So I’ve had these OG g pros not x for 5 years. Got them when they first came out in 2019 for 100$. Well I really liked them. Prime day deals had them 69$. Ordered them up and the audio is worse? What’s the deal here? I play bf2042 a lot. My original g pros using the dac and dts enabled in windows spatial settings sounded fantastic. I could hear people from all directions fine. Well this new dac for the pro X has it only through g hub. It sounds muffled. The foot steps are literally non existent and all I hear is explosions and gun fire across the map but before had no problem. Fiddled with the eq got it to sound slightly better but it’s not even in the realm of the g pro using the windows setting for dts. I paid for a license years back as I didn’t realize they made just a g pro non x. Wondered for years why I had no surround setting in g hub. Any fix before I return these things? Not trying to spend an arm and leg and feel I just wasted $$ because despite the condition of the 5 year old g pros they work fine and sound great still I just figured it was a good time to buy a backup on sale and was torn on the cloud iii vs these but had good luck with the previous set. G hub was uninstalled and reinstalled the latest version before plugging them in. Also the blue voice…. In 5 years are very competitive gaming. Never once heard someone say I sound weird. Or bad. Or anything. Now using the blue voice everyone says I sound weird and completely different.
My original g pros non x have been through 2/3 sets of ear pads. Only replaced because the wires are exposed. Still have them as a back up.
I mean I’m happy with mine. I just know how dts sounds normally not through g hub and it’s fantastic. I used them g pros 5years + I have no complaints at all about the build quality or sound quality of the g pro. It’s just the replacements (g pro x) sound terrible in comparison to using dts through the windows settings. There’s some work arounds and I’ll try them out once the other headsets arrive. Might even use a different sound card all together. Gonna try them all ways and also compare to 2 other headsets I ordered. Whichever I like most I’m keeping.
This is actually how I’m going to try them tonight after work. I have 2 more headsets coming. Hyper X cloud iiis and senheiser game. Gonna try them all various ways. With and without dac. Heck I outta do a video comparison too. I love the build quality of the g pros I just wanna hear some other headsets as I’ve only used these in 5 years so who knows. May end up keeping these after all. Praise the lord for free amazon returns lol.
Never had a complaint about my mic.
No. The first Gen.
save you time and money: bought: logitech g433, logitech g pro 2018, steelseries siberia v2, steelseries nova pro wireless, overpriced, overadvertised obnoxious sound, not even good for competitive accurate steps and cues awareness, don't buy that overpriced crap, also g pro x 2 graphene wireless version, good for music, but not for counter strike, can't hear shit when opponent comes from very distant places
I have these it's good works simple. G pro wired. But I rather avoid these get better ones out there.. Like Sony etc..dell..
Top (3.5mm wired, work with PS5 controller, laptop & PC) HyperX Cloud Alpha.... comfy, great mic for the price, sturdy. Good all-rounder. SteelSeries Arctis 3.... balanced sound, clear mic, lightweight and comfy for long sessions. Sennheiser Game One / GSP 300... best mic clarity of the bunch, very comfy, sounds great. Logitech G Pro (with 3.5mm cable) ... esports-grade, very clear voice and comfy fit.
The best headset I ever used was the Logitech G Pro wired headset. Detachable mic, easy 3.5mm jack, detachable wire, (splitter in case you wanna use it for pc) Sound quality is good. I need to get another one cos the one I have has held up for over 5 years, but now I play on a TV so what I think I’ll do is get a pair IEM earphones and if I really wanna, layer the headset over that to block out noise. That way I get the comfortable-ness of not constantly wearing a headset but allows me the option of the in-game advantage of noise canceling when layered.
