LucidSound LS35X. I bought these Jan 11, 2020 and it’s still kicking. I use them every day. I have only replaced the earpads once. I love the sound. The mic is detachable and the headset has a built in mic in case you don’t want to use the detachable mic. Detachable mic is of course a bit better since the boom is closer to your mouth. Volume is adjusted manually by easily turning rotating the outer metal ring on the left ear. Push in the large button on the left ear to mute/unmute sound or push the large button on right ear to mute/unmute your mic. Mic boom lights up red when muted. Wife loves it for this reason because she doesn’t like people to hear her talk to me, so she’ll ask me to mute, or if she sees I’m already muted she’ll just say what she needs. Best wireless I’ve ever owned. Looking at my order I originally paid $122 after taxes and seeing the price now at $70 makes me want to buy a second pair in case these ever do decide to crap out.

These look amazing, but two things my lucidsound LS35X does that will impact me purchasing the Scapes. No Xbox support - I'd be happy if I could buy a compatible transmitter as a separate purchase No chat/Game Audio Balance perhaps we can get an app update that could work around this even if there is no physical button Minor niggles but the Lucid has rotating volume and balance controls which are great, I suspect the metal painted volume adjuster will start the get hand muck build up and paint wear on the dark version quickly. Those brackets look like the Lucids and every other headset prone to bracket failure, but time will tell regarding these things. The only other bit I'd like to see is an easy removable headband pad for easy swap outs for maintenance and for people who might like alternatives i.e. non scratchy options

So I got the new Xbox wireless headset, and I wanted to give some quick impressions because I don’t really see a lot of them online. BUILD QUALITY: the build feels very similar to the last one. So although I didn’t use the last one a lot because I didn’t like the mic quality, I’ve seen some pictures online that they get used up pretty fast. IMPROVED MIC: The mic quality seems way better. I put mine on without really telling my friends that I changed headsets and no one really complained about it. I wanted to see if the mic quality was lower so I played without actually telling anyone that I changed headsets. I don’t think anyone noticed that my headset was different and I think that’s a good thing. To be clear I used a lucid sound X 35 before. SOUND QUALITY: As far as sound quality, it sounds good, but you have to play with it. If you don’t adjust the equalizer settings, the headset out of the box quite frankly sounds terrible. Once you adjust the equalizer settings it sounds way better. I’m not sure why Xbox don’t have some pre-set equalizer settings for specific games. It seems like a pretty easy solution to me. As far as Dolby Atmos goes, I honestly can’t really tell a difference between my old one and this one. Make of that what you will. THE UGLY: The only downside I have for this headset honestly is that the sound even at the maximum is not very loud. Although that doesn’t really affect the game or voice, I like my sound a little louder sometimes and even the loudest option is just not very loud in my opinion. NOTABLE MENTION: Firmware update was easy to update but it took a while. Honestly like 10 minutes. Other than that, I can’t really complain about it. It definitely seems like an improvement over the last one. Edit: Also, the headset does have some pretty cool features like auto mute. I haven’t played with it a lot, but it seems to work well. There’s also a mute button on the mic for those who don’t want to use the auto mute feature. Edit2: for the equalizer setting I did this https://www.reddit.com/r/xboxone/s/FiAbmkpoyT Edit3: oh and important mention, it DOES NOT come with a charging wire. So you need to have one on hand, but I think it uses USB-C. I used one of my Apple wires and it worked on this.

I would say try the lucidsound x35 if you can get them cheap. IMO they’re way better and I got them for cheaper.

There are good Xbox headsets out there, this in my opinion, isn’t one of them. This one still feels cheap and the sound quite frankly after using it for a few months is really not all that great. I went back to my lucidSound x35 because they sound way better, and they were cheaper. I think Microsoft in general always think about cost cutting measures instead of making a really great product. For me, priority one on a headset is sound. It should be top notch, and I understand that this is not a high-end headset, but I’ve bought headsets for cheaper than this that sounded way better.

I’m not sure to be honest. The original one I used it once and my friends immediately complained about my mic quality and I just never used them again. I sold it to a friend and I bought the lucid sound. It’s not very long but again, no one really complained about my mic quality when I was playing.

I went through 2 pairs of Arctic 9x for my Xbox series X and while they were super comfortable to use and were marketed at Xbox users, they wouldn’t stay synced to the console for longer than 2 mins, which is useless, especially for multiplayer comms. They were brand new out of the box with this issue. In the end I kept using my Lucid Sound headset.
