. Unlike what others have said, there are good gamer brand headsets out there like the LucidSound LS50x, Logitech G Pro X 2, Astro A50, a few EPOS models. They're just generally overpriced. Like the G Pro X 2 is a really good $100 headphone with a $20 mic selling for $250. The LucidSounds are a bit pricy new but very cheap on the used market. The LS50x or the little brother LS35x can be found used for under $60 and $40 respectively and will beat anything on your list. Sennheiser Game One's can be found for under $60 and are another step higher, they're the headset version of the HD 598. In general, you can almost always buy a new headphone of equal or better quality + a desktop mic for a lot less money than a new headset. The main exception is the Audeze Maxwell which is frankly way better than standalone wireless headphones at its price. The PC38x is also competitively priced on sale, it's right between the HD 599 and HD 560S in quality.
r/HeadphoneAdvice β’ Which one of these Gaming Headphone is the best? ->It's all relative. Considering his restrictions, I'm guessing he's found a cheap thrift store and that's his selection. A HyperX Cloud Alpha or G Pro X may be bad products at $150, but at $20 they're both excellent headsets.
r/HeadphoneAdvice β’ Which one of these Gaming Headphone is the best? ->No problem. The G Pro X has better directional audio for shooters but the Alphas sound better overall and is extremely comfortable on my opinion.Β
r/HeadphoneAdvice β’ Which one of these Gaming Headphone is the best? ->Hyper X cloud alpha are cheap, and sound waaay to good for their price. I used to hate gaming with a headset, and with this sometimes i even choose to game with them instead of speakers.
r/pcmasterrace β’ Hello, what headset do you recommend to play fps? ->Definitely! I have a HyperX Quadcast and Sennheiser HD 560S paired with Fiio k3 amp. I first had some HyperX gaming headphones, forgot the actual name probably Cloud Alpha, and well they did me great, had no trouble with them and the mic seemed good enough. I also chose open back headphones because they are much more comfortable over extended period of use time, no pressure and no sweat anymore, and the soundstage is brilliant.
r/buildapc β’ What is the best gaming headset ( 120$ ) ->I have the HyperX Alpha Cloud S (USB wired) and can strongly recommend. Regardless of where you look, wireless headsets/headphones will usually catch a lot of flack. Even if you're not an audiophile, there is an undeniable quality difference between wireless and wired. If it really doesn't matter to you, then by all means go with the wireless version. I got mine on a Prime deal for 50% off and it's been the best headset I've gamed with yet. Only time I take it off is for better headphones for music
r/HeadphoneAdvice β’ Best wireless headset for gaming currently? ->Still use it regularly and they sound great. Not sure what reviews you've read or issues that others have reported but as far as audio quality and mic quality goes, it's a fantastic headset. A few things I've run into: 1) thought one of the headphones was dying, turned out to be the headphone jack had slightly worked it's way out of the plug and just needed to be pushed back in fully, 2) due to the sturdiness of the materials, they were a bit tight initially, but I took someone recommendation to "stretch" them by putting them on a basketball for a few days (or something similar in size to force the band open wider) and it worked out perfectly, and 3) had to replace one of the ear pads because it was tearing at the seams - not even a big deal just personally bugged me so I swapped it out very easily and I know it was caused by my usage (I tend to wear them DJ style, one on and one off, because the external sound dampening is so good that it was annoying my wife that I never responded to her cause I legit couldn't hear her). Still strongly recommend, great gaming headset
r/HeadphoneAdvice β’ Best wireless headset for gaming currently? ->I just got an HyperX Cloud Alpha after having a Cloud II for 7 years. I wouldn't suggest anyone buying anything from this brand, I heard there was a noticeable quality dip after HP bought it. The Alpha is possibly the worst headphones I've ever tried sound quality wise. I'm not anywhere close to an audiophile but it's so bad that anyone coming from a functional pair of headphones will spot the difference. It even gives me headaches. I have to order another one due to how bad these are.
r/HyperX β’ Best HyperX headset? ->Ever since HP took over the build quality has went down drastically across ALL Cloud headsets. I have had Cloud Alpha S headphones for a little bit more than a year. They are covered in hot glue on the sides, because the plastic breaks off by itself during usage. The headband's material is ripping apart, my leather ear pads have broken apart recently as well (sews broke, and later on some ring that kept it from falling out of the spot). 1 year of usage, and the thing looks like I've been torturing it for the past 6 years. Apart from all of that, the sound quality is nice. Some of the best in terms of "gaming headphones" IMO. They are comfortable too. But that's really just about it. These are the only things that made me keep those headphones, because they just sound so nice. I'm confident my 3D printer would produce more durable replacements for those broken plastic parts.
r/pcmasterrace β’ I analyzed the 25 most recommended gaming headsets on reddit ->Out of those, Cloud Alpha should be the one to get
r/HeadphoneAdvice β’ Which one of these Gaming Headphone is the best? ->mainly because of comfort and build quality
r/HeadphoneAdvice β’ Which one of these Gaming Headphone is the best? ->im using hyperx cloud alpha and i can barely hear the footsteps i feel like i should've gone with audiophile in same price years ago.
r/PUBATTLEGROUNDS β’ Headphone to Gaming ->Hyperx cloud 2 or 3, or their wireless variants, or the alphas if you want to pay a bit more. It's a good headset with a mic for the price. I have had cloud 2 wired and how have cloud 3 wireless, absolutely good enough for gaming, media consumption etc.
r/pcmasterrace β’ Hello, what headset do you recommend to play fps? ->Hyper x cloud
r/buildapc β’ Best gaming headset with a budget of 50 dollars? ->Just bought my son his 2nd pair and I have one too. Probably tried 10 others over the years and never been as happy as hyper x
r/buildapc β’ Best gaming headset with a budget of 50 dollars? ->Hyper X Cloud II Alpha? or maybe theres some better Hyper X's out now, those were rated quite highly for FPS when I bought mine... I specifically got them as a counter strike tool to accurately hear the 3D position of footsteps and they served there purpose rather well... wireless too :)
r/HeadphoneAdvice β’ Good headphones for fps gaming? ->I use the hyperx cloud alpha headset. The first pair I had used for 3 years before i dropped them on the ground and broke a speaker. I promptly bought another pair the next day. I'm unsure of how they compare to others, but I like em and have no reason to shop around
r/iRacing β’ I've reached my snapping point - I need headphone recommendations ->Maybe I am a bit late on this topic but from what I have heard, the HyperX Cloud series and Logitech Pros are quite good. Or am I wrong and those are not worth mentioning (I am really on the search for new headphones cause the padding on my Hyperx cloud mix are dying)
r/HeadphoneAdvice β’ Genuinely good gaming headphones? ->I recently upgraded from my Hyper X Cloud headset with built-in mic to an Audio Technica ATH-M20X and a basic desktop condenser mic combo. I'll never go back to any "gaming" headset again. It just doesn't compare for the level of FPS gaming I do.
r/buildapc β’ Why is it that gamers recommend different headphones to audiophiles or music listeners? ->damn cloud 2s still going strong, I am an hx alpha user myself
r/pcmasterrace β’ I analyzed the 25 most recommended gaming headsets on reddit ->My Hyperx cloud alpha headphones are great. Very long lasting and sound very good.

r/pcmasterrace β’ I analyzed the 25 most recommended gaming headsets on reddit ->I have a cloud alpha. It's been in use for like 4 years, got replacement pads and here we are still rocking it. Altho I'm adding to my setup a Superlux HD-330
r/pcmasterrace β’ I analyzed the 25 most recommended gaming headsets on reddit ->The hyperx alpha is a decent one. Other alternatives may be a wireless audeze maxwell(but at a higher price) or beyerdynamic mmx-100
r/HeadphoneAdvice β’ gaming headset for my boyfriend!! ->Tried the hyperx alphas for a few days, I like the audio quality. But I disliked the tightness on my ears and my buddy complained about the mic quality.
r/gamingpc β’ Best pc gaming headset ->Hyper X Cloud. it will last longer than you
r/gamingpc β’ Best pc gaming headset ->Dude late comment but i bought the hyper x cloud revolver s in 2018 when i built my pc and its the most durable amazing headset ive ever owned and they dont make it anymore and the new cloud alpha is fucking ASS.
