my first headset was the xbox wired one they sell, it’s roughly $50 if that is within your budget, it’s pretty solid, i’ve had it for 4 years and it’s still working like its new.
Turtle Beach is terrible, stay away. I have used the official Xbox one and no complaints, also heard good things about steel series. Pretty much always have to avoid the entry level models of all brands tho. Sennheiser makes a gaming headset but I've not used it.
I game mostly on Series X using the Xbox official headset. The thing I notice is that it works great as long as a game is playing. If you wish to use it to watch TV, or YouTube, or anything else, the connection is so bad it becomes unusable. Not sure why this happens, but this is something I have dealt with since I bought the headset for myself as a Christmas gift last year.
