I ended up going with the G522s and they have been awesome. They are lightweight, don't get hot, and everyone tells me I sound crystal clear. It has only been a few weeks, so we will see how good they are down the road, but so far so good.
I still like them a lot! They hold a charge for DAYS...I dont use them as often right now, but I forget to turn them off when I am done, and they don't die the next day. I think I may have charged them 5 times, maybe, since I got them. Everyone I talk to on discord says it sounds much better than my previous headset, the sound is clear to me, I have 0 complaints. They can be a little sweaty, but I have glasses and it presses the arm against my head, so that maybe the cause there, honestly. But overall, 10/10. Disclaimer: I am not an audiophile in the purest sense. I think it is probably a little light on bass, but I have desktop speakers I use for music, so if you're into listening to the hiss of a record needle, I am not sure these would meet your demands. I would, 100%, buy these from now on.
I have had no complaints at all - everyone tells me how clear I sound, and it does a fairly decent job of background cancellation. I only use it in discord, so I do not know if it works as well with a console or other software.
LG G522 light speed. It’s very light and I got it on sale. Usually around $150. It’s not the best headset I’ve used but for the price it’s good and you can even use the Logitech app to change the settings.
Logitech G522 is really good if you want something with a solid mic for cheap. Better, newer version of the G733. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hf6ElVFFqFY Amazon has them for $198. Officeworks is matching that but you can use their price beat to get an extra 5% off.
G522 hands down no question.
Logitech G522 has probably the best mic of any headset I've ever tried, and all reviews also line up with that being the case. Very comfy and works on both 2.4ghz for low latency and bluetooth.
Wireless: Astro A20X or Logitech G522 (Logi better for big heads) will have the best mics while the HyperX Cloud III S will have better sound but slightly worse mic. If you're in the US then Logitech has sales on the Astro series on their website. If you don't mind having a seperate Mic + Headphones you could just go for something like a pair of AKG K361 / Sony MDR-7506s / Hifiman HE400SE with a USB mic like the Samson Q2U, Audio-Technica AT2005USB or Røde NT-USB Mini which will yield better results (or could even go for a basic XLR Mic + Interface like the Behringer XM8500 with an M-Audio M-Track for upgradability). If it has to be all-in-one then the Austrian Audio PG16 / PB17 (mainly just different colours) is one of the best budget-ish wired headset microphones out there and there's also the Røde NTH-100M.
